This is what a B&B is supposed to be. The place is charming and historic. The breakfast was amazing. I recommend you stay a few days because every morning is different. The owner Carl is a gentleman and makes you feel at home. This was definitely one of the best places I have ever stayed! My favorite thing was the garden area where we dined and all the trumpet vines pouring over the fence and waking up to the smell of something delicious cooking.

This Bed & Breakfast is beautifully furnished and centrally located in a residential area, walking distance to downtown and sightseeing destinations. Our room, while slightly on the small side, was beautifully appointed, as are all the rooms. Carl and his daughter Bailey are warm and considerate hosts. The real star, though, is the breakfast. It features outstanding food and is beautifully presented. Furthermore, the Capitol Hill will accommodate a guest's dietary needs - be sure to check your messages on your Orbitz account, because Carl will check in with you there. In addition, parking is free, a rarity in cities. All in all, our stay was a great experience.

This historic inn in the center of Denver is the ideal place for a couples relaxing vacation. In a central city residential neighborhood it is close to everything Denver has to offer. After your adventures exploring, you can just chill on the porch with a glass of wine. Friendly accommodating inn keeper & staff will make your vacation memorable. Also, great breakfast s.

Beautiful historical sandstone mansion with a lovely garden patio where breakfast is served. Located in a busy area with a bus stop right there, but the patio walls covered with trumpet vines and flowers and water fountain create a nice relaxing atmosphere.

Stayed in the Bluebell room. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was spectacular… delicious!! Loved that there was parking in the back so didn’t have to find street parking. Will be back for sure!

This was our first stay at a B&B and we enjoyed the home very much! It was walking distance from the Fillmore, restaurants, bars and stores. They offered free parking in the alley way, which was a bonus. The gourmet home cooked breakfast each morning was delicious and the staff all very friendly. The room was perfect and the shower was great, we stayed in the Paintbrush room. This was the only room on the main floor, close to dinning room so the mornings could be a bit noisy. My only recommendation would be to update the mattress in this bedroom, I have a feeling it has been around for a minute. Highly recommend this home!

We stayed in the Snowlovers Room, on the 3rd floor. Fortunately, we packed lightly for this short trip - as dragging a bunch of suit cases up & down the stairs would have been rough. This was our first experience with staying at a Bed & Breakfast, but it was exactly what one would expect. The food was delicious, and always served with a smile and a conversation. Excellent coffee, excellent indoor AND outdoor dining space (we experienced one of each, since it rained one evening). We had an issue with the toilet on our first flush, and there was an overflow (no, we didn't put anything down it that we shouldn't have...or too much). We called the Main Line & someone was there within 5 minutes knocking on the door to assist. Nice folks, great place, give it a shot if you're in Denver.

Quirky with a capitol Q! The outside looks like a nice old Victorian mansion. The inside is like your great grandmothers, with green carpeting and old furniture. AC did not work well, lucky to have fan in room. Bed comfortable. Shower head trickled water. Carl said he asked if I wanted him to change out the shower head and that I said it was ok.in fact, someone knocked at 5 pm when I was getting ready for dinner and said “housekeeping “- I said we r ok, because beds had already been made. After being out all day and coming back to inn at 11pm exhausted and thirsty, heard owner in kitchen, and asked if he had xtra water. The ensuing conversation was laughable as he insisted there were water bottles in my room. I told him we drank them earlier. He didn’t accept that. Then said they allot 2 water bottles per room /day. So I told him I would pay if he could get me a bottle. He reluctantly gave me one, and as I turned, uttered “jeez” under his breath. Breakfast- only offer one item. First morning- pancakes. I don’t particularly like pancakes and just had the fruit, which was good. He then said he always asked about “dietary restrictions “ and I should have said something. Mayb he doesn’t understate difference between restriction and preference. Having a choice would b nice. Cory was kind to make me scrambled eggs. owner was nice to have coffee ready for early risers, but beyond that , not very hospitable. For the price, I will stay elsewhere in future.

I enjoyed my short stay at this Bed & Breakfast. When I arrived, my room was ready and waiting for me. The proprietor and his daughter are very friendly and accommodating. I was surprised to see the way other guests interacted with them, as if they already know each other! Maybe they do? If not, it just goes to show how hospitable they are. This historic property is in great condition, and while appearing dated inside, gives off a vintage charm. Everything in my room was in great condition and very clean as well. The shower had good pressure and temperature control, which isn’t always the case with older properties. Parking is limited, but accommodates guests if you know to park behind the building. Street parking is very difficult at the end of the night. So make sure you get a spot! The breakfast was gourmet good, and made fresh for each guest. The price is also very attractive compared to other options in Denver, which are quite pricey. And being in Capitol Hill, near downtown and uptown, you have easy access to Denver attractions. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Denver.

While this is obviously a historic property, it has not been upkept. It is on the perimeter of the historic mansions. Unfortunately this area has been populated by homelessness. The advertised ""Gourmet breakfast" consisted of fried eggs, bacon, a store bought biscuit with gravy. The coffee was a watered down version of the owners brew. The staff was short and not very accommodating. This was a "grossly misrepresented property"". A Holiday Inn would have been a better choice.

Our bathroom didn’t have a conventional shower so we bathed under the faucet one day and went to a friend’s house another. The tea kettle in our room didn’t work. We notified the owner twice and his response was to tell us that it did. Overall, it was a beautiful inn in a nice neighborhood and was a fun experience but we’ll probably go with a conventional hotel next time.

My stay at the Capitol Hill B&B was amazing. The hotel is located in a historical building built in 1891. I stayed in a flower room with a Jacuzzi. Delicious breakfast was served at the garden. Carl, I think he is the owner, was very friendly and very helpful. This is the place you must stay at least one in your lifetime. Thank you, Carl, for taking care of me, Nataliya

Beautiful home. Living in history. Our room had a private balcony that we loved. Room was on the 3rd floor so lots of stairs. Incredible breakfast. Best of our whole vacation! We had to miss breakfast the 2nd morning to catch our flight. We had to leave at 7:15 and breakfast did not start until 7:30. It smelled so good though…

Our Bluebell suite was very well decorated, clean and comfortable. We were well taken care of at check in. The belgian waffle we had at breakfast was delicious and the bacon was cooked to perfection. I would definitely stay here again if I am in the Denver area!

The staff would talk loudly in the morning outside our room at 4:30AM which prevented us from getting a good night's sleep. We stayed in the Blue Bell room. I think any other room would have been fine.

The vibe here is awesome, the location is great for walking to places within a just a few blocks, the breakfast was delicious too. We were in the first floor Paintbrush room, really spacious and it was quiet. Will definitely go again and try the other rooms.

Very cool property, however, my biggest compliant was that the room only had blinds on the windows. Room was extremely bright first thing in the morning so curtains would have been great.

Booked here as looked an interesting place to stay. Enjoyed the communal breakfast table. Service : almost absent just going thru the bare minimum motions. Made up by location and chatting with fellow guests.

Cowboy Carl was awesome. Enjoyed the hospitality and conversation. Knowledgeable advice where to eat and grab drinks. Room was relaxing and plenty of room for 2. Breakfast was delicious and filling. Look forward to staying next time we’re in Denver.

Beautifully restored Victorian in the middle of everything. Easy walking to major museums and attractions; parking; charm galore. Fabulous breakfasts, real care for visitors. Can't imagine why people would do a chain hotel rather than this magnificent experience.

I picked the place based on the location. I wanted to be walkable to many venues downtown. The mansion did not let me down. We were 5 blocks from the museums one direction. And 5 blocks from fabulous restaurants in the other. Carl's breakfasts were gourmet, and the french press coffee was a great way to wake up.

This is a beautiful historical property that has been very well maintained and is just lovely. It was very convenient for us as our daughter lives 3 minutes away. Excellent breakfast and very nice staff. Our only complaint was they make the bacon in the upstairs kitchen every morning at 5 AM! and it woke us up every morning-the smell. Several other guests were also not happy about the early hour and the permeating smell. Would be so much better at 7 AM. It was a big enough problem that we will look elsewhere next time. Not everyone loves bacon at 5 am every morning. was almost nauseating.

Charming inn with friendly proprietors. We enjoyed our stay, but our room was hot given that the outside temp was in the 90s during the day. It’s very old, so no AC, I guess, but a fan was provided. Guests should be aware, but it was not unbearable. Secondly, their breakfasts were delicious, but only one entree choice. Also not a big deal, but guests should be aware. The breakfast garden was lovely!

The breakfast was hand made nice light pancakes with a blueberry compote with quality bacon and fresh cut fruit. It was the perfect amount of food

The Capitol Hill Mansion B&B is a charming, beautiful house in a quiet neighborhood. Carl is a friendly and attentive host. We stayed four nights and every single one of our breakfasts there were absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Nice French press coffee, too!
