Nice room but it was so cold. Outside temp in the room!! Freezing...! and it took the hotel 10 hours to fix the AC (they did after 4 complaints during the whole first day) I would like to get heated at the spa - but fully booked cause you have to book before you arrive i found out Hotel bar at the 6. floor was having events both nights, and closed to hotel guests for having a drink. The lighting system in the room was out of order, and the lights in the closet could not be turned off. After getting heat I had to sleep with the lights on. The second day I complained about the lights. It was fixed by setting up plastic tape on the panels!! W Amsterdam are not worth the money. Service are truly unpersonal and I Would never recommand the hotel to anyone or come back.

We loved our stay and the staff but four things didn't work...1. When we went to the restaurant they didnt put our order in and we waited almost an hour for a salad...2. The steam room disnt work and that was one of theain reasons we chose the w...and 3. On our last night we ordered dessert via room service...waited more than 20 minutes before we got a call that they were out of any desserts which seems odd....by that time it was too late to. Go out 4. The elevators were pretty banged up not in good repair.but other than that the staff was really superb and responsive and we would return

The elevator to my room (only one to that side of the building) was broken for 2 days. Luckily I am able to walk stairs. But if someone was not able to do so, how would they be expected to get to their room. For this quality hotel, I find that unacceptable.

Old building that is converted into a hotel. Beautifully done. The W has actually two buildings. If you stay at one building and want to use the gym or pool, you have to cross the street. It's a very small street so it is actually charming rather than annoying. Pool and spa are GORGEOUS. I also stayed at the W in Barcelona but this one is definitely more impressive. THey also had a cool lounge on top of the building.

I thought there were balconies in the room,but there arent,the rooftop lounge is not lively as expected even friday and saturday night,maybe htey can make an event for the weekends to make it fuller and livelier

Sewage smell in the room throughout our stay. Cleaning didn't occur between 11am-5pm and inconveniently when we were inside the room. Dodgy lift's, weren't working properly so had to use the stairs twice.

This was our anniverssary trip and becaiae of it I sent emails to the hotel in advance to avoid facing any inconveniences during our stay. Unfortunately things were not handled properly and our stay was a complete mess. We ended up cancelling our booking and stayed at another hotel. I need to point out that Patricia at reception and Ana the manager on duty that night we checked in were both helpful, understanding and professional. Our check in was extremely long, the room I requested was not the one assigned, the ambience at the lobby when we arrived was terrible, there was who seemed to be a sexual worker sitting at the lobby being loud and disrespectful, at the elevator we saw a guy who came down to welcome an escort. That was our welcome. The first room was on the Exchange tower which seems to be undergoing construction, the room was dusty, not properly cleaned, there were stains in the sink, it was a nightmare, so much that we couldn't stay that night and had to come down to reception with our luggage (it was around 1 am) we wanted and obviously wanted to cancel the booking, I walked to 2 other hotels nearby but unfortunately they were fully booked and the next check in time was that day at 3 pm. We ended up staying at the W in another room they gave us but because of the disgusting experience we had the first day we left and had to look for another place which was annoying, disturbing and irritating.

The friendly staff was wonderful. Celine did make our second check in pleasant and the door men were all great! The rooms are small but the whole place was visually pleasing. There was an issue with our room smelling and the ac was on the blink. But the location and restaurants evened it out for us.

I cannot express how hugely disappointed i am with this hotel. If i could give it a 0 rating, i would. After a long haul flight to Amsterdam to attend an event and a quick one night stay. I went to bed only to discover that the bed sheets were very dirty covered in body hair, skin and other unpleasantries . On the outset the bed looked newly made otherwise i would have alerted the hotel earlier at checkin. As it was very late and i had an early flight to catch the only thing the hotel could offer was change the sheets quickly and i was told by the manager it would be discussed and some sort of resolution/compensation would be communicated to me upon checkout. Because of this problem i was only able to sleep for 3 hours. At check out i was told i was awarded an additional 60 Marriott points and a complimentary taxi to the airport. Not only was i completely baffled by this and i am hugely insulted that the W Amsterdam thinks that this outcome is acceptable. The more i think about it, the angrier i am. I don’t even think i could buy a cup of coffee with 60 extra points. TBH I do not need the points nor am i looking for a freebie. I was hoping to stay at a nice clean hotel. Its the principal that they think 60 extra points and a taxi ride would be sufficient to make this situation acceptable. The hotel has not contacted me since. Not only have they lost a client, they have massively degraded their own brand. I will never stay at the W Amsterdam again.

To the Management, W Amsterdam, I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding our recent stay from August 21-25. I booked two rooms as an anniversary gift for my parents, but the service was a complete disaster. Upon arrival, we waited 10-15 minutes for luggage assistance. At check-in, despite mentioning my Expedia Platinum VIP status, we were denied a room upgrade due to a "fully booked" hotel. I asked for a good room for my parents, but we were given two impractical, tiny rooms (505 and 329). My parents' room had no privacy. When I raised this, staff were unhelpful, stating, "this is what we have." My room, 505, was left uncleaned for two days despite repeated complaints. A filthy corridor bin attracted flies and smelled horrible for two days. I have video evidence of the poor cleaning, showing unchanged bed linens, my charging cables under the duvet, an uncleaned toilet, and unreplaced essentials like toilet paper, towels, and water. Finally, at check-out, we waited over an hour for a bellman. We eventually had to haul our own luggage to reception, only to find a bellman standing by, doing nothing. This entire experience was a continuous series of failures. I expected a high level of service from the W brand, but the lack of cleanliness and helpful staff was inexcusable. Every thin crevice in my room seemed to be filled with dust and dust balls. The walls in the two rooms I stayed in seem to have spots of yucky things stuck to them that no one ever seems to bother wipe down. These are a few of the many things that highlight the fall of what was probably a very cool hotel at some point. Maybe they don’t care because they make their money from the loud club that woke me up several times throughout the night. I checked out early even though I had prepaid and my reservation was nonreturnable.

Great location. All staff that we dealt with were excellent.Small lobby which draws a crowd during the check in process. Our room setup was crazy, with a large shower and a separate large toilet space with no bathroom. Instead there is a sink behind the bed. The curtains are also weird. When open you can see directly into the rooms opposite and they can see into yours meaning that anytime you are doing anything private in your room you need to close the curtains. The buildings used to be a bank and a telephone exchange and trying to keep the authenticity of these buildings means that compromises in the set up have been made.

This is an expensive hotel. I was expecting better. There is no lobby to speak of. Just a tiny corner where you check in. The room was incredibly small. It was barely possible to get around the bed. There was no separate bathroom. The shower and the sink are basically in the bedroom. Only the toilet gets a separate room. There’s only two small elevators to service the whole hotel. It is not uncommon to wait several minutes for an elevator, and when it gets there you can’t get in because it’s full! The hotel is in a good location but there is no worthwhile view from any of the rooms. Our room was on the central courtyard and I could see everything in the rooms on the other side. Which means they could see in mine if I didn’t fully close the drapes. No privacy. Staff is nice, but they talk to you in a slightly condescending way. There are many hotels in Amsterdam that are nicer and cheaper. This one was a miss.

The AC in the first room we were given was broken. We were moved to a second room where the AC worked well on the lower level, but not on the second where the bed was located. Also, the flooring around the bed was multi-step, dangerous when you go to the bathroom in the night. Strangely designed. Breakfast at The Porter was great and the staff at the hotel are very nice and accommodating. Nice location.

There was confusion when I checked in as they said they couldnt find the reservation-even though I had a confirmation letter from the hotel. (it was there it was their system.) As it was highly rated and expensive, I expected the rooms to be perfect. The bathroom type layout is not user friendly, and the counter finishes were worn. The electronic drapes system didnt work, and there was no way to adjust the ac. So it really wasnt worth the price.

We can only express our profound disappointment and dissatisfaction. The room has a low ceiling, and when the restaurant provides entertainment with a DJ, it significantly disrupts guests, making it impossible for them to sleep. Upon checkout, the reception staff asked if I wished to review the bill. I confirmed I did. Let me start by saying the service at this hotel was wonderful. However, the property itself is the strangest setting I have ever been. Our room was on floor 5, but we had to get off on floor 4 and walk 10mins before climbing lots of stairs to reach a section that is labelled level 5. You cannot access our room by elevator you must walk. Also, the entire floor hallway has 0 windows, 0 natural lighting. It felt like we were in a wwII bunker. The hotel was filled with odd photography, I suppose they are contemporary art but they are definitely not child friendly, they are images depicting sexually explicit images. Overall I this is not a 5 star hotel. We actually shortened our stay at this hotel and went to a different one because we disliked it so much. I would not recommend this hotel for families.. or people who enjoy natural lighting or normal architecture… not an underground tunnel.

Nice building. The room window was high up and we couldn’t see outside. Felt like we were in an attic. You can only have a breakfast buffet for €35 each. We were surprised since we only wanted a small breakfast. Staff was helpful in general. centrally located, which was good for walking to different sites.

Our stay at the W was an absolute experience! We were celebrating our anniversary, and Melissa at the front desk went above and beyond — we arrived to find champagne, roses, and chocolates waiting in our room. We were also treated to complimentary drinks at the W Lounge, which was such a lovely touch. The hotel itself was fine. The lifts either didn’t work or took so long to reach any floor it become annoying. There was a awful smell in our room asked 3 times for someone to look at it and each time a new staff member was stood at reception who didn’t have any record of us asking to check the room so it never got sorted. Staff unfriendly seems annoyed when you went to reception to ask anything. For the money I paid it wasn’t worth it to be honest. Also the city tax isn’t included in your room charge so when you check out you get hit with €100 in tax.

Lovely hotel in a perfect location! The only issue was a cleaning issue that the hotel contacted me about directly after we checked out which was really good of them! We celebrated two massive events here and they left us balloons, flowers (actually my favourite flower oddly!) and a cake with Prosecco it was so adorable!!! Would only stay here when we return!!

The room was beautiful for sure. The service was poor. I sat for breakfast and 3 other tables who arrived after me were served & their food arrived before anyone took my order. Check-in was very slow because there was only 1 person working. A staff member asked came into my room without knocking & asked if I was checking out - I wasn't.

To the Management, W Amsterdam, I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding our recent stay from August 21-25. Hotel is very nicely located in the heart of Amsterdam. Personel is super friendly and helpful. Rooftop bar and restaurant are great for meetings and to relax. Spa and gym areas are lovely but in the other building so be prepared to cross the street. Rooms are big enough and offer good features. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

It is a great hotel with very good atmosphere. The restaurants and lounges are great! The hotel rooms are trendy and comfortable although the quality of the amenities could be a little better. The bed is very good for a good night of sleep. The towels could be a size larger as well. The SPA is nice with many pools and good sauna and hamaman. The location is very good, just behind the royal palace and the new church. The staff is nice and well trained. The hotel looks a little weary as updating and renovations in certain areas are advisable.

Radisoon blue is better than our W experience. Nothing about the hotel except location is good. The service is terrible had to carry our own suitcase to the room. Breakfast service was very bad. The Dutch diner was so bad a seabass took more than 1.30 min and came while having desert. The room IS not cosy and extremely cold. Best thing was the hot waTer in shower to keep you warm. Definitely not value for money.
