Nice little hotel above a pub and restaurant. Lots of shopping in close walking distance. Small but comfortable room that has been recently refurbished with fast wifi and a lift to the rooms floor. Reasonably priced food and drinks in the pub with lots of big screens to watch you favorite game or racing. A good value for the money.

Clean, comfortable (aircon good), affordable, Dining Room and Bar within Hotel. Across road from cafes, newsagent, laundromat. 1 block to Railway Station. Only flaw was en-suite sink drained very slowly.

Very comfy bed and large room. Easily accessible. A few tips was no milk or teaspoons in room. Also was disappointed when leaving as noone had mentioned the car park closes and we couldnt get our car out. Thankfully the lovely staff person was contactable and came to our rescue. Maybe on arrival this should be mentioned.

Pros: Clean, restaurants nearby, modern-ish room (if not for the items below I would have given 4 stars) Cons: Open shower area so bathroom floor is wet for hours, parking lot locked until 10am so you have to park on the street if leaving before 10, heating/a/c unit buzzed very loudly about every 2 minutes (but got a bit better later), long check-in (could do pre-checkin process, but why would I upload a pic of my passport onto the internet to do a pre-checkin process?), smoke smell if entering through the bar or casino area.

Newly renovated, great clean rooms, comfy soft bed, staff are lovely, off street parking. Lovely short stay close to family.

Our stay at the Penshurst was amazing! The staff are wonderful and the food was amazing!

Both the bedroom and bathroom had plenty of space and the staff were friendly and helpful. There was a bit of a stale smell in the bedroom and both the bedroom and bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. however overall the room was good value for the price.

Very comfy bed and quiet except for the first night in room 12... the door lock kept randomly buzzing at midnight until " 1 am and again at 5am.. didn't get much sleep that night! The 2nd night we stayed in a different room with a balcony and it was fine, a lovely room. The surfaces were dirty with spilt food etc from previously and the fridge could have done with being checked by staff for rubbish left in the freezer and spilt something? Otherwise everything else was clean and fresh! Will stay again but not in room 12. :-)

Rooms very clean and tidy. Would stay again.

The staff members were very friendly and helpful. It is quite affordable and has good facilities. The only thing I would point out is cleanliness was very pool, I stayed in room 1 and it was very dusty to the point where the dust had built around the carpet and it was impacting my breathing at night. The duvet was mouldy and just nasty. Other than that other areas were good and clean.

It was very clean and very quiet. Will definitely stay there again.

I loved the convenient location, but definitely can't recommend staying here on a weekend - drunk people yelling in the street after 1am kept me awake. The sounds of doors banging in the morning also woke me up - the room has very poor soundproofing. Pack ear plugs if you want to stay here.

An absolute unexpected gem. Spacious well appointed room and so clsoe to everything.

The room was very spacious and clean and the bed was very comfy. Bathroom was large but nowhere to put toiletries. We stayed on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday. After going to bed on the first night, after about 10 minutes there was a loud burring sound which lasted about 10 seconds. This kept happening about every 2 minutes. After trying various things we found it was coming from the air conditioner. Hubby reported it that night around 10.45. We were told we could not change rooms as they were fully booked but it would be reported and fixed the next day. We had to turn off air con resulting in a very uncomfortable sleep as it was so hot. On the Friday we asked about 4 different staff members if it would be fixed but were only told that it had been reported and that was after they checked on the computer to confirm this. Friday night the same thing happened so it was another very bad night. Asked the staff again and it was the same answer. Asked who the manager was and was told it was Monica. Saturday evening when we returned after being out all day "John" told us that it had not been looked at and that Monica did not work on week-ends. Why did she not attend to it on Friday morning then. Another bad night with the heat on Saturday meaning 3 nights in a row leaving us totally exhausted with a 4 hour drive back to where we live. "John" suggested that we request some sort of refund. If this is not the place to do this, please advise. We must be due for something

Arrived after 2pm to check in was told WiFi was down so they couldn't process payment and we would have to wait till whenever the WiFi came back up. I asked to speak to manager explained I had been up for over 24hours been to funeral and needed some sleep as need to meet family in a few hours was told nothing could be done I continued to advise not good enough. Another couple checking I told them to just let us up eventually they agreed went back down a few hours later and found payment had gone through Rebecca was very helpful as for theanagwr terrible service no hospitality skills do not stay here

The care about the guest's requests and knowledge of the personnel is the most reason why I would recommend it to others.

Staff are very lovely. Theyre always seeing if you need anything. Its my second stay and the room was very nice

Very good check in experience, clean, quiet, friendly staff.

It was quite strange that we stayed 4 nights and housekeeping never made up our room, although we did not ever have the dnd sign on our door. Also, we found it a bit annoying that we booked to have a parking, only to find that it stays locked until 10 a.m. Or at least we were told so, two nights we parked outside to be able to leave earlier and it was not locked in the morning after all ... Good public transport connection and good, cheap eats around. Food in the hotel's beer garden not more than average. Aircon was super noisy in our room even when turned off, but at least the fuse was in the room so we could end the noise. Not the dripping of it, though ... The room was quite modern and clean. Checkout was sliding the keycard to the barkeeper through the locked door. Definitely a special place.

the hotel is about 3 minutes walk to the train station, very clean room and comfortable bed, staff are nice and friendly. my only issue is they did not have anyone to leave the key with before 10.00am when checking out.

I loved that it was right next to the train station, the staff were very helpful and it was a lovely room. The bistro looked closed bit just needed brighter lights. Lovely food at good prices

The penzie ( an affectionate abbreviation) or aka the penshurst hotel . Friendly staff , good food and beverages . Reasonable prices clean & modern rooms and conveniently located close to railway station. I will be back .

Good access to trains to southern and eastern Sydney

This hotel was ideal for us. It has everything in walking distance. Thumps up would cm bak to this hotel again.

Could highly recommend the accomadation at Hotel Penshurst. The room was very clean, comfortable bed, roomy, nice clean and roomy bathroom. No noise could be heard at night. Close to transport and dinning restaurants close by. The meals at the hotel are excellent. Thourghly enjoyed our stay. Thank you Greg & Annette Porter

The place was comfy and well located to shops coffeehouses and the pub downstairs. The restaurant was great and food was generous. All in all excellent service from all the staff. No problem to be had by family and was great for catching up with family members.

The service was terrible the man in the check out was horrible and scary . The service was backward . We couldn’t get my out fast enough . The bistro food bruschetta was awful . The double bed we both rolled into the middle . Couldn’t stay on a side . The room was nothing like on the picture .
