Country Inn & Suites Downtown Convention Center by Radisson, Gatlinburg, TN

So let's get started. Pros: * Location, Location, Location!!!! The Location/proximity from downtown is spot on! You are right in the center of downtown. When exiting the hotel street you come out right next to The Ripleys Museum. * Room: If you choose a suite (like we did) it is very comfortable so is the bathroom size. Renovated up to date. Cons: The room stinked!!!! Should shampoo the rugs and maybe clean the AC filters. Paint chips, dirty walls and broken headboard. Smoke alarm sounded 2 times on us. (They did send someone and the first time they took the batteries, then a few hours later at about 3:30am it started sounding again and we couldn't sleep, so they came in and took the entire alarm so we can rest. Parking is a huge problem in weekends. I had to park in the overflow which is a block away.

The location was great. The parking wasn't. When the place gets crowded people park and sometimes block the front of the building, you can't get around

My overall stay at this property was exactly what we were looking for. It’s a good walking distance to the main strip. The free breakfast has lots of good options and was delicious. The room was clean and spacious. My one complaint is one night a thunderstorm came through, and the parking spot in the parking lots attached to the hotel flooded. And to our surprise the next morning our car was full on water. There was no warning signs posted of possible flooding and the lady at the front desk could not help with camera footage for an insurance claim. She actually didn’t offer any help at all while we attempted to drain and soak up the water with whatever we had inside of our car. Just beware of the parking spots closest to the street

Breakfast room is VERY hot and limted food selection. Carpets need cleaned, parking is limited. Elevator was not working on day of departure so bag had to be dragged down the stairs.

It was great, parking was a little tough after 6. Also wish there was an outdoor pool.

Centrally located. Very helpful and pleasant staff (although they didn't know how to find the entrance to the national park a few blocks away). Plenty of luggage carts. Free chocolate chip cookies! Limited parking, requiring later arrivals to park in overflow parking a block away. One hook on back of bathroom door, but no towel racks, so had no place to hang towels to dry.

Had to ask for towels daily and the pool was nasty so couldn’t use it . Very disappointed.

The location was great for Gatlinburg and it was nice having parking. The pool was fun for the kids but the towels were not restocked in the pool area. Also, the gym was under construction and there was no place to work out. Breakfast was ok.

Front desk staff was rude upon check in. Property was run down and dirty. Pool and fitness center closed. Had to park in another lot away from the property because parking at the property was full. Will never go back.

Hallway carpets were very dirty. The pool was closed down all 5 days for maintenance.

We booked 2 nights and the second day we found roaches in the room. We left as soon as we found them.

I was mostly happy with our two nights spent here, but there is room for improvement. Every staff member I ran into was super friendly. The room was very quiet except for an unruly guest coming back around bar-time, and I don't consider that the fault of the facility. A bear meandering through a parking lot in back was a unique experience. The breakfast selection was exceptional and it tasted great, however, it was only warm (not hot) on day one, and actually cold on day two. The warming trays did not have any lit flames or heating elements on. The dining area for breakfast was LOUD. They have tile floors which look great, and I can appreciate their durability, but every time someone moved one of the wooden chairs it sounded like a bullhorn being blasted. Some leg-protectors on the chairs, at least, would probably help. There were also no window coverings or wall hangings of any kind, so the acoustics were horrible. Back in the room, I did notice some mold in the shower and the carpet was obviously dirty. After walking barefoot on the carpet for just a few minutes, I stepped into the shower and black water appeared at my feet. The room also had just a little bit of a funky smell to it, which I assume was from the carpet as well.

Overall the room was nice and clean. The floor/carpet wasn’t very clean. My white socks were black after walking around.

The carpeting in the hallways on the third floor smells like urine. I had to hold my breath and sprint from the elevator to the room. The air conditioner in the room I stayed in did not dehumidify the room and it was like a swamp. The linens, blankets and towels were all very damp. A towel that was folded neatly in the pile should’ve been designated as a rag, as it was ripped in two corners. The thermostat on the wall isn’t connected, but it’s hanging by a wire. The cabinet door to the microwave has a broken hinge. The balcony off the room opens up to a scary looking concrete back yard that has broken chain-link fences and garbage the ground. On a positive note, they have a waffle maker for making waffles. The staff were friendly. The location is walkable to the main strip. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Small nats (fly) on the wall as soon as we walked into the room and we came back to a roach, mind you we didn’t come in with either of those bugs and we take our cleanliness very serious. Staff was also very rude about it and seemingly didn’t want to help but at least they issued me a refund that same night. I don’t know if their hotel is poorly cleaned or if the group before us who had that room brought those bugs but we were disgusted either way.

Close to downtown. Easy to find. The room was nice but needed some attention. The carpet was in bad condition.

The room smelled of urine, the carpets were so dirty that our feet got dirty walking on them. The furniture was filthy. The bed was worn out and sagging.

Very good not expensive hotel, we stayed here two nights. Not far from the main street and very very convenient location. Internet is good, I urgently needed to work for a couple of hours and the speed surprised. The pillows were not very good, my neck hurt a little.

A horn was honking the entire night from 0400hrs till 0930 at the point in time we left. We could not sleep at all because of this. Horrible night. Walls are thin.

My room was everything I could ask for at a reasonable price. The only thing I wish was improved is the water pressure in the shower. I recommend the King bed as it was very comfortable.

The stay was fine, but some small things kept it from being great. There was nowhere in the bathroom to hang towels, and the door to the bathroom couldn't be locked.

Great location in Gatlinburg next to the Space Needle so definitely convenient to walk on the main strip. Nice room and balcony but the only reason I gave it a 4 star is because the mattress are little to hard and can hear people through the walls next door. I will stay here again if I can get the same room for the view.

It was a decent, low budget room to stay in. The ac didn’t work well. Even on a very cool day/evening, it wouldn’t cool the room down well.

The refrigerator had broken off shelves.

I understand this location is going under a renovation. The walls are super thin, you can hear conversations - especially if you’re on the bottom floor. You hear everyone on the balconies. Our room could have been cleanse, the desk was sideways in the room away from the wall, there was some hair in the shower and sink.

Front desk staff was very unprofessional, and very unfriendly, especially in the evenings for check-in and general information inquiries. Grounds are not very well kept, carpet in the hallways is worn and frayed, not at all what I was expecting from a Radisson Hotels property, I will not stay here again.

Good location near downtown. The problem is that there was nothing telling us we needed to request housekeeping. No one came to give us fresh towels or coffee packets. What has happened to service in hotels?

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel was kept clean. Breakfast was hot and had a good selection. Parking is limited.

Don’t stay here! Our sheets, pillowcases and comforters were EXTREMELY damp/wet on both beds. The extra blanket in the closet was full of holes - useless and gross. The parking spaces in front of the building weren’t enough for all guests. The overflow parking lot was a street over on the other side of a different building, not clearly identified with signage and not gated or monitored. Staff at front desk were not professional. Don’t stay here!

Do not book this hotel. I made a change to my reservation (from one night to two nights) due to travel changes because of inclement weather. Not only did Expedia mess up the cancellation, the hotel charged me for both nights and then refused to honor my one night reservation, Front staff representative Maurice was exceptionally rude and offered no assistance in fixing the situation or finding me an accommodation. Do not stay at this hotel.

We have stayed at this property many times. We love the hotel and the staff is amazing! The location is one of the reasons we continue to stay here time and again. Yes, you could find a nicer hotel but this one is clean, up to date, literally a 3 min walk to Ripley's and Sugarland and the staff is absolutely the best. Just do it.

We have stayed here two times in the past that were pleasant, but this hotel and the staff are awful now. The room was not clean upon arrival. There were still crumbs and ring marks from drinks on counter surfaces. Housekeeping never came even though the site says daily housekeeping. I was told when I complained I had to request it. I did so on the second day and was told it was too late, that they would come tomorrow. They never came the next day and when I complained about it again, you guessed it, it was too late to have it cleaned. When I booked there was no info about the pool being closed and it was not disclosed at check-in. Obviously I would have chosen a different property had I known this before they had my money as my son was looking forward to having a pool on our trip. The room was musty and there was rust on the lamp and mold on the desk (pictures attached). When I voiced concerns each day to the front desk person he just said the same line over and over again, not addressing a single concern. The manager was even worse, telling me I was informed about issues that I was not informed about, as if he was there when the conversations occurred. I observed several others with the same issues complaining to staff who were equally rudely dismissed. Each day I had to go get towels and supplies because they refused to bring them up and even had to empty our own trash. If there was a single positive, at least the bland breakfast was included. We won’t be back.

This was a good place to stay. There is construction going on at the hotel and I feel like the price should have reflected that fact more. Kind of noisy in the morning but front desk was very helpful and answered all questions. Breakfast was great! Easy walk to the main street in Gatlinburg. Enjoyed the stay.

This property is located right in the middle of Gatlinburg. Very clean have stayed multiple times.

Breakfast was great and varied. Liked that it was a full breakfast and had great extras like chocolate chips for the waffles and peppers for the eggs . Lots of condiments like hot sauce and ketchup for people that like those . Also free cookies ! Every day when we came back from our adventures we got cookies at the front desk. Easy walk to everything . We were told no housekeeping unless you ask but on the 3rd day they would come . We stayed 4 days and never got hosuekeepimg. Guess I still needed to ask .Beds comfortable . Rooms clean. We would absolutely stay there again

Breakfast was very basic. They didn't even serve oatmeal and egg for breakfast.

The hot breakfast was excellent every day. The staff was very friendly. The building was in the heart of town. The only negative was that the swimming pool was not functional.

Overall, the facility was good. However, the breakfast needs to be improved. The gravy was flat, biscuits and French toast was hard, the breakfast potatoes didn’t taste good, and the sausage and chicken were so-so. However, the omelettes and waffle were good. The beds were not very comfortable.
