We needed a bed for the night on our way North which offered a chance to meet up with old friends. This hotel fitted the bill. Our room was spacious with a nice bathroom. The pub downstairs meant we could get a bite to eat and have a chat. We did have noisy neighbours around midight but thats not the hotels fault. Only grumble would be that food could be served hotter. Both our evening meals and breakfasts could have been improved in this way.

Rooms are OK, dont expect high standard. Food is typical pub food but menu was large so plenty to choose from. Lots of parking and convenient to motorway.

Quick trip to the area. Hotel was very handy for where i needed to be. Plenty of free parking.. check in lady was great. Room was fine. A bit chilly but the heating soon sorted that. Neighbours were a pain in the rear end. Noisy at 1am. Not the fault of the hotel of course. Had dinner on site. Reasonably priced and very nice. Breakfast was included and was great. Key drop check out. Will i use this one again. Definitely yes.

The hotel was isolated. It was very quiet at evening times so would not like to sit in the bar more or less by ourselves. No access to Sky Sports ( which Greene King is well known for) so we travelled to other venues. It is a lovely hotel and bar but only for those who like a really quiet time.

It's a pity because the building is nice and has character, like the bar/dining area. The staff were nice and the food was good. But the bedroom... All 4 doors to access the bedrooms were dirty in the area where ppl push them open. Our door, which was hard ro open, looked like it had been prised open and no-one had bothered to repair it. The room looked nice at a first glance, but then I saw the walls were dirty, TV aerial cable was dangling from the wall socket, not plugged in to the TV, bathroom extractor fan didn't work, toilet seat was wrong size and a dirty hand soap dispenser on the wall was empty, but another one with soap in was lying on the side. See photos. Again, it's a pity because a bit of attention could make the place look if not good, at least minimum standards. I get the impression that someone managing the place has a no f12ks given attitude towards the place. I pay the same and less to stay in clean presentable hotels which also have children's breakfast included.

The darrington is a lovely upbeat place to stay the decor is in line with the place and building itself just right. The pub within the building is great the staff are always helpful even when the bar is full and busy. A pleasant place to stay.

Not very clean, wee stain on toilet and bathroom needs a do over, most definitely the toilet as the seat was too small fo- see picture. Beds were company but creaky and likely old. Funny smell in hallways and like a maze to get to the room. Old style keys needs updating to electronic locks. Definitely didn’t seem worth anywhere near the £100+ per night we paid.

Starting with the staff, excellent very jolly and any queries or help needed was quickly and effectively sorted. Very clean establishment,bath was definitely very slippery need to have anti slip mats as norm and not have to request one, shower bath combi a bit awkward to use. Moving on to the food our evening meal was a mixed affair. The shared onion ring stacker was great but the main meals were poor quality probably wouldn't eat there in the evening again but breakfast was really good, would I stay here again? Yes certainly would very good sleep no disturbance.

Bathroom in the bedroom was dirty, roof peeling black mold around shower. Picture frame in main bedroom broken and sharp edge. Staircase is missing a spindle which is surely against the law with risk of a child falling through. Banister outside broken and unsafe. All outside area dirty rubbish blowing around seating area at front of pub dirty tables & manus in pub area. The best thing about the pub is the manager who was on shift Saturday day / night.

Friendly staff, however I feel sorry for them working in an establishment that as had no investment or upkeep for a long time. Our room was very tired, the bathroom was dusty, mold in the shower and the ceiling was in great need of attention, the corridor was smelly. Shame on a company like Greene King not to take more care of one of its establishment.

Hotel overall was pretty dirty. We ate in the bar which actually tasted quite nice but when we ordered a drink the glasses came with dirt and lipstick on them. When I returned them to the bar, the girl was actually unimpressed that I had returned it. Albeit she did say sorry. The room and corridor leading to it were also old and dirty looking. However, the bed sheets were very clean and the bed was comfortable. We paid less than £60 so it wasn’t over the top for the time of year. Not a great hotel given its condition though.

The hotel was clean, up to date. We had a nice room, quiet and cool with a nice bathroom. All very clean and comfortable. Only 3 stars because we were rudely awaken early in the morning by the fire alarm. It went off twice while we were trying to have a lie in. It set a downer to our day and was really stressful. We weren't sure whether we should run outside in our underwear. When we asked downstairs what happened they said someone in the kitchen had burnt toasts. Not impressed.

No hot water for two consecutive days. They have had a problem with their boilers since January and still have to refill every twenty to thirty minutes just to maintain any hot water. The restaurant is awful. The food is just gross.

Check out on the Hotels.com website says 12:00 noon check out but its 11:00 am, main carpets need cleaning and a little paint in the room wouldn't go a miss Toilet takes required to pump the flush. TV signal on and off. Would stay again even though a few minor points.also first time ever I've seen a insect trap in the room at the side of the Bed and I've travelled the world.

The staff were excellent and the room was lovely and quiet. The beds were really comfy. I would only say that the shower cubicle was very cramped with a drench shower head which was unnerving for my elderly mum and the carpets and some fixtures were a little tired.

Was a lovely hotel with lovely staff in a nice location, I do like the kings inn hotels but admittedly the bathroom wasn’t very clean nor modern and it did smell a little, but it was still good for the price we paid to stay there. The bed was comfortable and we had a sleep without any disturbances. Also breakfast was nice, and the bar maids were very nice and it was very calm and chilled to sit and have a drink in the evening.
Was a lovely hotel with lovely staff in a nice location, I do like the kings inn hotels but admittedly the bathroom wasn’t very clean nor modern and it did smell a little, but it was still good for the price we paid to stay there. The bed was comfortable and we had a sleep without any disturbances. Also breakfast was nice, and the bar maids were very nice and it was very calm and chilled to sit and have a drink in the evening.

Great customer service, comfy beds, some marks on walls & black spots in bathroom but overall clean, tidy. Good night sleep. Would use again. Only think to note not wheelchair friendly (stairs to all rooms), but team willing to help where can.

Quick trip to the area. Hotel was very handy for where i needed to be. Plenty of free parking.. check in lady was great. Room was fine. A bit chilly but the heating soon sorted that. Neighbours were a pain in the rear end. Noisy at 1am. Not the fault of the hotel of course. Had dinner on site. Reasonably priced and very nice. Breakfast was included and was great. Key drop check out. Will i use this one again. Definitely yes.

The hotel was isolated. It was very quiet at evening times so would not like to sit in the bar more or less by ourselves. No access to Sky Sports ( which Greene King is well known for) so we travelled to other venues. It is a lovely hotel and bar but only for those who like a really quiet time.

We needed a bed for the night on our way North which offered a chance to meet up with old friends. This hotel fitted the bill. Our room was spacious with a nice bathroom. The pub downstairs meant we could get a bite to eat and have a chat. We did have noisy neighbours around midight but thats not the hotels fault. Only grumble would be that food could be served hotter. Both our evening meals and breakfasts could have been improved in this way.

Starting with the staff, excellent very jolly and any queries or help needed was quickly and effectively sorted. Very clean establishment,bath was definitely very slippery need to have anti slip mats as norm and not have to request one, shower bath combi a bit awkward to use. Moving on to the food our evening meal was a mixed affair. The shared onion ring stacker was great but the main meals were poor quality probably wouldn't eat there in the evening again but breakfast was really good, would I stay here again? Yes certainly would very good sleep no disturbance.

No hot water for two consecutive days. They have had a problem with their boilers since January and still have to refill every twenty to thirty minutes just to maintain any hot water. The restaurant is awful. The food is just gross.

Hotel overall was pretty dirty. We ate in the bar which actually tasted quite nice but when we ordered a drink the glasses came with dirt and lipstick on them. When I returned them to the bar, the girl was actually unimpressed that I had returned it. Albeit she did say sorry. The room and corridor leading to it were also old and dirty looking. However, the bed sheets were very clean and the bed was comfortable. We paid less than £60 so it wasn’t over the top for the time of year. Not a great hotel given its condition though.

I don’t often give reviews but on this occasion I will as I’ve nothing good to say. Hairs on every surface, especially in the bathroom, and I don’t think any were from the previous occupants head. Food was barely edible and obviously straight from the freezer. Need GordonR in there to sort that. Decor tired, carpet included soil and waste from the 17 most recent housing developments locally, eventual sleep disturbed by bottle lorry at 5.15am. 3rd hotel of the week and by far the worst. Wouldn’t stay there again if they paid me.

The room was lovely & very big. Nice sofa bed infront of the tv on the wall. We were only there 1 night, so we didnt use the sofa or the tv. The bed was huge, & sooo comfy. Only issue we had was the shower. It was either hot or scolding. And we couldn't get hold of anyone on the phone to assist us. There should be a direct number to reception for emergencies or problems, as I had to go down to reception in my pj's & then wait for someone to come from the restaurant to see me. However, the lady was very helpful. She came & tested the shower & agreed it was far too hot. She gave us access to an empty room, luckily it was only next door, so we could use that shower. I must say that the shower was one of the smallest I've ever seen. Anyone larger would not have got in there. I could'nt reach down to my feet lol. But at least I was clean & could wash my hair.
