First impression of the hotel were disappointing as the entrance of the building looked tired and unkept. It was very quiet the person who checked us in was relaxed and pleasant. Our room was ok. The bar/restaurant was nice and the food was good. Breakfast was lovely. The downside of the location was I hadn't realised it was so isolated that said there was a bus link into Oban.

The staff were very friendly. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We ate at the hotel and our meals were excellent. Breakfast was also very good. The bar and restaurant area was lovely. Restaurant overlooks the rear garden too.

Room was dirty and in need of re-decoration. Weird arrangements for dinner. We requested a dinner time of 7.00pm, but were told there was only 6.30 or 7.30pm available. We chose 6.30pm and arrived at the restaurant on time. We were told to sit in the bar area and have a drink. The manager took our food order at 6.45pm. At 7.15pm I went to the bar to ask the manger why we had still not been seated in the dining area despite him telling us to arrive at 6.30pm. He said that diners were being seated in the order in which they arrived , and we would be seated when it was our turn. When I said that it was not acceptable to have to wait so long for food, the manager said he was on his own and doing his best. Not our problem. We were not impressed with his attitude. What a strange way to run a business.

Lovely location, room was a bit tired but clean. Immediate grounds needed a bit of attention and was overgrown in parts, but the wider surrounding area is beautiful. Waitress who served us for dinner was really friendly and breakfast was good. Would recommend as a place to stay but it could do with a bit of upgrading.
