Fantastic two night stay at The Plough this weekend. We have family in the area and booked this hotel based on a previous experience of dining here. We were not disappointed. The room (a deluxe king) was spacious, spotlessly clean, well equipped and beautifully decorated. The bed was big and comfortable with pillows that felt like sleeping on clouds. We didn’t use the mini bar but took full advantage of the Nespresso machine and complimentary water. On the first night we enjoyed amazing food from the specials board in the dining area along with a great selection of wines & beers. Although the hotel doesn’t have a car park there was ample parking close by on the road and in this beautiful village location it is safe to leave your car. The hotel fully lived up to expectations and we will definitely be back to stay.

Myself and my daughter stayed one night as we were going to see Tom Grennan . The staff were so friendly and helpful . The room was lovely and furnished with those extra finishing touches that made it extra special. We had an evening meal which was lovely and the coach to the open air theatre made it a stress free evening 😀 We will definately be back.Thank you x

Great pub in a quaint village within Scarborough near to all North Bay attractions. The rooms are all different, fitted out and decorated to a high quality standard. The pub area has a great atmosphere along with the dining areas. Food is of a very high quality and great portion sizes

The first thing to mention is that this property is on 3 floors. There are 30 very steep, very narrow, stairs between the ground floor and the top bedroom. Although it does indeed sleep 6 people, having 3 double beds, the bed in the attic room is half under the eaves of the roof and you must bend double to get in and risk knocking yourself out to get there. None of the upstairs windows open. We tried every window on the upper 2 floors and were unable to budge one. The larger of the 2 bedrooms on the second floor is directly joined onto the house next door which we believe is someone’s permanent residence - it has the worst soundproofing of any property we have stayed in and we were woken up every day around 6am. This is not the fault of the neighbours going about their daily lives, it’s that the walls are genuinely that thin. The on street parking is terrible and a scramble for parking spaces that don’t mean you have to climb a bank of mud to get out of your car. The house itself, although getting a little tired in places, was very clean and touches like the under floor heating were great. Tea and coffee were provided (a total of 6 teabags and 6 coffee pods for 4 people for a 6 day stay) and the welcome pack was a nice touch even if it was missing a couple of items. The pub is incredibly busy on a Friday and Saturday - we couldn’t even get in the bar for a drink on Saturday but I know they take bookings for food so if you were wanting to eat there we would advise you to book.

We stayed here while visiting Scarborough open air theatre. We got the wrong night and ended up having to book an extra night. The staff were so helpful and really went the extra mile to help us. We also took advantage of the shuttle bus which was a great choice. The rooms were beautiful, our first room was larger but both rooms were perfectly functional, beautiful decor, clean and welcoming. We stayed for dinner both nights and the food was delicious, we would definitely return, I wouldn’t consider booking anywhere else if we visited Scarborough again.

Lovely quiet hotel in a small quiet village on the outskirts of Scarborough. Rooms were spotless, comfy beds, extra pillows already in room, fantastic shower (best we've had in a hotel), molten brown toiletries. Only down side was the noise from the extractor fan as we were in the back of the hotel. When mentioned staff were very apologetic as it hadnt been switched off at 9 as it should have been. Only gave 4/5 for amenities as there was only limited choice for gluten free evening meal, food otherwise was delicious. Would definitely recommend

Just a one night away trip with a couple of days coastal walking. Very smart pub with rooms. In a superior room with high quality fixtures and fittings, very comfortable. Staff all very friendly with an excellent dinner menu and very good breakfast. Only minor issue was how quick dinner service was - would have preferred to have spent longer over our meal. Starter arrived very quickly and the main arrived before we had even finished our starter ! As I say however a minor issue in the overall scheme of things and we would certainly visit again

Not our first stay here - a returning visit, as the previous one was so good - luckily, we got the same room as before; beautifully decorated, extremely quiet and comfortable, the bathroom quite superb, and already looking for an excuse to go again. The food in the bar/restaurant is quite, quite delicious, and the staff have obviously been very well briefed on how to deal with customers. We cannot fault this property at all - wonderful.

Nice rooms with high quality furnishings and comfortable bed. My evening meal was superb. Good position for driving into Scarborough or onto the North Yorkshire Moors. I would have liked a shaving mirror and milk for the drinks in the room.

Lovely designed rooms, felt very expensive and a touch of elegance too with bath salts robes etc… Situated in a beautiful village with a lot of history, convenient to Scarborough too, a 40 min walk or a 4 minute drive away from the north side coast.

Fantastic 3night break at the plough. We stayed in room 3 had everything we could possibility need but the room was on the small side. Cosy. Food was excellent, very clean and all staff excellent.

Wat a beautiful house clean and furnished lovely a lot of space in this house 3 good bedrooms would deffo stay again if needed to we were up for a family weddin with family living in whitby and scarborough breakfasts were a bit expensive but didnt really have time to have this anyway we did hav a problem with 1 bedroom door wen it stuck and couldnt get out phoned reception at the plough which is across the road and were there with in a min excellent this is worth the visit thankyou

Just a one night away trip with a couple of days coastal walking. Very smart pub with rooms. In a superior room with high quality fixtures and fittings, very comfortable. Staff all very friendly with an excellent dinner menu and very good breakfast. Only minor issue was how quick dinner service was - would have preferred to have spent longer over our meal. Starter arrived very quickly and the main arrived before we had even finished our starter ! As I say however a minor issue in the overall scheme of things and we would certainly visit again

We stayed in Sunbeam Cottage for the second time. First night all was well. The second night, the people staying in the accommodation next door, also owned by The Plough had a party which started at about 2am and finished at about 4:30. Their lounge was right next door to our bedroom which meant we were then awake for 2.5 hours. Despite a complaint made to the Plough the next day, with a promise the manager would call, sadly no response from them. Such a shame it spoilt our stay that the manager didn't bother to contact us. Our previous stay had been faultless. With a spend of approx £800 over the 3 night stay on visit 1 and 2, we expected better.

We would recommend this property to anyone. The rooms are finished to a very high standard, The food quality is excellent and the staff are very friendly. There was some confusion on other people’s food orders but they handled it promptly at dinner time. It is worth noting that breakfast has to be preordered by 9pm for the next day which we felt should be reviewed as we forgot and it meant we couldn’t have breakfast in the morning and the menu wasn’t any different to a normal breakfast menu. Don’t let this put you off the plough it’s a great place and we will return

Loved the property. It was beautifully decorated, and had everything you could possibly need. We have stayed with five star stays before, so this wasn’t the first time and won’t be the last. However the first staff member I spoke to on arrival at the Plough to collect the keys was nothing other than miserable!! Granted we did arrive 30 minutes early, but he was so dismissive of us. I don’t know whether I disturbed his precious time but he was most unpleasant. Took the shine off the stay. He avoided me when I did go back at the correct time, clearly unhappy in life and working in the incorrect industry of customer service.

This is a nice place but we experienced quite a few issues. The listing says it is dog friendly but when we arrived it turns out this only applies to their self contained accommodation. We got no apology despite them agreeing that the listing wasn’t accurate and we had to arrange for our dog to stay with family. The front door is locked when the pub is closed which is a bit annoying. The cleaning staff ignored the do not disturb sign on the door and let themselves in one morning. It all just seemed very disorganised and the staff weren’t very professional, especially at breakfast and check in. It’s a shame as the rooms are lovely, the bed is very comfortable, it’s clean and is otherwise a great place to stay.

We stayed here while visiting Scarborough open air theatre. We got the wrong night and ended up having to book an extra night. The staff were so helpful and really went the extra mile to help us. We also took advantage of the shuttle bus which was a great choice. The rooms were beautiful, our first room was larger but both rooms were perfectly functional, beautiful decor, clean and welcoming. We stayed for dinner both nights and the food was delicious, we would definitely return, I wouldn’t consider booking anywhere else if we visited Scarborough again.

Fantastic two night stay at The Plough this weekend. We have family in the area and booked this hotel based on a previous experience of dining here. We were not disappointed. The room (a deluxe king) was spacious, spotlessly clean, well equipped and beautifully decorated. The bed was big and comfortable with pillows that felt like sleeping on clouds. We didn’t use the mini bar but took full advantage of the Nespresso machine and complimentary water. On the first night we enjoyed amazing food from the specials board in the dining area along with a great selection of wines & beers. Although the hotel doesn’t have a car park there was ample parking close by on the road and in this beautiful village location it is safe to leave your car. The hotel fully lived up to expectations and we will definitely be back to stay.

What gem of a cottage with all modern facilities and beautifully renovated, close to the Plough Inn with their great staff. There’s also another pub and tea rooms close by so all needs catered for! Only stayed one night but it would excellent for a break/holiday. Transport straight in to Scarborough. Highly recommended.

Rooms were spotless, comfy beds, extra pillows already in room, fantastic shower (best we've had in a hotel), molten brown toiletries. Lovely designed rooms, felt very expensive and a touch of elegance too with bath salts robes etc… Situated in a beautiful village with a lot of history, convenient to Scarborough too, a 40 min walk or a 4 minute drive away from the north side coast.
