Great place for spending time in Brisbane. We came to visit family in the area. 15 ride to city attractions. Clean but basic accommodations. We had three bedroom with two baths. No noise or smell in bathrooms when we were there. This is not a standard hotel, staff at front desk are only around certain hours. Basic housekeeping. Had washer and dryer. Best part walking distance to multiple restaurants, grocery and beautiful Victoria park

Within walking distance to southbank and city if you're fit but staff have no idea about parking. Costs $40@night at the hotel but 100mts down the rd its a max $14.50 for all day parking and FREE between 7pm-7am and all weekends.

Good location, neat and tidy, great rooms. Staff communication was terrible though. Room came with free breakfast, nothing was said or given when we checked in. Tried to find info next morning could not contact staff, even with after hours number. Went by information in the book on where to go, went there- the restaurant was closed down. Found/paid somewhere else to have breaky. Came back to hotel and they then told us where to go, lady said apparently their books need to be updated then gave me a voucher, checked the voucher and it was only valid for one person (we had a room for 7). Also no secure parking available with booking or to purchase when there as it was full.

The property, although clean, had an absolutely disgusting sewage smell. I believe its from the cleaning products and/or old mops being used. It was very expensive for a basic room. The pillows were hard and high with no options for change.

Room was clean with very comfortable bedding. Staff at check in were very helpful and friendly. Overall, a very convenient place to stay when visiting family at Kelvin Grove. A courtesy bus to Roma Street train station and bus transit centre would be a bonus for travellers.

Gabriella on the front desk was very obliging and helpful when we arrived by accommodating us and letting us check in an hour early. Also I left a bottle of wine in the room which she kindly arranged to give to friends also staying in a different aparment when I rang and explained the situation.

I am unable to comment on the property condition and area around the property as I did not venture around the property nor did I inspect it. It is situated in the hub of the QUT Kelvin Grove precinct. The facilities appeared clean and the hotel cleaning staff were lovely. Our stay at the Quest was pleasant due to its location and our needs however, it could have been much better if my interaction, by way of email communication with the General Manager (Peter) and staff member (Gabriel) was better before arriving. It started very badly because of unclear advertising via the Wotif booking site and the Quest webpage. In my circumstances, both staff members were not flexible or did not appear to understand or reason with my reasonable and rational request, which was initiated more than 48 hours before arrival. Both relied on fine print that I had missed. In my opinion, they were not listening rather than stating words like 'Thanks for bringing your concerns to our attention" and "We will review your comments to make improvements." For any person just looking quickly for accommodation (very standard for me) and not looking through all the fine print (opening all hyperlinks), there is much better value accommodation available with standard expected inclusions which are extras at Quest Kelvin Grove. Management (Peter) did not respond to emails sent.
