Erg mooi hotel met ruime en schone kamers, een simpele maar relaxte spa enmet kwaliteit eten en drinken. Wel was de service in het restaurant zowel bij het diner als bij het ontbijt, enorm traag.

Great location just a short walk from the main square and shops. The hotel is modern, stylish, and very well presented. Our room was spacious with a comfy bed, sofa, and clever design touches—like the hidden AC unit behind artwork. The bathroom was of exceptionally high quality with great toiletries, and the in-room TV with Chromecast was a real bonus for international travellers. Overall, the hotel feels high-end and comfortable, but there were a few small drawbacks. The parking advertised as on-site was actually a 5-minute walk (or 10-minute drive) away, which was a little inconvenient. A nearby church bell rings frequently in the evenings—not the hotel’s fault, but worth noting for light sleepers. The roof light in the room let in natural daylight instead of using a traditional window, but it didn’t seal completely, making the room bright early in the morning. Lastly, breakfast was served on a tiered stand with a varied selection. While the eco-friendly approach is appreciated, we felt a made-to-order menu would reduce waste and allow more personal choice. The hotel is situated in the historic center of Middelburg. It is a boutique hotel, all the rooms are different in style and size. I had the Grand DeLuxe Room #25 on the 2nd floor. The room was under the roof, spacious and comfortable with a bath and a separate shower. The decor was in good condition and everything was very clean. The only thing about the room: the two electricity sockets are on floor level and to plug in your telephone, laptop etc., you first have to crawl on your knees in a dark corner to disconnect the lights before you can use your electronics. Second: It should be mentioned on the homepage that there is no lift/elevator in the hotel. My room was on the second floor and to reach only by two very steep stone spiral stairs. I am elderly and have a walking disability and to walk these stairs up and down was very disagreeable for me. It said on the room information there is no elevator but only when you click for more information. It should be more clear that not all rooms are accessible to elderly people with heart/circulation problems (like myself), wheelchairs or to people with baby prams. The staff was very helpful in getting my luggage down (I couldn’t have managed on my own) but especially when you are not completely mobile, it feels uncomfortable to depend for help on others. Even with a handicap I want to travel and feel independent. That said: the staff was friendly and helpful. For atmosphere, luxury and location: 9. Accesibity: 4.

Ein schönes Hotel im historischen Zentrum von Middelburg, dennoch sehr ruhig. Die Fußgängerzone und viele schöne Lokale mit Außenbereichen gleich um die Ecke. Das Ein- und Auschecken war problemlos, alle Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Sehr entspannt war das Frühstück, das am Tisch serviert wurde. Das Dreibettzimmer für 2 Erwachsene und ein Kind war komfortabel, gemütlich und sehr sauber. Ein kleines Manko war der fehlende Schrank, offene Regale sind Geschmackssache.. Geparkt wurde im zentralen Parkhaus am Fluss, zu Fuß in wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und würden dieses Hotel noch einmal wählen.

Hotel geschikter voor vakantie dan voor een werkbezoek. Om op de kamer te komen moet je een trap op en met koffers is dat zwaar. Ook voor mensen met een zwak hart of andere problemen kan de trap problematisch zijn. Er is overigens wel iemand bereid om te helpen met het dragen van de koffer. Het eten in het restaurant is zeker lekker. Storend is dat er in de kamer geen goede spiegel met verlichting is, dus op een goede manier je make-up of je haar doen is ingewikkeld. Ook storend is het slechte ontbijt. Je kon alleen om half 8, half 9 of half 10 ontbijten en er was geen keuze. Je krijgt ontbijt aan je tafel met een vast setje van afgebakken broodjes en twee boterhammen en beleg (kaas en vleeswaren). En een jus d'orange en een schaaltje yoghurt met jam (gezoet) en muesli (eveneens gezoet). Twee keer gevraagd om fruit, maar dat was niet beschikbaar. Gezond ontbijten is dus hier niet mogelijk. Je krijgt gewoon wat de mensen van het hotel bedacht hebben.

Stayed in the Azur apartment, located in a separate building. Well equipped with a nice deck. Comfy bed and good Wi-Fi. Excellent and ample breakfast, enough for lunch too. Served outdoors when weather permits. Good for bikers with secure parking in the garden and public bike parking right in front. Location perfect for shopping. A few minor issues such as soap/shampoo dispensers empty for two days, but overall a very good value hotel. P.S. Mr Roosevelt, hope you can enjoy a vacation soon, it will be well deserved.

Le séjour avait bien commencé, la chambre appartement avait l’air très bien à 150 m du bâtiment principal mais avis aux voyageurs : vérifiez bien que rien ne manque car chez nous pas de savon et pas de shampoing. Normalement cela devrait être un détail réglé en deux minutes mais la réception qui devait être présente 24/24 a promis d’apporter un set complet à 2 reprises mais personne n’est jamais venu alors que j’ai passé 3 heures de 22h à 1h du matin à attendre et à téléphoner. Bref …..service médiocre et peu sympathique pour rester poli. Hôtel que je ne peux pas conseiller.

The good: Comfortable bed, good shower, central location, friendly staff, good breakfast. The bad: Parking is remote, shower door noisy when opened, you got to lug your own luggage up the stairs (no elevator), signs of leakage and mold on the ceiling, noisy church bell close by.

The hotel is situated in the historic center of Middelburg. It is a boutique hotel, all the rooms are different in style and size. I had the Grand DeLuxe Room #25 on the 2nd floor. The room was under the roof, spacious and comfortable with a bath and a separate shower. The decor was in good condition and everything was very clean. The only thing about the room: the two electricity sockets are on floor level and to plug in your telephone, laptop etc., you first have to crawl on your knees in a dark corner to disconnect the lights before you can use your electronics. Second: It should be mentioned on the homepage that there is no lift/elevator in the hotel. My room was on the second floor and to reach only by two very steep stone spiral stairs. I am elderly and have a walking disability and to walk these stairs up and down was very disagreeable for me. It said on the room information there is no elevator but only when you click for more information. It should be more clear that not all rooms are accessible to elderly people with heart/circulation problems (like myself), wheelchairs or to people with baby prams. The staff was very helpful in getting my luggage down (I couldn’t have managed on my own) but especially when you are not completely mobile, it feels uncomfortable to depend for help on others. Excellent service in a nicely designed space with plenty of amenities. I loved having a TV were the chromecast actually worked so I could listen to some music while relaxing. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast spread was simply too much for any one person. We were cycling and needed fuel and not one person came close to finishing what was provided. Everything was very tasty. Though I had a room facing the square on ground level, things were quiet and relaxing. Plenty to do within walking distance. A real gem on our trip and worth a return someday.

First world problems, I know - in the September ‘23 heat wave we were hot and bothered to find that the “aircon’ in the room was a unit that didn’t work, and piped hot air around the room - not only that, we were on the ground floor and to have the pipe exit the room meant leaving the door to the terrace open for anyone to be able to enter our room if they had access to the hotel. We raised concerns with the staff and they were very nice and said it would be looked into, however there was no change in the 2 (almost unbearable) nights we spent here, other than to provide us with a fan (which also moved the hot air around).

Le séjour avait bien commencé, la chambre appartement avait l’air très bien à 150 m du bâtiment principal mais avis aux voyageurs : vérifiez bien que rien ne manque car chez nous pas de savon et pas de shampoing. Normalement cela devrait être un détail réglé en deux minutes mais la réception qui devait être présente 24/24 a promis d’apporter un set complet à 2 reprises mais personne n’est jamais venu alors que j’ai passé 3 heures de 22h à 1h du matin à attendre et à téléphoner. Bref …..service médiocre et peu sympathique pour rester poli. Hôtel que je ne peux pas conseiller.

The Roosevelt is een prachtig, hotel in het centrum van Middelburg. Mooi ingerichte, ruime kamers, van alle gemakken voorzien. Waar het echter misgaat is bij de zeer beperkte servicegerichtheid van de medewerkers en de rigide timeslot-regels die het hotel bij reserveringen voor ontbijt en sauna. Daarnaast kan het natuurlijk gebeuren dat er iets niet helemaal goed genoteerd wordt bij het boeken/reserveren. In plaats van het oplossen van de fout wijzen de medewerkers naar elkaar, benadrukken ze keer op keer dat zij het zelf niet fout gedaan hebben en laten overduidelijk blijken dat ze de klant maar lastig vinden, dit in plaats van te kijken hoe ze het probleem op kunnen lossen. Een hele nare en onwelkome ervaring.

Gezellig ontvangst bij aankomst, persoonlijk naar de kamer gebracht. Erg leuk pand, verborgen pareltje vind ik. Leuk dat alle kamers anders zijn. Ontbijt was lekker en voldoende. Gezellig gegeten met vrienden van buiten het hotel. Konden we ontbijt bijboeken voor een mooie prijs. Al met al een aanrader en komen we zeker terug.

Nous avons passé le week-end pour mon anniversaire dans cet hôtel situé au cœur de Middelburg. Nous pouvons tout faire à pied. La décoration est moderne et sobre, l’hôtel ayant été fait dans une ancienne bâtisse. Le petit déjeuner est copieux. Nous avons également dîner au restaurant de l’hôtel dont la cuisine est très raffinée. Un délice. La literie est comfortable. Le personnel est très gentil. En bref, excellent séjour. Vous pouvez réserver les yeux fermés. Nous y retournerons avec plaisir.

Ein schönes Hotel im historischen Zentrum von Middelburg, dennoch sehr ruhig. Die Fußgängerzone und viele schöne Lokale mit Außenbereichen gleich um die Ecke. Das Ein- und Auschecken war problemlos, alle Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Sehr entspannt war das Frühstück, das am Tisch serviert wurde. Das Dreibettzimmer für 2 Erwachsene und ein Kind war komfortabel, gemütlich und sehr sauber. Ein kleines Manko war der fehlende Schrank, offene Regale sind Geschmackssache.. Geparkt wurde im zentralen Parkhaus am Fluss, zu Fuß in wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und würden dieses Hotel noch einmal wählen.

Ein schönes Hotel im historischen Zentrum von Middelburg, dennoch sehr ruhig. Die Fußgängerzone und viele schöne Lokale mit Außenbereichen gleich um die Ecke. Das Ein- und Auschecken war problemlos, alle Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Sehr entspannt war das Frühstück, das am Tisch serviert wurde. Das Dreibettzimmer für 2 Erwachsene und ein Kind war komfortabel, gemütlich und sehr sauber. Ein kleines Manko war der fehlende Schrank, offene Regale sind Geschmackssache.. Geparkt wurde im zentralen Parkhaus am Fluss, zu Fuß in wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und würden dieses Hotel noch einmal wählen.

Superbe séjour à l’hôtel Roosevelt situé au centre de Middelburg. Tout se fait à pied depuis l’hôtel. Notre chambre-appartment était spacieux et disposait d’une terrasse. Idéal pour un séjour en couple avec 1 enfant. Je reviendrai !

Kamer was uitstekend. Ontbijt liet te wensen over. Met name het in shifts kunnen deelnemen. En het aan tafel uitgeserveerde ontbijt. Men gaat ervan uit dat iedereen datgene lust wat het hotel voor jouw ontbijt uitkiest. Zo werkt dat dus niet. De broodjes waren wel erg mini, het beleg heel erg afgepast. Ik kies liever zelf wat ik eet.

Nous avons passé le week-end pour mon anniversaire dans cet hôtel situé au cœur de Middelburg. Nous pouvons tout faire à pied. La décoration est moderne et sobre, l’hôtel ayant été fait dans une ancienne bâtisse. Le petit déjeuner est copieux. Nous avons également dîner au restaurant de l’hôtel dont la cuisine est très raffinée. Un délice. La literie est comfortable. Le personnel est très gentil. En bref, excellent séjour. Vous pouvez réserver les yeux fermés. Nous y retournerons avec plaisir.

Hotel geschikter voor vakantie dan voor een werkbezoek. Om op de kamer te komen moet je een trap op en met koffers is dat zwaar. Ook voor mensen met een zwak hart of andere problemen kan de trap problematisch zijn. Er is overigens wel iemand bereid om te helpen met het dragen van de koffer. Het eten in het restaurant is zeker lekker. Storend is dat er in de kamer geen goede spiegel met verlichting is, dus op een goede manier je make-up of je haar doen is ingewikkeld. Ook storend is het slechte ontbijt. Je kon alleen om half 8, half 9 of half 10 ontbijten en er was geen keuze. Je krijgt ontbijt aan je tafel met een vast setje van afgebakken broodjes en twee boterhammen en beleg (kaas en vleeswaren). En een jus d'orange en een schaaltje yoghurt met jam (gezoet) en muesli (eveneens gezoet). Twee keer gevraagd om fruit, maar dat was niet beschikbaar. Gezond ontbijten is dus hier niet mogelijk. Je krijgt gewoon wat de mensen van het hotel bedacht hebben.

Excellent service in a nicely designed space with plenty of amenities. I loved having a TV were the chromecast actually worked so I could listen to some music while relaxing. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast spread was simply too much for any one person. We were cycling and needed fuel and not one person came close to finishing what was provided. Everything was very tasty. Though I had a room facing the square on ground level, things were quiet and relaxing. Plenty to do within walking distance. A real gem on our trip and worth a return someday.

The hotel is situated in the historic center of Middelburg. It is a boutique hotel, all the rooms are different in style and size. I had the Grand DeLuxe Room #25 on the 2nd floor. The room was under the roof, spacious and comfortable with a bath and a separate shower. The decor was in good condition and everything was very clean. The only thing about the room: the two electricity sockets are on floor level and to plug in your telephone, laptop etc., you first have to crawl on your knees in a dark corner to disconnect the lights before you can use your electronics.
