We really enjoyed our one night stay at Courtyard by Marriott Calgary South. We arrived a bit early and the front desk staff was very helpful in finding out how much longer our room would be, and even having it ready early! Our kids absolutely loved the pool and waterslide at this hotel, and we had it all to ourselves for several hours! The only improvements I could suggest are that the pool/hot tub could have been a little cleaner. Also, unfortunately, the pull-out sofa bed was very uncomfortable for the two family members in our group of 5 who tried it, so that would be something to know if you have a larger family like we do, and need the extra bed.

They had a band playing at the restaurant until 1AM. Our room was directly above the concert making it impossible to sleep. I wish we would have known this beforehand because staying up that late with two kids was awful. It honestly ruined our trip.

What I didn’t like was the bands playing in the bar that’s so loud you can hear from the 3rd and 4 floors. .. beautiful hotel and bar/dinning area but in my opinion it’s a design flaw. Not enough sound proofing

Newer hotel with spacious rooms, clean and close to restaurants and shops. The stay was very nice, staff were excellent and responsive to requests for needed towels and toiletries. The only thing wrong was elevator to pool was not working and a piece of equipment in gym was out of order. Other than that, very good.

Price and service don't quite match. Actually a bit disappointing for the Marriott brand. When booking our two-night stay, I also booked breakfast for two on each of the days. Expedia got express confirmation from Marriott that breakfast for two was included in the price. On arrival I was told by the lady at the desk that breakfast was not included, even though I showed her the hotel confirmation. She mentioned that the account did show a $50 credit on the account, however she did not have a clue what this was for. She did not clarify. Not being satisfied with this, I returned to the front desk later and was told that this credit was a use-it-or-lose-it credit which we could use for breakfast in the attached restaurant. With the prices they charge, we both had ONE breakfast with a bowl of yogurt and a coffee each. So we got confirmation for two breakfasts and ended up getting only one. To top it off, the waitress in the restaurant was rude and made us feel unwelcome. As if we needed to apologize for being there in the first place. As to cleanliness, It really bother me that there were still pee stains on the outside of the toilet bowl. Not happy overall.

This was a nice, standard hotel. Staff were kind, I was able to do late checkout and store my luggage while I went across the street for lunch. My only complaints are: 1) that the “blankets” are as thin as bed sheets and rooms are cold. As someone who runs cold, I had to double up with both bed blankets and turn up the thermostat to 24. 2) the handle for the water in the shower was loose. So it would not stay parallel/level where I needed it; my options were to swivel it higher to almost scalding or let it slide back down and be colder.

Room was very cold, not enough toiletries or tea and coffee, towels, can hear people’s conversations in other room, door slammed all the time, didn’t expect live music to go until 1 am. Bed light behind pillow went on every time I leaned back. Poor design i guess. Great beds. Need more blankets. Iron good.

It is a modern clean hotel. I have one complaint however: To get hot water in the bathroom sink or shower required running a tap for at least 5 minutes before hot water was available and turning of the tap for a minute or so resulted in another long wait to get hot water again.

I offered to have a friend stay at the hotel as I was unable to accomodate them. Upon check-in, they were advised that the water will be shut off during 11pm and 4am due to a leak. Understandable, but the staff/hotel offered nothing by way of compensation, credit or refund. A room which cost over $200 (for one night's stay) could not be used to it's entirety. There are situations or urgencies that may require the use of water, and the hotel took that utility away.

Staff very kind and helpful. Travelled into town so granddaughter could be seen at local hospital near by. Empathetic staff and accommodating with parking and breakfast the next morning was very much appreciated and helpful with a stressful situation. We will be back for sure.

I was so impressed by this hotel and in particular with their exceptional staff. Parking was easy, free and indoor (which in a Calgary winter is a must). The room itself was spotless and beautifully designed- I found it nicer than many hotels in a higher price bracket. The concierge Sarah really added a personal touch and went out of her way to provide the late checkout my family really needed that day - and did so with a warm smile and the desire to make sure we had a 5-star experience at Courtyard. This hotel punched far above its weight and I will absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone who asks.

The room was beautiful, however, it did take a long time to get hot water. I do want to thank both Expedia and the Courtyard for refunding me one night's stay due to a family emergency. I appreciated it. My husband took violently ill, but thankfully has fully recovered.

This was the perfect place to stay for an appt I had at the hospital just down the street. Easy walking distance and I could leave my car parked at the hotel. There were also good restaurants nearby for supper. The room was clean and tidy with nice modern features. Book directly though, as they do give a better rate if you will be at the hospital.

Disappointed that we were not informed that restaurant on property did not allow minors in after 8pm, jor was there anytime of signage posted. Pool was also rented for private swim lessons on Friday evening which was very disappointing when all my kids wanted to do was swim and us the pool, but felt very in the way and Luke they could not use the facility.
