Hotel was a great location, only 15 minutes drive to Portree and the staff were incredible. It was unfortunate that the restaurant and bar closed so early and we weren’t aware ahead of arriving that the whiskey bar is not open.

The hotel was easy to find, has ample parking, is right across the road from the Sligachan Bridge & is a fairly central location for visiting the Isle. Our room was a bit of a walk up stairs & down hallways toward the back of the hotel, which made for a quiet night, but it is a hike with luggage. The room itself was small, but had decently comfortable twin beds & a place to hang clothing & store bags. Dinner was available at an adjoining restaurant, which is large with a varied menu & televisions and must be pet friendly as there were several dogs under their human’s tables. Breakfast onsite was good with nice choices and friendly staff.

Hotel was quaint, clean, and staff was friendly. First issue was the suite we had booked because of the large spa tub wasn’t working. We called the front desk from our personal phone ( no phone in the suite) and they shared the water had been turned off because it leaks into the room below-the tub was prominently featured on the room photos and was a main reason for booking the suite. The second issue was due to no carpeting in the room and assuming little insulation-every time we got up to use the shower or the bathroom the room below complained we were “moving” furniture around. Our evening was interrupting several times with the staff asking if we were moving furniture around and lastly with the tenet a below coming up and being rude -asking why we were using the bathroom and moving around so much. Additionally, if you like a firm mattress the beds will suit you, if you prefer a softer mattress you may want to consider staying somewhere else. There are no elevators/lifts so if you’re staying in the Pinnacle suite, it’s hard to navigate the stairs with large luggage.

As we had some disability and had a room with an accessible bathroom, This was on the first floor with a considerable number of steps and no lift. However, we were returning the following week and, although we could not be given a ground floor room (there weren't any) the staff promised us a room on our return that only had a few steps instead of a full flight of stairs. This was not ideal, but much better. Otherwise we liked the hotel and the resturant and the breakfast were excellent. We cannot however, recommend this hotel to anyone who is disabled.

Beautiful old hotel with updated comfortable rooms. Plentiful parking on site and directly across from the Sligachan bridge attraction. We ended up dining at the hotel and the meal was fantastic. If you are planning on visiting this area in Skye I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed in a family room, which was large with a good bath room.Large comfy double bed. Only down side was the double sofa bed that was very uncomfortable, would have preferred 2 separate single beds for the children. Great breakfast, it was a pity that the hotels own restaurant was not open for dinner. It was when I made the reservation. No hotel bar either. You can go next door, but it was very busy and not to the same standard, The hotel was very expensive. The outside could do with some maintenance.

This hotel was nice. Clean comfy rooms. Breakfast was nice. Restaurant next door has excellent food. Downside to this was internet was not working. Was told it was broken during a storm and never repaired. Also, Expedia and several reviews said that hotel has laundry facilities. It does not! We did enjoy our stay.

Room was clean and ready when we arrived. Paid for the AM breakfast and highly recommend doing this! The onsite pub had a wonderful and knowledgeable bar staff member that taught us about Scotland whisky. The dinner was wonderful! High tourist area with tour buses stopping in. There is parking for hotel guest.

We did not get the room we booked (Prime King) and instead got an older queen room. When we asked about moving, the only option was a twin room. Our room was extremely dusty and did not feel clean. The room felt moldy. The shampoo appeared to be a combination of the body wash and conditioner and made our hair oily. The staff was friendly. Overall, they seem understaffed and doing the best they could. The restaurant was also not good due to understaffing issues and the bar had no food service on our last night due to a food shortage.

Not sure if all rooms are like this…no ventilation system in room/bathroom, strong and horrid perfume smell to mask other odors I suppose, very old and dirty carpets, heating turned off early in the morning until 3pm (wet clothes never had chance to dry), tap water yellow. Paid 800 pounds for two nights (the most we ever paid for a hotel stay). But if none of this bothers you, location is extraordinary and parking is included. Nice that they provide water bottles. Very nice shampoo and soap.

Beautiful property and stunning location. Staff were amazingly attentive and friendly. Dinner and breakfast were nice. Our only gripe was the cleanliness - our bedding had quite a lot of glitter on and the floors in the room/bathroom had hair on. More generally, the carpets throughout the hotel, bar and breakfast room felt like they need to be renewed.

The place was very tired and the cleanliness could be improved. I found a the stalk from a buch of grapes by the side of the bed which i was surprised was missed if the floors had supposedly been hoovered!? The ajoining restaurant/pub was good. Great service and food was good (not great but value for money). The maon thing for me was the convenient parking.

The location is stunning, looking at the mountains and a stream. Reece and staff in the restaurant were fantastic and very accommodating. The carpets in the halls and stairwells were a bit dirty, but everything else was tidy and comfortable.

This was an expensive nightly rate and yet the bathroom was in a bit of disrepair. The tub was cracked in multiple areas. The bed was older and not that comfortable. Good breakfast but not the most friendly staff everywhere. Water was tinted brown.

When we return to Isle of Skye in the future we will definitely stay here. We loved the hotel and its location but there were issues. The staff was amazing and exactly what you would want away from home. The hotel is beautiful and our room spacious with a great bathroom. But when I went to open the window it almost fell into the room. One hinge was broken and almost a disaster. We lost WiFi the day before we left and ended up burning through our phone data allotment. The location Is across from a great view so many visitors coming and going in the parking lot making noise. The room above us too was too noisy for our liking too. The breakfast was great and waking up to the view of the mountains was special. Like I said, we will always stay there but being in such a distant and great location also has its problems.

Very nice hotel. Rooms were upstairs & no elevator. Room was slightly small but still plenty comfortable. Our TV did not work but our travel partners TV did. Restaurant next door was very nice. Breakfast was great with large selection of hot & cold items.

This is one of the oldest hotels in Scotland that has limited rooms, something like 20 rooms for the whole hotel. The room was really nice, but has twin beds and no air conditioning, which is pretty typical in Scotland but just be aware. The amenities were fantastic. The bathroom was really nice that had a bathtub big enough for me to fit in and I’m over 6 feet tall so that was super helpful. It was recently remodeled it looks like very modern looking, and the views out the window are tremendous. When we checked in, we were greeted by the staff the assistant manager the general manager came by and said hello later gave us the history of the hotel. The great, great thing about this hotel is the walks and hikes even go on right outside the front door pass the old Roman bridge and up into the Highlands as far as you want to go. Also, just so you’re aware there’s only one place to eat in the pub next-door, which is a whole separate review. But they allegedly have the second best whiskey, selection, and all of Scotland, which I was able to sample, lol. Overall, really solid hotel, but just be aware that it’s 15 minutes outside of Portree and out there all by itself.

The bathroom was really nice that had a bathtub big enough for me to fit in and I’m over 6 feet tall so that was super helpful. It was recently remodeled it looks like very modern looking, and the views out the window are tremendous. When we checked in, we were greeted by the staff the assistant manager the general manager came by and said hello later gave us the history of the hotel. The great, great thing about this hotel is the walks and hikes even go on right outside the front door pass the old Roman bridge and up into the Highlands as far as you want to go. Also, just so you’re aware there’s only one place to eat in the pub next-door, which is a whole separate review. But they allegedly have the second best whiskey, selection, and all of Scotland, which I was able to sample, lol. Overall, really solid hotel, but just be aware that it’s 15 minutes outside of Portree and out there all by itself.

Very friendly staff, amazing views from our window, large room, and a very convenient location to visit Isle of Skye. The only thing I had an issue with is large windows in the bathroom that didn't offer alot of privacy. I was always concerned that people in the building next to ours could see in. Also, the shower leaked outside the door alot. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay!

We rented the Pinnacle Suite as it slept 6 people. However there was only one king sized bed and the remaining beds were two single hide a bed chairs and one sofa hide a bed...all of the mattresses were on the floor. We also were unaware that we had to climb two sets of spiral staircases to access the room. The room was lovely however and the hotel was also lovely. The staff was very helpful and we enjoyed an excellent meal in the restaurant. The breakfast was also good.

Hotel was a great location, only 15 minutes drive to Portree and the staff were incredible. It was unfortunate that the restaurant and bar closed so early and we weren’t aware ahead of arriving that the whiskey bar is not open.

I don’t often write reviews but feel compelled to here. After a long day of driving from Culloden, we hit the brunt of Storm Amy in the dark before we ever hit the Skye bridge. After what felt like a lifetime in 90+ mph winds we finally got to the hotel and felt like we were walking into a friends house. The staff made us feel incredibly welcome. They shuffled us over to the pub next door for a warm meal and a cold beer (the food is excellent), took our bags to our rooms for us, and checked in on us while the storm passed to make sure we were comfortable. They absolutely went above and beyond at every step. The next couple of days were incredible. Breakfast is top notch, the rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the location is amazing. We ate at the pub each night and they were some of the best meals of our trip. We will absolutely be back.

The onsite pub had a wonderful and knowledgeable bar staff member that taught us about Scotland whisky. The dinner was wonderful! High tourist area with tour buses stopping in. As we had some disability and had a room with an accessible bathroom, This was on the first floor with a considerable number of steps and no lift. However, we were returning the following week and, although we could not be given a ground floor room (there weren't any) the staff promised us a room on our return that only had a few steps instead of a full flight of stairs. This was not ideal, but much better. Otherwise we liked the hotel and the resturant and the breakfast were excellent. We cannot however, recommend this hotel to anyone who is disabled.

Easy check in - although we were not informed that breakfast was included (we have been on a large trip and weren’t aware). Location is picturesque - although there is nothing else around the hotel restaurant - next town is 9 miles away. Room was clean and nice. Views great. Food was good. Thank you to the front desk/manager on our last morning who told us we were entitled to breakfast- even though it was nearly over she organized what we were after with no issues. Over all good stay

The hotel was easy to find, has ample parking, is right across the road from the Sligachan Bridge & is a fairly central location for visiting the Isle. Our room was a bit of a walk up stairs & down hallways toward the back of the hotel, which made for a quiet night, but it is a hike with luggage. The room itself was small, but had decently comfortable twin beds & a place to hang clothing & store bags. Dinner was available at an adjoining restaurant, which is large with a varied menu & televisions and must be pet friendly as there were several dogs under their human’s tables. Breakfast onsite was good with nice choices and friendly staff.

Beautiful old hotel with updated comfortable rooms. Plentiful parking on site and directly across from the Sligachan bridge attraction. We ended up dining at the hotel and the meal was fantastic. If you are planning on visiting this area in Skye I highly recommend this hotel.

The Pinnacle Suite was amazing! Our kids had their own space and so did we! It has a cozy, modern update that makes it feel like home. Breakfast was delicious and the restaurant next door had a great dinner with extremely friendly staff (this was a great perk since most food places were closed mid October). The view from the room was also amazing!

Absolutely perfect spot for our Isle of Skye adventure. The Sligachan Bridge is magical and the backdrop is beyond description. Hotel was percent. Room comfy and cozy. Food at the pub was NOT typical pub fare. Delicious menu. Breakfast was equally good and great way to start each day. Would highly recommend and can say we will be back.

The overall experience was disappointing based on the price point and the pictures on hotel.com that did not match the reality. When we arrived at the hotel it was being renovated and the main restaurant was closed. We had not been advised of this in advance. In addition there were coach loads of tourists in the parking lot and in the bar restaurant adjacent (part of the hotel). When we arrived we were told we were too early (12:30pm) and told to go to the bar next door. There was no welcome and no offer to store luggage. Our room while large and the bathroom had been updated, was dark, shabby, and we had to close the curtains to get privacy. In the evening when we wanted drinks in the hotel lounge, the staff seemed unsure of how to pour them and how to charge for them. Other guests gave up waiting and headed back to their rooms. Our feeling is that the staff needed training and were very new. On a positive note, the staff in the bar/restaurant next door, and at breakfast were friendly and accommodating.
