Stayed 4 nights

The hotel is EXTREMELY bare bones and needs major renovations. Just know what you’re getting yourself into. There is no safe, no AC, no fridge, no hair dryer. You can say that I’m being too entitled/American. However, we stayed at 4 other hotels in Jalisco/Guanajuato on this trip and at minimum they had a safe, AC and a hair dryer. The positives are the location in the historic center, the full length mirror in the room and the elevator. We stayed during the city’s busiest time, Día de los Muertos. Our room was one of the ‘triple’ rooms, 307. It had a main bedroom with 2 beds and then a separate room with a door that contained the other bed. I stayed in the room with the single bed and it was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on- just as hard as sleeping on the tile floor. Other beds weren’t any better. FYI, the windows in this room do not lock. We stayed in late October and it was still quite hot and would only cool down late at night. We are Arizonans by the way. We had to sleep with the windows open to get any sort of comfort. Of course that added another degree of difficulty to sleep because of the loud festivities going into the wee hours of the morning. All in all, these are things I can and did come to terms with. However, the #1 thing we hated above all is the bathroom door. It’s a slatted door. WHY?! Might as well have no door! So I would not stay here again and would not recommend.

We didn't feel the room was very clean. Also, the bedding was noticeably old and the mattress provided an experience comparable to sleeping on the floor. Maybe this is fine for younger travelers, but not for those looking for comfort. But hey, the location, as other reviews noted, was terrific.
