Star G Hotel Premium Dresden Altmarkt

Great location, right at the centre of town. The room was on the small side but clean and comfortable. Close parking but unfortunately the instructions to get there weren’t good and we spent almost an hour trying to figure out where it was.

Das Hotel ist mitten in der Stadt. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Hotel ist sauber und gepflegt. Lediglich im Speisesaal sollte der Teppich erneuert werden. Ein Hinweis vorab sollte erfolgen, dass die Parkmöglichkeit sich in einem öffentlichen Parkhaus befindet und eine Wegbeschreibung dorthin wäre hilfreich.

Alles bestens nur schade das das Hotel keine Bar hat

Hotel located right on the central square. Central and easy to reach everywhere we needed, especially as the main Tram stop was right outside the doors. Check-in quick and easy. Staff on desk helpful. Room was located right next to the lift which I was worried about, but we didn't hear it at all over our 5 night stay. Room clean and comfortable. There was a coffee pod machine with 1 free pod each per stay - as non-coffee drinkers we requested a kettle which was provided for the duration of our stay, just as well I took my own tea bags - also no sugar or milk/creamer was provided. There was an in room chiller- not quite a fridge. Bathroom was compact but well equipped and shower ran very well. Breakfast was well run and re-stocked items very efficiently. Good selection of fresh fruit and pancakes made me very happy! No "normal" tea bags provided - all herbal or fruit based, or coffees. There was hot chocolate available at breakfast too. My complaint is that the parking for the hotel is part of the general city parking system underneath the main square. Although a slight discount was offered as being a resident, it was still 20 euros per night - I had read the information on their page as the cost per night would be what they reduced the price by. We ended up moving our car to a park and ride car park (free) and using the trams while in the city instead. The car park being under the main square also made it more difficult to get cases to the hotel.

The property is clean and targeted towards business travelers. The breakfast was nice. Downsides: parking is across the open square and you have to drag your suitcase up a few steps to get to the elevator.

The room was big and clean. However, the entrance of the hotel has steps, which make it hard to go in with the suitcase. Even to get to the first lift, there are more steps, and despite having an incline, it’s sooo steep that it’s pointless. If you’re a fit person should be fine. But if, like me, you had surgery recently - it’s really hard. This should have been made clear when booked the room. The room had a fridge, but the fridge wasn’t that cool, so wouldn’t be fit to keep food. Maybe a few drinks. Again, this should have be made clear on the ad. Lastly the aircon doesn’t allow to control the temperature has 6 settings: -3 to 3 whatever that is. Even on the -3 wasn’t great. The hotel was clean and central, but I felt let down by the amenities (fridge, lift; aircon) that were supposed to have and were below average.

Gutes Hotel am Altmarkt von Dresden. Der Eingang legt in der Fußgängerzone. Parken in der Altmarkt-Garage mit 8 € Rabatt als Hotelgast (20 € statt 28 €). Zimmer angemessen groß mit DU/WC und leerer Minibar. Fenster sind schallisoliert. Das Hotel ist nicht barrierefrei, da auf dem Weg zum Zimmer mehrere Stufen zu überwinden sind.

Das Bettlaken hatte noch 💩 Bremsspuren vom Vorgänger 🤮, beim Versuch das Fenster zu öffnen ist man versehentlich an die Fensterbank angeschlossen und danach konnte man sich die ✋ waschen. Der Schmutz der gesamten letzten Woche. Traurig und beschämend. Für uns nie wieder Fotos liegen gerne vor

Very clean and beautiful

Perfect location, right by one of the squares, but no street noise. Very good sized room and bathroom. Friendly staff. Fridge , but no kettle for tea. Drinks dispenser for when the bar is closed. Old plaster “band aid” on bed frame and spilt coffee that had not been cleaned up on desk, but otherwise clean.

Hotel in the middle of this city. This is the main reason I have chosen to stay. Clean, city view from my window. BUT I don't have towels in the room. Not, even one. Big question. There's no phone to call front desk. I was so tired that took a shower and put on my pajama on a wet body😂

크리스마스 뷰를 요청하였는데 수용해주지 않았어요 조식먹는 식당은 난방이 안되어서 너무너무 추웠습니다 이틀째 되던 날에 외출하고 돌아오니 쓰레기통 뚜껑이 화장대 위에 떡하니 올려 있고 이불또한 머리카락이 마니 놓여 있어 당혹스러웠습니다 위치말고는 좋은게 없었어요 ㅠㅠ

Hotel é antigo mas muito bem localizado. O quarto estava OK, mas pode melhorar. Haviam resquícios de falta de limpeza deixados pelos hóspedes anteriores. Mas nada grave. A vista é excelente, de frente p/ praça. E nessa época do Natal é perfeita.

Im großen und ganzen war es wirklich schön, wobei die Sauberkeit etwas besser hätte sein können. Wir hatten die Familienzimmer mit Balkon, leider war dieser nicht sauber und vllt 2 Stühle und ein Tisch wären schön gewesen.

The hotel is very well located in the touristic heart of Dresden The room assigned was big and comfortable, oriented to the internal yard of the block The bad experience was around cleaning service, it did not happen, apparently some internal misunderstanding/ lack of control on the employees delivering it. Manager quickly reacted offering fresh towels, soap, paper and even some courtesy card for the bar.

The hotel's location is very convenient and close to the main sights. The staff was friendly and helpful. But the furnishings/interiors were drab and made the hotel somewhat uninviting, and the single room I stayed in was tiny. (Everything looked better in the pictures!) And can't help but mention the Wi-Fi was very slow.

Excellent location, right in front of the Christmas market. You can walk everywhere in this beautiful city. The hotel is old and with normal maintenance. What I don't understand is that the bathroom has no door, absolutely no privacy when you are showering. Incredible. Very uncomfortable, for this detail I would not recommend this hotel. Another important detail, the bells of a nearby church ring every day and at all hours. Unbearable. Parking is not on the property and not entirely convenient.

I stayed 3 nights. The location of Star G was excellent - walking distance to Dresden highlights, the river, and shops, cafes and dining options. The room was clean and spacious and I liked the fact that windows opened for fresh air. However my room faced the clock/bell tower and although I generally like the sound of church bells in Europe, the chimes were intrusive, continuing until midnight.

Ac barely works at all and doesn’t let you set a temperature. It’s just a dial that goes from 1-3. Like a fan. Room lacked outlets and the breakfast was not worth anywhere nearly $20 euros a day. Checked out multiple days early and they wouldn’t work with me on a refund—which sure, I suppose that’s policy but it would have gone a long way in my thoughts towards this hotel. No idea why this was rated so high. Stay away.

Air conditioning wasn’t working neither the refrigerator in the room, other these two things, it was ok!

Very comfortable and quiet room in a great location. Wonderful breakfast selection, especially the fresh fruit. Only negative was the terrible wifi - weak signal that would frequently cut out or not connect at all. It made our travel planning very difficult.

Wifey: “Strange that there seems to be so little traffic”. (Opens window) WOOOSSHH! Someone has made soundproofing an art form it seems. Situated smack in the middle of Dresden with cars and trams going by, there’s nothing to disturb your sleep. Parking is a little distance away, otherwise very convenient.

Great location! Clean new rooms and bathroom. Need to get new pillows - they were small lumpy foam ones and the duvet was far too small for the bed. Staff were nice enough and looked after our bags when we arrived early.

Service was quite dismal. Didn’t get promised “VIP welcome drink.” No wi-fi in room as promised. Air conditioning was nonexistent. (There was a thermostat on the wall, but you could only set it for 3 degrees above or below the current temperature. Even then, the room never got cooler.) Reception desk was too preoccupied to attend to me when I went to inquire about above issues. (They were both speaking with friends.) The hotel itself was nice and in a good location, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

The location is great and it is in old town but when we arrived, the blond lady at the reception looked down at us in such a humiliating way that I couldn't understand the reason as we were so tired. Then I asked for the room and when she learnt that we had a superior room, she changed her treatment and tried to kind to us. I couldn't stop thinking that she was treating the customers according to money they have??? Anyway...I had my mother with me and she had a problem with her leg and she was so tired. Then this blond young lady wanted me to fill in the stupid form via a digital screen and I really found it so stupid as she really saw us being very tired and she ignored it, not even offering us any water or any seat for my mother...She could have fotocopied our passports as we did in the previous hotel in Berlin and when I was doing it, I said the whole procedure was stupid but she said this is the law?? Excuse me but it is not the first time I stay in a hotel and they were better at their treatments with the customers. But this woman repeated the same thing with her cold face with no help offering to us...and I said I will write about it and she kept repeating the same thing as if I dont know anything about the difference between what law says and what the procedure says...anyway I think the hotel should choose better employees to welcome the guests at the reception. Apart from that the breakfast was good.

Clean hotel with friendly staff, easy check-in, and in an area easily walkable to the train station. Staff speaks English.

Building is set up in a bizarre way. Confusing and long walk back to the room. We booked a suite which was extremely depressingly dark. (They had to give us a new room, due to the fact that there was excrement still in the toilet of the original room.) Bathroom was a very awkward set up, with zero chance for any privacy. Staff was rude and many spoke zero English (at least pretended not to).

Hotel very clean, big rooms , big beds, very friendly at the reception, and especially thank you to Marko, very friendly, he reserved a taxi to the airport and most of all for all the services he give us. Prime location , close to restaurants, malls, and attractions.

Very nice hotel. Clean and in a great location. I got a free upgrade overlooking the plaza. The staff even brought me a little treat when they found out it was my birthday.

Nice hotel right on the square. Easy tram trip from the Hbf, easy walk to the Frauenkirche and Semperopera. Safe area, friendly staff and a great breakfast.

Great value and a couple minutes walk to the main attractions.

Besonders hervorheben ist das sehr gute Frühstück, die flinken und umsichtigen Mitarbeiter und die absolut perfekte Lage.

Fantastisk beliggenhed - tæt på offentlig trafik og butikker og alt i den gamle bydel.

Das Star G Hotel Premium in Dresden hat ein großartiges Preis - Leistungs - Verhältnis. Die Lage im Zentrum der Stadt ist optimal. Das Frühstück ist hervorragend. Nach mehrfachen Aufenthalten in diesem Hotel kann ich den Besuch immer wieder empfehlen.

Wir waren das 2. mal in diesem Hotel. Die Zimmer sind gut und die Lage hervorragend. Der Service war leider nicht so gut und das Frühstück für diesen Preis sehr mittelmäßig. Rührei industriell, Sagt aus dem Automaten ständig leer und wir hatten ein schlechtes Bircher Müsli welches vielleicht vom Vortag war. Dies wurde weggenommen mit einem Sorry und das war’s. Ich würde das Frühstück nicht nochmal buchen. Man isst besser außerhalb!

Das Frühstück sehr gut, das Personal im Frühstücksraum und auch an der Rezeption sehr aufmerksam Gerne wieder.
