The Talbot at Knightwick

Great staff and excellent food

We stayed here as a couple for one night on our way to a wedding. Unfortunately we didn’t find that the place lived up to expectations. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the beer garden and outdoor areas were pleasant. Our room was located on the first floor at the front of the pub, with en suite bathroom. The bed was clean and comfortable enough. However, the paintwork, carpets and fittings throughout the room and common areas were dated, tired and in some places quite grubby. The bathroom was carpeted and had cobwebs and dust in many places. The stairs case and common areas were dingy, with electrics and fittings that looked an age almost comparable with the age of property itself! Breakfast was ok and served by friendly staff. My main comment is that the photos provided in the hotel description massively oversell the quality of the facilities and experience. So be careful what to expect!

We had a good check-in and a good night’s sleep. The area is very quiet and peaceful.

Well worth a visit here, lovely location, lovely gardens and plenty of tables to sit at out side, lots of parking, staff very friendly, breakfast was excellent, home made bread, jams ect plenty of choice for breakfast, good cooked breakfast and toast, coffee tea
