SpringHill Suites by Marriott Milwaukee Downtown

This is a tough review as we really like this hotel chain, but I have to review it based on our 2 night stay. Large room which was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Very good breakfast with a nice assortment of hot and cold items. Fitness room was adequate with free weights, a couple treadmills, ellipticals, and a bike. The free popcorn in the lobby was a nice touch. Unfortunately, the heat was not working in the building, which made for a very cold lobby and breakfast area. The heat also did not work in the room, which wasnt a huge deal, except we couldnt even turn the unit off...and it blew cool (not cold) air the entire stay, and made a clicking noise all night. Hot water went out the 2nd day, which made for a very unpleasant shower. Light bulb was out in the lamp by the chair, which was taken care of immediately when I mentioned it. To be fair, much of this was beyond their control, and they did send a letter to our room stating the issues with the heat (it was a very cold weekend). Not the best stay at one of our favorite chains, BUT.......we would stay here again knowing that they would have these issues taken care of. Without these issues, would give it a 10/10. Simply rating it on our stay this time.

The valet parking price is absurd at the hotel. This is downtown Milwaukee, not Chicago. The rooms at the hotel are fine, just a bit outdated with scratches on the tables and stains in the shower. I was surprised that we weren't given lotion or body wash in the room, only found shampoo and conditioner. The breakfast was fabulous, with lots of options, and all very tasty.

Good location in downtown Milwaukee and within walking distance of everything. Staff were friendly and helpful. Few lights in our room did not work, but overall property in good shape & clean. Over night parking fee is confusing. Before I arrived I thought it would be $20 per what I read on the hotel website. After checking-in when I asked about parking was directed to Valet and was not told there is two parking options. Those being self park in adjacent lot at $20 vs. Valet that I learned later when I checked out which is $40.00.

This hotel was very nice and the location for us was excellent. The attached bbq restaurant was fantastic and had great prices.

Parking is expensive $25 and valet is $41

Love the location for going to the Summerfest grounds and catching the shuttle at Brat Haus. Valet parking is quite steep at $51, but for the convenience you really don’t have a choice.

Guest services did not clean room 2nd day we were there. Had to call multiple times to get toilet paper and towels. No self park available, had to upgrade to valet parking, was pricey.

Staff went out of their way to assist. The hotel did not have a plug in for EVs (nor did nearby parking facilities). Justin in valet assisted us plugging up our car (so we could drive home).

Fantastic hotel, valet parking available, attached bbq restaurant. Only thing graded down on was very uncomfortable beds.

we went to Milwaukee last weekend for Open Door Milwaukee so chose this hotel because it was walking distance from many of the buildings on the tour, also near restaurants and other amenities. The staff at checkin were friendly and helpful. Spacious lobby with comfortable seats. you must tap you room key in order to go up the elevator, which is extra safe. the room was clean, nicely decorated and maintained. at night the room was quiet. the bed, pillows and bedding we’re comfortable. bathroom was clean and well supplied. my only complaint is that the lighting level around the beds is very low, but by the chairs and tv there was plenty of light. Valet parking was quick and easy. if you get there too early to checkin you can still valet park for the same cost,$40. The free breakfast was plentiful with lots of variety and hot food choices. it was a very nice hotel. i would stay there again.

Room was very clean, plenty of space and beautiful with a great view! Comfortable beds with plenty of pillows. Staff were friendly and very informative. Great stay!

One person working at the valet was very inconvenient, specially in the morning during check out time. Breakfast area, tables and chairs were not clean. Room bathroom smelled like sewer. Not working light switchs.

For the most part, the hotel was nice. The lady working the front desk was very helpful as well as the valet. The location was 2 blocks from Fiserv Forum which was very convenient since we had tickets to the game. The room was mostly clean. There was some hair leftover on the floor from someone else. There was also no handle on the inside of the bathroom door making it difficult for my kids to close it since it was a heavy door. The complimentary breakfast was not great. There was barely anything left when we got downstairs and they were unable to keep up with the number of people eating. The tables were mostly 2 tops which wasn’t ideal for me and my 2 boys to be able to sit together.

Fine hotel for the price but not great and didn’t live up to reviews. My room had a lingering smell of (maybe) cigarette smoke. My sheets had marks on them. The hotel room door was jammed and the walls in my room had patches all over them. Tape on the ceiling as if someone hosted a party in the room. There wasn’t much lighting in the room except for a few scones. Ants in the bathroom and the toilet was not cleaned thoroughly. Overall the room did not feel clean.

Lost our keys a few times, the normal valet guys are good, the staff that help not so much, they misplaced out car keys, it took the normal valet guys some time to find our keys. Cleanliness, the bathroom base boards have not been cleaned properly in a while, and the shower stalls need a good scrubbing.

I liked that it was connected to the Baird Center via inside walkway. Also there is a restaurant connected which was very convenient. The front desk check in wasn’t exactly relaxing. They had a ton of people checking in and I felt the front desk person was stressed and slightly rude. We weren’t told about the breakfast or anything. It probably wasn’t his fault they were very busy but it was slightly off putting. Also the pillows smelled bad like other people’s heads and there was no conditioner in the bottle in the shower. Honestly it wasn’t terrible but for the amount of money we paid for two nights (almost $500) it should have been better. Location was great and the bathroom was beautiful.

The room was very spacious, comfortable and clean!

Great central location, very comfortable room with great control of thermostat temperature, water gets very hot and cold without issue, bed is extremely comfortable and clean. It all smells very new. Room has iron, ironing board, hair dryer, fridge, and bathtub.

My sister and I stayed here for a concert at the Fiserv Forum and this was the perfect distance. We were able to walk to the concert and not have to worry about ride share, parking, or being late. The hotel is beautiful, very clean, and the staff are so polite. The only think is the heater in our room is so loud and woke me up quite a few times throughout the night.

The hotel was nice and modern, but the room we had was laid out in a way that made it pretty hard to hang out and relax. The TV was way off to the side and the bathroom door was where you’d expect the TV to be. The room was fine for sleeping but not hanging out. People were nice, place was clean, breakfast was good but the room was so odd we likely won’t stay there again

Extremely low lighting in room. Definitely needs elevated lights in the room. Otherwise, it was a great stay. It was a great location withs lots to do in the area.

This was a very nice hotel. Very clean and excellent service with one exception. There was a manager visiting from New York to help out. His name is Breylen. He was working the front desk. He told us the continental breakfast was from 6:30am to 9:30am. We went down at 9am and it was gone. A very sweet kitchen staff named Leslie offered to bring us some bagels. My friend later saw Breylen and informed him to give a shout out to his staff Leslie for being so nice and helpful. He rudely turned to my friend and arrogantly said, "You talking to me?" He then insisted he would never have told us the incorrect times because, "I know what it is!" My friend's daughter went down in the evening and had to ask for some utensils more than one time because Breylen was too busy gawking at her "assets" instead of looking at her face. On the morning of checkout a very sweet front desk attendant Jeanne was working and we overheard Breylen insulting her in front of guests, telling her, "You're no Einstein!" This type of behavior is completely unacceptable. Jeanne is apparently newer and was doing an amazing job and her customer service skills are impeccable. Our valet attendant Vince was absolutely amazing too! He's very warm, welcoming and accommodating. His interactions with guests and coworkers were absolutely the epitome of teamwork and customer service with a smile. Everyone did a great job even another manager (not Breylen) that stepped in to help refill the coffee in the morning.

The staff is very customer focused.every time we came I or out the said hello welcome back or as we we’re going out they would ask can we help you with anything. They help us find the directions to the places we wanted to see .We will stay there again.

They can cancelled my reservation with no notice. However continue to book others after me. Onsite manager was condescending and could not explain why I got bumped but others were checking in. Wanted to send me to another hotel but my friend who booked after me, and had a room, was supposed to stay at their site. He was arrogant and rude took over an hour for him to attempt to get a confirmation for another hotel. Would not comp my parking, and told us we were being impatient (waited an hour). We booked this location to be walking distance to concert venue. Did not care and was very rude. 1 person at the front desk was considerate. Manager could take a lesson from her.

The front desk staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. I will definitely stay here again. Highly recommend based on the service I received.

An amazing stay! The staff was awesome and courteous and I wish I could rate them at six stars. If we ever come back to Milwaukee we will book here again.

Hotel was easy to get to and close to the venue we were going to for an event. I was pleasantly surprised at the price of the hotel for being so close and convenient! It was very safe to walk so an overall good trip!!!

We enjoyed our stay. Everything was walkable and out event was right across the street at the Baird Center.

Location was perfect! We ended up doing a date night at the Bucks game because we could walk there from our hotel. Breakfast was delicious and healthy! Room was big, clean, and comfortable. This hotel definitely made me want to return for another date weekend in Milwaukee

Nothing at all to complain about. An easy walk to all downtown places, including Amtrak & Greyhound Intermodal station. Clean & quiet room, and friendly staff. Complimentary breakfast with good options. Stay here for walking access to museums, the Baird Center, concert and sporting venues. Pubs also in walking distance offer free shuttles to Brewers or Packers games with the purchase of food or drink.

Liked the room and the staff were very nice. The parking and the elevator situation was not explained to us at all. We were literally trapped in the elevator without a key going from the garage to our room because did not know we needed a key for the elevator. Thankfully the cleaning staff explained it to us. One other thing was the breakfast was not ready until 7:30 and i do not say this lightly but it was the absolute worst breakfast i have ever had at a hotel. Super 8 had better.

My family traveled to Milwaukee by bicycle. The hotel staff allowed us to safely store bikes in the garage no questions asked at no charge. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was far better than most continental breakfasts.

Perfect location for seeing a Bucks game! Great complimentary breakfast on our first morning, second morning (the day after the Bucks game) there was nothing but apples & oranges left at 8:20. Coffee was out, juice machine was out, fridge was empty. Luckily there is a Starbucks and a Dunkin' a few minutes walk away

The SpringHill Suites in downtown Milwaukee was very good! Walking distance to everything. Room was updated and very nice. Check in was fast, they did charge an extra $15 for early check in. There is a parking ramp connected to the hotel with elevators. Parking was $21 for overnight. Free breakfast in the morning was very good also. Scrambled eggs, juice coffee, various breads, sausage, muffins, cereal. Coffee was exceptional!

From ease of check in to ease of parking, with comfortable large room, our stay was great! Within easy walking distance to restaurants and Fiserv. The breakfast had a nice variety.

This is the first time I have used Expedia. What a pleasant experience. Quick and easy check-in and check-out, and quiet hotel. The room was exceptionally clean, we had a wonderful breakfast. The staff was the best! They went out of their way to greet every guest, and to answer any question that came their way. A two thumbs up to the Valets: Britany and Vince and the Front Desk: Parkor and another women (forgot her name, works am) and the two individuals coordinating the breakfast buffet. This was the first time in an hotel that I saw staff disinfect (wipe down) every table and the backs of the chairs when a person got done eating. It was a dream vacation due to the staff and to the hotel. Thank you, for a wonderful experience.
