The hostess at Casa Diva communicated with us beautifully. The hotel is charming and very close to a car park, important because visiting Matera involves carrying luggage over stoned streets and stairs. We would love to come back. We stayed in the Junior Suite, one of the few that is air conditioned, and were very comfortable.

I loved Matera. This hotel is more of an air b&b. There is only reception when you call in advance for someone to meet you. It is located in the city centre and hence there is no way to get your luggage to the front door without navigating a lot of stone stairs. Also, it was a heatwave while I was there. The "a/c" in both rooms my group reserved barely blew out any air at all. This made it difficult to sleep. And since there is no staff on site most of the time, there was no one to complain to. It's a charming spot, but be advised, if you have any issues like this late in the evening, you're on your own.
