This was such a little gem to stay in! I wish we could’ve stayed more than the one night but we’ll definitely be staying here the next time we visit. I loved the bed and breakfast feel mixed with the old school hotel vibes. My boyfriend and I played a game of pool together, and then played a couple of games with one of the guests. I love the included drinks and snacks that were available, the muffins were delicious! I also loved the “real keys”, it was a nice touch. Some people may not care for the lack of cable tv, it didn’t bother me whatsoever but some old school people might not be as keen. Other than that, I don’t see any reason why anyone would have an issue staying here. It was a breeze checking in and checking out. Again, I loved this place and will definitely be back!

There was no restaurant or gym as the listing advertised!! It is a very small hotel, Breakfast provided had no protein or fresh food options like eggs, fruits or vegetables. Only bread, cereal, instant oatmeal, yogurt, milk.

Highly recommended. Alissa was a wonderful host, and we enjoyed meeting Frankie (her dog). Appreciated the kitchen where we could borrow plates, wine glasses, etc. You can even do a load of laundry if you need to. The self-serve continental breakfast bar was perfect for us, no fuss, just help yourself to whatever you want, any time of the day. Stayed in the executive king suite and it was lovely. A highlight of our trip up north.

It seems some parts were under construction (?), including the dining area (?) and the gym, which was not available (although this was not clear when booking). We were greeted by a large barking dog. The area of downtown is convenient but nothing special. Clean rooms were nice. The all-day breakfast is just bread/toast, muffins, and juice/coffee (Keurig). The bed wasn't great. It's definitely a fine place to stay in Timmins, but not a 9.8/10 — that rating seems sorely out of whack with reality.

The owners are so welcoming, the rooms are large and clean and filled with up to date amenities and lots of extras (24hr breakfast bar, laundry, netflix, etc.) I would absolutely stay here again.

Excellent for a downtown hotel. Very clean and unique suites with a B&B feel with a self serve all day continental fare. Wished we could have stayed there longer than one night. The only negative was a noisy room fan.

Great stay. Our room was large and comfortable. Beds were comfy and living room was lovely, even a fireplace for ambiance. Complimentary snacks were a nice touch. The great room had all kinds of options, books games fireplace and even a pool table. We would most definitely stay here again.

This is an old building in a downtown location. The area is not that great - quite warn down as is the outside of this building. The inside of the inn is old fashion decor and the breakfast is very limited. The air conditioner was very loud and right next to the bed which did not make for a quiet sleep. The mini fridge motor was also very loud. I would rate this as a 2 or 3 star hotel and if you can get a low rate it would be ok. We went in the high season and the rate for value was not good.

We anticipated a bed and breakfast environment and decided on this property because a hot breakfast was advertised. We found out later that hasn't been offered since before COVID. The only window in the room was covered in glass bricks which made the room dark and gave it more of a basement apartment feel than a hotel. I think I met someone who worked there but there was never anyone at the front desk in the three days/nights we were there and that was on our last evening. We only learned about the fact they were no longer offering breakfast because of another guest who had been there before and had their door open because there was no air conditioning in their room. The property was clean, but it was not at all as advertised.

The room and the hotel were clean but overall everything was very cheap. I didn't expect the non groomed receptionist with no welcoming smile. There is no reception area.The breakfast area was messy, with non standard arrangement for a hotplate and plastic utensils and poor selection of items to eat. Nothing made me feel exited to be there. Skip the smaller than standard pool table. Quailty is in the details.

Alisa was so lovely and made sure I was given a quick tour even though I checked in pretty late at night. She made sure I had everything I needed before I arrived and gave me her number just in case. The place was so adorable and I loved the 24/7 continental breakfast and all the other amenities. I travel a lot for work and liked that it felt cozy but still had the professional hotel feel. I’ve already told my coworkers how much I liked Balsam Suites and will definitely stay here again!

Furniture was falling apart. We appreciate the tranquility of the motel. Snacks were adequate but not really much of a continental breakfast. Parking is in a back alley which doesn’t feel safe and isn’t well lit. Unfortunately like a lot of other businesses, covid has really taken a toll on this business and isn’t the wonderful stay we loved pre covid

Great location. Very comfortable room. Wonderful social are with seating and pool table. Quaint, quiet and definitely will be a return spot!

Nice, clean, large room. However, the first night of street parking was maddening as there were no signs posted saying there was street cleaning and when we came out in the morning our son in laws new car was covered in mud and tiny rocks. We were very upset! Also, the advertisement online mentions a hot breakfast as a free amenity. False advertising as there was none.

This is an old building in a downtown location. The area is not that great - quite warn down as is the outside of this building. The inside of the inn is old fashion decor and the breakfast is very limited. The air conditioner was very loud and right next to the bed which did not make for a quiet sleep. The mini fridge motor was also very loud. I would rate this as a 2 or 3 star hotel and if you can get a low rate it would be ok. We went in the high season and the rate for value was not good.

This was such a little gem to stay in! I wish we could’ve stayed more than the one night but we’ll definitely be staying here the next time we visit. I loved the bed and breakfast feel mixed with the old school hotel vibes. My boyfriend and I played a game of pool together, and then played a couple of games with one of the guests. I love the included drinks and snacks that were available, the muffins were delicious! I also loved the “real keys”, it was a nice touch. Some people may not care for the lack of cable tv, it didn’t bother me whatsoever but some old school people might not be as keen. Other than that, I don’t see any reason why anyone would have an issue staying here. It was a breeze checking in and checking out. Again, I loved this place and will definitely be back!

There was no restaurant or gym as the listing advertised!! It is a very small hotel, Breakfast provided had no protein or fresh food options like eggs, fruits or vegetables. Only bread, cereal, instant oatmeal, yogurt, milk.

Highly recommended. Alissa was a wonderful host, and we enjoyed meeting Frankie (her dog). Appreciated the kitchen where we could borrow plates, wine glasses, etc. You can even do a load of laundry if you need to. The self-serve continental breakfast bar was perfect for us, no fuss, just help yourself to whatever you want, any time of the day. Stayed in the executive king suite and it was lovely. A highlight of our trip up north.

Stylish, very clean, good supply of food for snacks and breakfast, thoughtful options for reading and games in common area, warm welcome. And plenty of space in a unit arranged like a one-bedroom condo. One of the most enjoyable places we’ve stayed in decades of travelling.

Nice unique rooms and facility, 24 hr snacks/breakfast and drinks. Super nice manager which gave a quick tour and explanation of room and facility. All good and would definitely stay again. Only critic in general not specific to this property is that Timmins though just seems higher priced for accommodations than surrounding areas for some reason (almost Toronto room prices all over the city) - more business stays driving them up?

We anticipated a bed and breakfast environment and decided on this property because a hot breakfast was advertised. We found out later that hasn't been offered since before COVID. The only window in the room was covered in glass bricks which made the room dark and gave it more of a basement apartment feel than a hotel. I think I met someone who worked there but there was never anyone at the front desk in the three days/nights we were there and that was on our last evening. We only learned about the fact they were no longer offering breakfast because of another guest who had been there before and had their door open because there was no air conditioning in their room. The property was clean, but it was not at all as advertised.

This place is run down with peeling upholstery, parking was not at all suitable which was down a little lane way, beside the back of the building unlit area on an unpleasant uneven grounds, not a favorable part of town, we were advised by the locals to make sure all our doors were locked, no we will not return not worth the money

Stayed here while attending a mining conference in town. Really clean, comfortable bed, lovely staff and easy to get to by taxi. I would recommend and stay again - thank you!!
