Stayed 1 night

We recently stayed at your farm on the 31st December Whilst we loved the location and easy check in, we arrived at just gone 5pm and were disappointed with the cleanliness of the room, we do not think it had been cleaned at all since the last guests and likely longer than that. In usual cases we would have let someone know, but as the cleanliness was several major things and not a quick fix, we didn’t want to ruin New years eve by not having a room and a staff member having to come do what was likely several hours worth of cleaning. We of course did not expect perfection from a rustic farm and expected some cobwebs etc, but there were thick cobwebs everywhere. There were dead flies in the room, hairs on the countertops and on the kettle, scum and black mould all over the shower and sink, the floor was not hoovered and it was just generally very unclean and unloved. Again we would not expect perfection, but at £155 a night it isn’t exactly a budget room, and would have thought that cleanliness would have been the bare minimum.

Back off beyond down narrow winding lanes unlit at night so not for the timid driver. As we took our grandchildren 4 & 6 yrs old with us the 4 bedded Wild Goose Nest was ideal, clean albeit the floor was flag so with the best will in the world not grit free and not the best for walking on bare footed.

Great place to stay on a working farm. Room was spacious with a good kitchenette. There is a small, well stocked store to buy food/drinks onsite which is helpful as the location is not near shops. Location is great being right near the walking and cycling trails.
