Oyster Fleet Hotel

No internet in rooms. No access before 8:30 for lift reception or restaurant where internet is available

Awful. Could not sleep. The hotel had a wedding function, the music was so loud it vibrated through the building To make things worse the room I stayed in had some sort of machine outside so when the wedding noise finally stopped at 12 35 the machine noise kicked in.

Nice one-day trip nice attached pub and outside area and an excellent restaurant,

Had a terrible nights sleep due to our family room being over the function hall which had incredibly loud music until 0036. Restaurant had decent food with very helpful staff but wouldn’t want to stay here again.

When you visit, eat in the restaurant very nice and great valve.

Have stayed in hotel before for family party and really enjoyed it great food and bar close too shops, would recommend it 👌

Easy check in. Small carpark but adequate. The room was good. Looking a bit tired in the main building, the roof probably needs some attention judging from the ceiling tiles. Shame the lift is inaccessible after midnight. Overall though it was good value for what we required.

Trouble finding a parking space in car park when an event is on

The staff are fantastic! Lots of parking great restaurant and facilitirs. A really lovely stay!

Clean and very comfortable room

The extractor fan in the bathroom room 38. Is very noisy. And the tea and coffee cups are very smal Attention to cleaning goes a long way. Went to open a window in the room and the window seal hadn't been cleaned in years.

It served our purpose. The beds were comfy, it was quiet and we got a good nights sleep. The room was clean. What let it down was how tired the room was. The bathroom in particular really needed an overhaul. The bath plug chain had rusted and stained the bath and the sealant was mouldy.

Staff told me I had to pay when I already paid and argued the fact for 10 minutes. TV broken in room. Bath had pubes in it.

Staff were helpful, polite & courteous. The room was very nice, it was spacious, clean & comfortable, with plenty of complimentary tea/coffee provisions A hairdryer & TV were available

Dirty room cold water cold

Room was cold. Radiator didn’t work. Mould in the bathroom. Strange to have a kitchen sink in the bathroom, but functional so ok. Bed was comfortable so slept well Staff were helpful Rooms could do with a lick of paint Shower was decent, although the mat in the bath hadn’t been lifted for a long time as there was black mould spots under it. Then again for £78 it was cheap and did the job. Heating could have been on prior to arrival, as it was very cold.

Very clean rooms and friendly staff. The only problem was lack of Wi-Fi in the rooms.

Very basic hotel facilities. No aircon or fan in very hot conditions. The room tv was a joke as so small it was impossible to use.

Clean and tody hotel, needs a refurb as looking a little tired. Britians smallest tv in quite a large room. But comfy bed and a good nights sleep. Food in the restaurant was great value and quality

When we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful. The room on the other hand was awful! Very outdated interior, some lights not working, Hole in the bathroom floor, bed and pillows were horrendous. There was a tiny tv right in the top corner of the room that you couldn’t see from anywhere. The walls are way too thin, could hear everything next door was saying and when they used the shower/tap it would wake you up. Overall terrible experience and only stayed for 1 night, would not recommend.

A great location in the town centre close to walk into town and the amenities. The room was stone cold when we arrived and we turned the radiator on and waited 4 to 5 hours for some warmth. The room itself has seen better days and looks a bit battered and worn, THERE IS NO WIFI in the rooms and when I enquired at reception we were told to goto the main bar to get the only wifi signal. The bed linen had some unidentifiable stains. We endured the experience for the one night. The car park was full of commercial vans and I guess they cater for the commercial workers.

No wifi. Only available in the bar area Room nice, spacious but very hot. Could open the windows but spoiled by the noisy extractor fans from the kitchens.

The hotel rooms had no wifi

The room was quite outdated, cold even though the heater was on full and no soundproofing so woken up several times from other rooms having showers, toilets etc. Also no WiFi in the rooms and the TV was very small (18") yet in the far corner of the room.

Shauna on reception was exceptional.

The receptionist Niaomi was super friendly professional and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The English breakfast was fresh and tasty. The steak restaurant was a nice surprise. The scenery over looking the water was picturesque. To anyone visiting Canvey I would recommend the Oysterfleet hotel

Staff were very friendly and check-in/out was smooth. Beds were a bit small for two people (doubles) but clean and comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. The shower is an over-bath type but is powerful and you get a great shower. Although the rooms are large, they are very dated and showing their age. If they were to be given a makeover they would be excellent rooms. The bar are is welcoming and the food looked really good.

Check in was just a nightmare.. Needed a passport or driving licence.. Didn’t have either. Had already paid for the room. They took a photocopy of my credit card ( which I insisted on taking the next day).. Said all hotels need identification???? Never been asked before.. Asked if I wanted breakfast I said NO then proceeded to tell me all the breakfast times etc… window handles in the room both broken so couldn’t open the window ( This breaches health and safety for an escape route in an event of a fire).. Clearly not checked???

Upon arrival, I experienced a traveler’s worst nightmare. It was completely my fault, I had booked a room at the Oyster Fleet for the right day, but I had got the date wrong and booked my stay for the following week! The receptionist was extremely helpful in rectifying my mistake, even though it took some time to sort out. This a great hotel with great food available

Because the staffs were so nice

There's not much choice on Canvey Island. Oyster Fleet was OK but urgently needs refurbishment. Bedroom was adequate, reasonably priced, but needs an overhaul generally, particularly the paintwork. Public areas were also showing their age. However, the place was obviously popular with locals. Atmosphere was friendly, particularly the reception staff.

Convenient for town and all facilities

Excellent budget twin room, very comfortable bed. The room was immaculate, excellent parking facilities and close to all local shops. I have stopped here many times and will continue to stop here.

Convenient location for visiting family

Really friendly staff. Being in the winter the weather was chilly and the lady at the reception made sure we had a warm room and even came up to set the heating really warm. The pub and restaurant looked nice though we did not eat out this time.

Excellent parking and great staff and a great view of the lakes

Nice hotel very close to canvey beach. Only issue was lighting very bad in room and two lights didn’t work.

Property in general was clean and the staff pleasant. Had issues with breakfast, the orange juice was fizzy and off so i advised staff. The apple juice had something floating in it. It was changed or removed but attention to detail needed. Rooms pretty basic for the money. Could do with updating. Ok for one night but wouldnt want to stay longer.

No early breakfast so had to walk down the road to Sainsbury's to buy continental breakfast food for my room. Noisy guests next to my room talking and laughing till late. Evening meal food in bar was excellent. Male bar person didnt smile. Was told by waiter to help myself to cutlery, so had to go and get it. Saw another waiter go and get the cutlery for other customers.

My sister and i really enjoyed our stay at the Oysterfleet Hitel. We had a delicious meal at Angela's Steak House and the full english breakfast was very tasty and great value for money. We will definitely be coming back again.

Were allowed to check in a bit earlier which was great. Room was a bit warm, luckily we brought a fan (suggest you do too). Bed was comfy but it is only a double (not king size). Good shower. Good food in the restaurant and at breakfast. Might be an idea to get a toaster rather than one of those toasting conveyors as it wastes electricity, is rubbish and heats the room up (ok in winter but not summer). All staff were lovely and really an asset to the business.
