The room was a long walk from very steep stairs, with no elevator, and the room was fairly small. The tomahawk steak and seafood chowder were excellent. Paul was very helpful with our luggage to put in the back room while we went to a medical appointment.

Amazing old hotel building, renovated,pub,tab,dining.No lift, 2 floors,non access to balcony.Great location close to shops and public transportation.Quiet, secure with no access to non guest.Great service,easy and quick check in & out. Nice ambient. Warmly recommend.

Awesome stay for a concert at the Hordern. Had dinner at the pub, delicious steak. We had a few cocktails and the bar staff were mega friendly and helpful. Great vibe for a drink and dinner. Team stop is across the road so straight to the venue and we got a park on site. Will for sure stay again. Walked the Coogee coast in the morning as it’s a 5 min drive from the hotel. This place is a gem

Great location, comfortable beds and quiet. Has been place of choice for overnight stays over the years. This time, however, the shower recess had significant mould - it needs a deeper clean because it’s starting to feel grimy and detracts from the rest of the room.

So many things to like about the hotel and rooms. Room was nicely fitted out and was noise from the pub below was minimal. Really close to restaurants and supermarket. Randwick is a great place to stay. One small negative was theShower grout was moist and needed cleaning.

I've stayed at the Royal twice now when i've had medical appointments nearby. Both bedrooms and ensuites were very clean, pleasantly decorated and very comfortable. The dining room and bar area serves well priced and good quality meals & drinks. Reception was efficient and courteous. On both occasions my rooms were far enough from the bar area to ensure i was not bothered by late night noise, and i actually don't even know if noise IS ever an issue in the accommodation areas. A well maintained lovely old hotel mercifully not ruined by the 'developers'. I will happily stay there again if I am in the area.

Basically, it was fine. Even though there was a pretty crowded bar on the street level (with TVs going), I didn't hear anything in the room. Maybe one thing to keep in mind: you can't control the temperature of the room (the HVAC is centrally controlled -- and also starts only when your keycard is in the slot), so if that's something you need, it might be a problem for you. But it wasn't for me, and I expect to be back.

Great location. Beautiful newly renovated family room, lots of heritage features. Super close to the tram and all the Randwick shops and restaurants. The only thing that stops it from being a 5 star rating is that was noisy from the street and the bar.

My room was very small (a single room) but had everything I needed except a desk. I was able to sit at table downstairs to work, though. The hotel was very accommodating to let me check in early and check out late. The location is convenient - just one block from the end of the L2 light-rail line and a short walk or bus ride to Coogee Beach.

I wanted a less corporate, less CBD experience of Sydney - and the Royal Randwick gave me that. The room was very comfortable, and the air conditioning worked to the point of refrigeration if need be. Great experience, and excellent value for money. If you want to visit the CBD, there was a tram line directly to the Cirular Quay.

Rain dripping on to roof below very annoying. Rain itself ok but the dripping from higher roof to lower roof outside our window very loud. Room very hot and window only opened about 3inches. No airconditioning unit. No wifi password given on arrival. No information about property given. Staff not visible or accessible and not friendly except for security guard. Staff reluctantly offered to carry suitcase upstairs for a 69yr old woman. Security guard carried them for us. Very small room for two people with only one chair. Good location though.

This is the second time I've stayed here -- so, I did like it the first time. It was fine, and it's still fine. Last review, I praised the soundproofing; in the rooms, you don't hear the sports bar downstairs. Still true, but I discovered you might hear the room next door :-). Meantime, I discovered there's a pretty nice movie theater a seven or so minute walk away (the Ritz). I expect I'll be back.

After 40 hours travel and 10 hour time difference it would have been nice when arriving at 7 am with a sign informing me and others who wanted to contact with the reception that it opens at 9 am. Eventually, i was promised a room at 11 am, but that was not the case after all. And then promised an upgrade. But the door was not in order... so i finally got my room, in the backyard where there is a pub at weekends. Too small bedsheet, so the madrass was exposed every night.. good location though

Love staying here! Rooms are beautiful. Always nice and clean with everything you need. Bistro food is fantastic. Love the vibe and decor of the pub. Light rail stop is right there and walk to the beach. Plenty of coffee/brekky options close by. Staff are always so helpful and friendly

The proximity of this hotel to the light rail is a huge advantage if you want to visit the city or the opera house/Circular Quat. Even though the hotel is over a bar, the noise couldn’t be heard in the hotel room. I would definitely stay here again!

The food from the Bistro was very good. The staff were friendly and professional. The bed was comfortable with the best pillows. A great central location. We enjoyed our weekend.
