The look and the feel of the hotel was fab and the staff were really friendly. Underground and tram stops close by. The hot tubs on the roof were amazing and such a nice way to chill after long day sightseeing. The only problem was the understaffing of the roof top bar and restaurant. We waited over an hour for our drinks and then they only brought the cocktails and not the cup of tea so we left. The staff were really apologetic but they were just so understaffed ☹️ Because of this we didn’t go back to eat there.

This hotel is great! It is just steps away from the metro to get to Amsterdam central. The beds were so comfortable! We rented bikes from the hotel to get around the city, and they were far better than other bikes we rented in the city. The rooftop bar and hot tubs are a great addition! Definitely would stay here again!

Fun bar and coffee in the lobby, free sauna and hot tubs for guests, underground club, free live music throughout the weekend. Room was very nice and comfortable. The hotel is right by a metro station. Would stay here again and recommend to friends visiting Amsterdam.

Loved our weekend at Volkshotel. Room was spacious and clean. Staff were extra helpful, food in the restaurant and bar/cafe downstairs was great. Sauna and hot tubs in the roof were excellent. Yoga on Saturday morning was superb. Really close to a metro station- 10 mins to the city centre, supermarket just up the road. We would absolutely stay here again.

I loved my stay at Volkshotel! It’s well-connected and just steps from the metro, making it super convenient to get around. The interior is hip and stylish, with lots of personality. The highlight for me was definitely the sauna and jacuzzi — such a great way to unwind. I had hoped to work from the coworking area, but it was often full and a bit tricky to find a seat. Still, overall a fantastic experience and I’d gladly return!

We booked 5 days at Volkhotel to celebrate my partner's PhD submission. This hotel was perfect for the occasion. We could sleep in, have a luxurious buffet breakfast in the 7th floor, enjoy some of the cultural activities and shows, have a break playing some table tennis at Riet, stop for glühwine at the Veerkplats conversation pit, and end the day in the 8th floor sauna! The rooms were spotless, staff were helpful with all of our special requests, and truthfully I'm a little bit sad having to leave home today. We could not have asked for a more relaxing holiday. Thank you so much!

Incredible stay at Volkshotel! Would stay there again and would recommend it to any friends and family. Minutes walk to the metro station, grocery store just a block or 2 away. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and have all the necessities.

We enjoyed our stay. The shared wash area in the cabins room had quite a few drain moths, and these got into our cabin at times. Otherwise very clean. It would be nice to offer a laundry service as the nearest laundry mat is a 10 min walk away.

Great hotel, excellent staff. The breakfast buffet is delicious plus the cafe in the lobby is perfect for an afternoon coffee or after dinner drink. The room was spacious and clean. You can rent bikes at the front desk. Very easy to get around, underground station right outside the hotel!

The hotel itself is very accommodating and accessible but we stayed in the rooms in the cabin and the rooms are super small with no storage space. No tv or windows. The shared bathrooms were also not cleaned during our stay. There were others staying in the cabin so the bathrooms should have been cleaned daily. I would only recommend as a layover hotel.

Volkshotel is a modern hotel with lots of activity in the lobby, clean rooms which I would characterize as "upscale college dorm room" and a great location. Lobby is noisy and humming with everyone working away on their laptops and drinking coffee from the coffee bar. Only drawback is that this activity spills out onto the street at night, so it is quite noisy when you are trying to sleep. The restaurant on the 7th floor is excellent, good food, great service and a nice view.

Værelset var markant mindre i virkeligheden og sengen meget ubehagelig at sove i fordi der nærmest ikke var nogen madras. Vi delte bad og toilet med 5 andre værelser hvilket var meget mere end vi havde regnet med. Personalet var venlig og det eneste som trak oplevelsen op.

Super fun and hip! We got the Quad room with bunk beds, and it was clean, spacious, and perfect for the three of us. Possible Cons: -Road noise was a little loud, could also hear some flushing of toilets from other rooms. But these were too bad at night when sleeping. The lobby is also used as a local hangout/work spot, which I found nice, but if you get nervous about strangers being allowed into a hotel lobby, be aware. -Very hipster and young, perfect if you are into that vibe, feels very much like what you expect from Amsterdam, but might be overwhelming for older folks. VPNs are blocked on Hotel WiFi, so if your job requires you to access a VPN, prepare to use a hotspot.

The vibe was great at this hotel! Friendly helpful staff despite our late arrival, convenient to public transportation, everything you need within the building on a rainy day. Directions from the train station were spot on - it was easy to get here. Room was clean and comfortable, there was coffee and tea for free, beds were comfortable, we had a balcony which was fun. Only slight problem was A/C was slow and fairly ineffective but overall, a great place to stay at a good price in Amsterdam

It should be noted that the extra small room has no place to put your suitcase except the floor, which makes it unsuitable for people with mobility issues. Staff was helpful and moved me to a larger room but it was a bit of a hassle TBH and the interaction caused unnecessary negative emotions on my part, being confronted with my disability etc.. It appeared as if my needs were unusual, which seems strange. The beats from the club are also definitely audible on the 3rd floor and I would have not been able to sleep had it not been for my industrial grade earplugs. Other than that this is a super special place and a great value for money and with some minor user experience improvements for people with mobility issues who don't quite need a MiVa room it would be much more accessible across mobility and age categories. Hotels need places for people to easily put their suitcase down that are not the bed. Those folding thingies in traditional hotelrooms have an actual purpose! Get Some! Putting a suitcase on the bed after everything it's been through is gross.

The hotel looks great and has a lot of spaces for working and chilling. You can take the Metro in a couple of minutes to de Centre. However, while I stayed in a small room for one, the noise was annoying. I heard the cars passing by all night. The room has very thin walls so I could hear the guests next door (talking and using the badthroom). And if it's raining, you will hear leaks outside the window all night. Is a very good hotel, but if you are looking for silence and calm, this is not the right choice.

Got the XL room for 4x folks and it surpassed all our expectations - extremely spacious, clean and the hotel itself was an amazing mix of work/vacation folks that made it feel safe at all times. The club downstairs and restaurant on the rooftop was also a 10/10. the location of this hotel couldnt be any better. 100% recco Volkshotel for any stay in amsterdam. i will def be back.

The hotel is trying too hard to have a cool industrial look, however the rooms are just impractical. In the room, there’s a weird desk/shelf thing that’s impractical for either and takes up far too much room. The blind lets in too much light. The air conditioning is too loud. The ‘open’ wardrobe is completely useless. For €500 for 2 nights I would expect a lot more.

This is a great hotel with a professional staff. If I had a question they were quick to help. I wanted to walk the stairs instead of elevator they showed me where that was and walked me over to the area. You check in everywhere with your room card so its super safe and secure. The breakfast was amazing with great views. The roof top sauna was an experience I wont soon forget. The room as quiet the bed was comfortable. The price made sense. This is a great stay for solo, business, couples or small groups. They will take great care of you and have everything you need in house, but a lot to walk to nearby. Metro was 4min walk and you can take to Centraal Station and then off you go throughout the city or the Netherlands at large. This will be my go-to accommodation when I stay in Amsterdam. Thank you for everything!

Volkshotel is probably the best hotel I've ever stayed in. It's the first time I've thought "I'll be staying at this hotel next time!" It's such a cool and inviting space with so much going on, it's located right next to public transit, there are tons of wonderful restaurants nearby as well as an Albert Heijn less than a block away. The room was cute and cozy. The staff was friendly. Great vibes, great times.

Nice hotel. Only a star off since a LOT echoed from other rooms if people were loud. I also felt really bad for the bar staff upstairs. I don’t know what kind of management they’re suffering under but the system they’re forced to use is insufficient and ridiculous. It took me ages to pay a drink bill because of how their system worked. It was NOT an issue of their servers and bartenders. If anything I’m amazed they didn’t quit.

Really good position for getting around the city, comfortable rooms but the staff stood out the most - really helpful throughout. Bags were lost at schipol, I gave them a heads up I would be late, by the time I got there I'd been upgraded to a studio apartment unit. Breakfast upstairs gives you great views of the city, good range to start the day with. Will definitely stay there again.

Very nice and laid back. Great roof bar and a huge bar with food and drinks near the reception area. The location is a bit outside the city center but definitely within walking distance and very close to the Metro. Will definitely visit again next time in Amsterdam.

Hotel is in a great location, close to two Metro stations and only 4 stops to Amsterdam Central. Probably suit younger couples better as even though we where on only the 2 floor we couple still here the Music coming from the 7th floor that goes on till 6am at the weekends. Still good value and clean. Nice bar down stairs

While it may seem out of the way it really isn’t and you get a great deal because of that. The metro is literally across the street and the tram stop is at the end of the block and will get you to all main attractions in 15-30m. Tip: buy a GVP transit pass, add it to your phone’s wallet, and then just scan on any transport (you can even get to the airport with it). The hotel is also a beautiful 20m walk from Albert Cuyp market, which has authentic stroopwaffel, amazing food, and cute little shops. The hotel itself is really nice and clean and very hip while still being welcoming. It has a lot of options to hang out too, including later when everything is closed: the lobby cafe (good sandwiches and pastries), an upstairs bar with city views, a downstairs club, and rooftop hot tubs and sauna. Staff in all these areas were always friendly and helpful. The rooms themselves were very clean, comfortable, and had nice amenities like shampoo and shower gel, hairdryer, and lots of towels. If you want to be left alone in your unpacked chaos, they don’t clean the room until the 4th day unless requested, which I appreciated. Overall this is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in and I would definitely recommend and would stay here again for sure.

Volkshotel: • The Volkshotel was the perfect place to stay during our first ever trip to Amsterdam. The hotel is eclectic, artsy, and full of character. The reception staff was welcoming and helpful. The rooms are small, but that is right in the info so no surprises there! Beds and shower were good! We enjoyed the lounge and workspace areas as well as the rooftop tubs and restaurant. Lots to enjoy right at the hotel but also very quick and easy to get to the metro and get anywhere. The area itself had some nice cafes, a supermarket and felt nice and safe. Definitely far from the main action but we found that kind of refreshing. And the action is just a quick walk/metro/tram away. Oh, and we were there through a weekend but did not have trouble with noise from the club, etc.

Unique style and personality, well equipped and clean room, very friendly staff. Breakfast slightly chaotic in organisation but otherwise pleasant. Not on the doorstep of any major tourist hotspots, but very convenient public transport connections in an already highly walkable city. Wish I had a longer stay.

Wonderful stay~ super unique and hip hotel with helpful, friendly staff. Bottom floor is a mix of space for business meet ups, coffee spots and relaxing. Chill vibe all around in this well located hotel right near the metro. Decent dining options nearby. Some struggles with the room air and shower but the views were amazing and the size sufficient.
