An interesting cottage in a good location with welcoming hosts. For us, the 4 large friendly dogs were problematic, especially when we were seeking to drive in and out the large gates which we had to open and close.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Vane Cottage which we booked primarily for our visit to the Love Supreme festival at Glynde Place. We were impressed with how well equipped the kitchen was with lots of utensils, pots, pans etc. The garden is lovely and would be a great space for children to play. The only negative is the lack of a shower. We wondered if we should worry about there being no picture of the bathroom and so it proved. The description of "bathroom with shower attachment over the bath" turned out to be a bath/shower mixer tap on the bath but with no shower screen or curtain. This might be useful for washing one's hair but it would not be possible to take a shower without drenching the bathroom, which certainly doesn't appear to be intended to be a wet room. So the description of "shower attachment over the bath" seems a little disingenuous. We were grateful for the excellent welcome pack of bread, milk, tea, coffee, bacon, eggs, cheese, wine and more, which was well beyond that which one might expect.
