It was our first time staying in a Marstons Inn but really was pleasantly surprised! Lovely location on Balloch, quiet room and fairly big. Lots of parking and restaurants alongside was decent pub food. Only disappointing bits was air conditioning was there (big thumbs up in the gorgeous weather we had) but sadly it didn’t really work… set at lowest temp of 19 it never moved off the first fan speed. If you stood next to it you could feel a slight cooling. Otherwise the family room we had was really good. Very clean and bigger than expected. I’d say a half star above the premier inn type. All in all we had a great stay and would definitely consider Marston Inns for future northern stays….

The Queen of the Loch is ideally located at the tip of Loch Lomond. The hotel is nice, relatively updated and clean. However, there is no elevator.

Loved it. Super friendly staff and very well priced. EV charging points and a Scottish Breakfast that's well worth it. I'm about to be a regular monthly visitor so I'll be staying here again. Thanks for a lovely stay you magnificent people!

Other than it being insanely hot in the hotel, it was great! Clean, comfortable, quiet, big car park, can walk into town in 10 minutes. There is their pub, a MacDonalds and Chinese restaurant on the doorstep. You can easily walk to Loch Lomond, the forest/park, pubs and shops. The hotel isn't staffed and you check in inside the pub (separate building) but it was easy and the staff there were lovely.

This was our first time staying at a pub/hotel. It was a lively place but fortunately the rooms were in an adjacent lodge. No elevator but only one set of interior stairs. Room was clean and comfortable if a little sparse, with tea and coffee in the room. Everything worked well and pains were taken to get us to reach out if not satisfied. It was very obvious that the business is striving to continue make customers happy and they are doing a good job. Loch Lomond Shores with boat tours (recommend), an aquarium, a raptors sanctuary and other attractions is in easy walking distance and makes this a nice family weekend destination.

Accommodation was separate to the pub, a very short walk across the car park. The unit was very secure, only accessible with key card. The room was large and very clean. All staff in the pub were friendly and helpful, particularly the manager who was overseeing breakfast service. Plenty of car parking spaces with some electric points. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will book again.

Toilet seat was loose and there was mould on the bathroom ceiling. The room was spacious and well presented, good power shower. One of the barmen in the restaurant/pub wasn't friendly or approachable, didn't really want to help and clearly didn't want to be there.

Check in process unclear, with no signage on reception pouring you to the adjoining pub. Went to the pub for evening meal, they are part of the same complex and was ignored for 10 minutes waiting to be seated. In the end we left and went somewhere else. Went to go to bed and discovered dirty sheets. Only positive for this stay was breakfast.

Saggy mattress, had to walk to next building for bathmat, heavy loud doors, key card required to enter building and turn on lights so couldn’t leave someone in room if wanted to go out with key. Should have spent a little more to stay somewhere comfortable. But the town is quite lovely!

I’ll admit checking into the property inside of a restaurant was not expected. The check-in notes should probably mention this. The servers in the restaurant were very good especially Natasha. The WiFi was pretty much worthless. The property was clean and had ample parking spots.

Did the job as an overnight stay, although pillows are flimsy and bad quality and the mattress was like a pancake at the head-end. Overall it was fine in the end, but I understand other people might struggle on that mattress. Had breakfast at the restaurant which was amazing, staff were all friendly and attentive. Great experience for an early start.

Rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable, but very hot and not great air conditioning. Door lock was broken and toilet was loose, we reported both to the staff but only the toilet seat was fixed. We went over to the restaurant for dinner on our last night and because we hadn't made a reservation we were told "the kitchen is closed and we only have enough food for those who have booked". Clearly this was a lie as I don't know how the restaurant could possibly know what everyone was going to eat unless they had all pre-ordered.

A suitable accommodation for families but not for couples or solo travellers. The area isn’t the most convenient (but only a 10 min walk to the train station). The staff didn’t reign in loud children as they played on the restaurant floor or stop them from running (parents fault too). During check in I needed to wait about 20 minutes in the restaurant area to be attended to. Overall, wont be back or recommend it to others.

We reserved a twin room for two non couple adults. On arriving we found that we were given a double (1 bed). When we asked to either change or for staff to separate the beds, we were told no one was available. We offered to separate the beds ourselves if we could just have the linens and were told that staff didnt have access to the linen cupboard. We were given one extra comforter and tokd that the beds would be made right in the morning. We separated the beds ourselves and improvised with what we had. The next day staff didnt touch the room...no new linens, no new towels, no tea bags, nothing. Our final day we were given two twin comforters, but our improvised linens (improvised by us) were not changed. Staff was never available to assist us as they were busy with patrons of the bar and restaurant. There is no dedicated staff for the hotel. There is no closet, no space to dry wet clothes (for a hotel in the Scottish highlands), very few amenities. I would not recommend staying here.

Nice stay, but the hotel needs designated staff. At bust times staff are obviously prioritising the restaurant and foot trade but at the detriment of overnight guests. Overall a good location and food was fine.

We were unable to have breakfast at the hotel as there was only one member of staff on duty (not her fault!). The queue was huge, everyone was waiting ages to get there orders taken and everyone was sitting waiting on their food. We left as after 20 minutes we hadn’t even given our drinks order. They need more staff on to make it run smoothly.

It was only about a five-minute walk from one of the Loch Lomond cruise tour companies, which made it really quick and easy to get to. The stay itself was comfortable and relaxing too!

Attending a family wedding in the area, the staff in the hotel were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area, we decided to eat there for dinner and weren’t disappointed! The food was delicious, there was also a quiz night held by Chris too! And we were lucky enough to win, breakfasts on both mornings were great

Great value and location. Our only minor quibble was on the Saturday morning they had no bacon or brown sauce as their suppliers had not delivered. There is a Coop within 1.5 miles of the hotel. We almost went over to the MacDonalds next door.
