We had a lovely stay at this hotel! The room was very clean and comfortable, and the view from our window was absolutely beautiful—definitely a highlight. There’s a restaurant on-site that looked great, though we didn’t have the chance to try the food this time. One thing to be aware of: there are stairs to get to the rooms, which made carrying luggage a bit challenging. Also, the parking lot is a bit beat up with some uneven spots, so just be cautious when pulling in or walking through. Despite those minor issues, the overall experience was great. A peaceful, scenic place that we’d definitely consider returning to.

A primo impatto rimani un pò basito perchè da fuori sembra una catapecchia abbandonata poi entri dentro e ti ritrovi in un allegro American Bar frequentato da locali e camionisti. Le stanze sono abbastanza grandi per lo standard Islandese, pulite, c'è caffè e un frigo a disposizione per gli ospiti. Cena tipica a base di agnello e colazione molto buone.

There’s no getting away from the fact this is an isolated spot, but we knew that when we booked. The in-house restaurant has a great choice of dishes and our food was lovely. Nice communal lounge for guests to use. Great choice for those travelling the ring road

Von außen waren wir erst verunsichert, ob wir wirklich reingehen wollen. Es liegt direkt an der Ringstraße und sieht sehr in die Jahre gekommen aus. Wir sind dann rein und waren positiv überrascht. Man stand zwar direkt im Restaurant, aber das Personal war sehr freundlich. Einen Fahrstuhl gibt es nicht. Das Zimmer war passend groß, das Bad könnte etwas größer sein. Leider hatten wir ein Zimmer direkt über der Küche. Die Dunstabzugshaube oder etwas ähnliches verlief direkt bei uns lang, wodurch es echt laut war (ein ständiges Brummen). Auf Anfrage, kam eine Dame mit aufs Zimmer und hat es sich angehört. Sie hat uns direkt ein anderes Zimmer angeboten, aber sie sagte auch, dass es nach dem Schließen der Küche leiser wird. Das war dann zwischen halb 12 und 12 abends. Es war ok, aber hätte ich gewusst das es so lange dauert, hätte ich das Zimmer doch gewechselt. Das Frühstück war ok, aber auch kein Highlight, es war aber alles da, um satt zu werden. Für eine Nacht vollkommen ausreichend und eben direkt an der Ringstraße gelegen. Drum herum ist aber nichts sonst zu finden, außer eine Tankstelle. Wir würden es dennoch weiterempfehlen.

The property was right on Route 1. There's a restaurant on the first floor and they have really amazing food. There are lots of places to go to, but you’ll have to drive by the mountains which all had mostly paved roads.The room itself is clean. There's a common room for coffee and tea, and a fridge that can be used. The staff were friendly.

This is a hard review to leave. The staff was fantastic. The restaurant was also fantastic. The rooms were yuck! Our room smelled so bad we had to sleep with windows open in the cold. The rooms are just in horrible shape. The worst of all our stays in Iceland. But for sure stop for dinner!

The place was a bit rustic, but we enjoyed our stay. The attached restaurant was good and served a simple but nice breakfast. The hot water in the bathroom gave off a sulfur odor due to - I think - geothermal heating. Overall, though, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

This was a great stay for the one night we needed before heading back to Reykjavik! Very convenient as it is right off the 1 HWY, loved that there was a communal fridge upstairs for the guests and the restaurant downstairs was excellent! The bathroom smelled moldy when the water ran...other than that the room was great!

This was a good stop on the ring road when there are not many options in the north. Room was clean, cozy comfortable and adequate. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was very good. Breakfast was greatly appreciated, but there was not as many options as other hotels we had stayed at previously. Overall a good choice for a one-night stay.

It wasn’t clean. And it was right on the highway so it was too loud to open the windows. Although diner was good the included breakfast was meager at best. It really needs a good scrub.

Right off main highway so was a little noisy at times. It does have a restaurant but any other options are a bit of a drive. Room was very clean but there was an odor in the bathroom. At times it smelt like sulfur and other times like cat urine. For a one night stop it was clean and easy to find. I wouldn’t stay here more than one night. But it did the trick!

Had a lovely one night stay at North West. Great service from lovely staff. Our room was clean and inviting, and the bed comfortable. The food we had in the restaurant was absolutely delicious! I will be dreaming about the parmesan & garlic bread sticks for a long time. The bathroom was small, but no complaints as to cleanliness or functionality.

Sieht von außen sehr ausladend aus, ziemlich heruntergekommen. Wenn man die ankommenden Autos am Parkplatz beobachtet hat, konnte man bei jedem „ist es das wirklich“ aus dem Gesicht lesen. Die Einrichtung der Zimmer ist ganz passabel und würde man so nicht erwarten beim Anblick von außen. Die Fensterscheiben sind nur einfach verglast und entsprechend laut ist es, wenn man ein Zimmer in Richtung Straße (Ringstraße 1) hat. Es ist ein beliebter Halt für Trucker, einige halten hier und lassen den Motor lange laufen. Das Badezimmer hat kein Tageslicht und riecht sehr muffig. Das Wasser aus dem Wasserhahn riecht nach Schwefel. Das Zimmer ist ziemlich klein, wir hatten 2 normal große Koffer und einen Handgepäck-Koffer. Zum Öffnen war kein Platz, man musste das auf dem Bett erledigen. Vom Restaurant waren wir positiv überrascht. Ist schön eingerichtet und die Preise sind echt in Ordnung. Geschmeckt hat es uns auch. Das Personal im Restaurant war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Frühstück wird anscheinend erst ab Mitte Mai angeboten, aufpassen!! Bei unserer Buchung steht „inbegriffenes Frühstück“ und wir haben den Zusatz mit Mitte Mai nicht gesehen. Irreführend!

This is a hard review to leave. The staff was fantastic. The restaurant was also fantastic. The rooms were yuck! Our room smelled so bad we had to sleep with windows open in the cold. The rooms are just in horrible shape. The worst of all our stays in Iceland. But for sure stop for dinner!

Had a lovely one night stay at North West. Great service from lovely staff. Our room was clean and inviting, and the bed comfortable. The food we had in the restaurant was absolutely delicious! I will be dreaming about the parmesan & garlic bread sticks for a long time. The bathroom was small, but no complaints as to cleanliness or functionality.

There’s no getting away from the fact this is an isolated spot, but we knew that when we booked. The in-house restaurant has a great choice of dishes and our food was lovely. Nice communal lounge for guests to use. Great choice for those travelling the ring road

This was a great stay for the one night we needed before heading back to Reykjavik! Very convenient as it is right off the 1 HWY, loved that there was a communal fridge upstairs for the guests and the restaurant downstairs was excellent! The bathroom smelled moldy when the water ran...other than that the room was great!

This was a good stop on the ring road when there are not many options in the north. Room was clean, cozy comfortable and adequate. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was very good. Breakfast was greatly appreciated, but there was not as many options as other hotels we had stayed at previously. Overall a good choice for a one-night stay.

Right off main highway so was a little noisy at times. It does have a restaurant but any other options are a bit of a drive. Room was very clean but there was an odor in the bathroom. At times it smelt like sulfur and other times like cat urine. For a one night stop it was clean and easy to find. I wouldn’t stay here more than one night. But it did the trick!

Tres decevant, Chambre toute petite, la literie n'est pas confortable. Pour le petit dejeuner, une box vous attend avec certes 1 sandwich, 1 fruit, 1 boisson, 1 muffin que vous devez prendre dans la chambre ! . Mais si vous voulez du lait c'est pas possible, pas de pain.... bref c'est reduit au minimum. Ce qui est regretable car cela fait restaurant ... mais il n'ouvre qu'a 11h ! Beaucoup trop cher au rapport qualite/prix

Unfortunately, this was our worst stay in Iceland. After a long day of driving, we were looking forward to sleeping, but construction directly outside our window continued until 1:00 a.m. The room was hot, but opening the window meant listening to construction all night. Check-in was frustrating because the front desk is inside the restaurant, which was closed, leaving no staff available to help. We had to contact our third-party booking company just to reach the property. The hotel also advertised a continental breakfast and a lake view. The breakfast was extremely disappointing, and there was no lake view as advertised. The ongoing construction also created several apparent safety hazards, and the property did not appear to be accessible for guests with mobility impairments. Very disappointing overall, and not a place we would recommend.

It was a terrible decision to rent from this place. There is no lake view, late night/ early morning construction, very basic breakfast with very few choices, no staff to assist with concerns and dirty dining room from dinner service the night before.
