The front desk staff was so friendly, the check in and check out was very easy. Room is clean, each bunk in the room has its own bed light and electronic charge. The kitchen is very big, hot water and free tea bags were provided all the time. I would recommend this place. The location is in the center of the Calgary downtown, walk in distance to everything nearby. Very safe and convenient place.

It’s an older building surrounded by skyscappers. It feels like the area is in a major change. Every thing was good but remember that it’s an older building. The kitchen is smaller, the showers are in small numbers, the beds dont offer intimacy. But if you want somerhing Downtown cheep, that is a wonderful option.

Body wash was always empty. When I told to counter staff in the midnight, he said he can't do anything. And I went to eat breakfast at 09:00, but didn't have waffles anymore. So terrible!

Stay there was horrible. From the time we stepped into the lobby, the smell stinks with kitchen Indian food. Lots of people sleeping in their dirty couches, and over boisterous guests. The room was even terrible. Bathroom door is so heavy and needs to put a temporary door stopper to remain open. Bed linens are below expectation. Customer service is not too friendly. Kitchen sink is dirty and even has dirty dishes. Cups and glasses are super un-hygienic. We did not even took our free breakfast as there's only cereals with dirty bowls. This is not a good place to stay considering the price. I should have stayed in a higher end hotel for just a few more dollars. By the way, carpets are really super dirty. Airbnb houses are waaay better, with super nice hosts. We paid $159 per night, and they don't even have an ice maker?! Alt hotel's is just $10 higher... should have booked that.😡

Will not be staying here again. 4 bed dorm was a private room converted into 4 beds, with one bed right in the middle. Very weird placement and no where to store your bags. People are extremely loud and I did not have any sleep. This was my second time and I can confirm that both times have been terrible. Bathrooms were not clean or refilled.

Worth the money. A lot of amenities and breakfast! Onyl issue was there was no proper ventilation and the room smelled like dirty clothes and sweat. It was also very hot at night.

個人部屋は広くてとても清潔で良かったです。シャワーも熱くて洗面台もトイレも全て綺麗に清掃が行き届いていました。男性スタッフはとても親切でした。唯一、朝食の終了時間を聞かされていなくて、9:20にダイニングに行って、システムがよく分からなかったので受付の女性のスタッフに聞いたら「もう朝食は9:30で終了です」と言って、スタッフが目の前に食べ物を持っているのに一切朝食をもらえませんでした、それはとても不親切だと思います。その事以外はとても良かったです。

The reason I’m leaving this negative review is because disgusting blonde female receptionist at the front desk in the morning. Same individual who checked my luggage just the previous day approached me while people were having breakfast the following morning asking me to identify myself as a guest in front of 8-10 people. The other staffs were nice and polite. The facility kept clean overall. Great location too.

The hostel states there would be breakfast but that’s little to nothing with so many people in the limited dining space. The staff was very rude when I asked them questions especially the one at night. I asked them for a plastic bag and they were so rude when I told them I need a medium sized bag and said that doesn’t help me in an extremely rude way so I had to tell them I don’t have dimensions for plastic bags memorized. I was talking to them in a low voice as it was night and they very rudely said speak normally. I asked the staff to look into the broken shower curtain and they said can’t do anything will report without being nice about it. The washroom had free toiletries compartment which was only empty the whole time I was staying in the hostel.

Perfect location as well as safe and quiet. Moreover, the staff are friendly and accommodating. The hostel is a walking distance to the City Hall station and other attractions in downtown Calgary.

This is typical of a HI hostel but raised the bar. Though didn't partake in the free breakfast due to fasting but the place was awesome. Friendly and helpful staff and always ready to assist. Right at the City Center and very close to all forms of transportation. I rate it A+++

My Go To place to stay whenever I am in Calgary. Centrally located in East Village (right across from Studio Bell), it is very convenient to walk to the City Hall train station in 5 minutes and get to places you need to go. Friendly staff and the facilities are kept clean and well maintained. Always end up making friends at the hostel with other fellow travellers.

The greatest location in downtown Calgary. And the have cheapest transportation to Banff. The breakfast is quite rich and good comparing to other even hotel. Luggage storage is 10 bucks.

A great one night stay. Very convenient for the city centre, for bars, restaurants etc. An interesting mix of hotel and hostel. Nice to mix with other guests at shared breakfast tables. It was the first time I have washed my own breakfast dishes in a hotel, but nothing wrong with that!! It is good to step out of one’s comfort zone occasionally😁😁😁👌
