This is a wonderful, historic building with great amenities, friendly staff, and a reasonable price. There is a well-stocked kitchenette because there is no restaurant onsite, but there are also several restaurants within a short walking distance. Several significant historic sites are also within walking distance.

I liked having the kitchen area with a fridge, microwave and dishwasher. The free standing fan came in very handy as it was very hot when I visited. As a solo traveller I felt very safe and found it very quiet. Handy to have shops and restaurants nearby. Great to have free parking right at the front of the building.

Fantastic studio apartment, well stocked with everything a self catering apartment should have, great breakfast hamper, there were several cars in the private car park but we didn’t hear any noise at all while in the apartment.

Nice property for the most part. Didn’t realize and wasn’t told bedrooom is below ground with no windows for courtyard suite but it didn’t bother us after all. Clothes washer was a bit dirty but was free to use.

This is a unique property in the stylish old Court house. The reception is excellent, Jim is both clear and friendly. The rooms are spacious and functional with excellent bathrooms and what a great shower! The location is right in the center of this lovely town full of history!

So the hotel itself was very cute, staff was friendly enough, the room we had was run down and not as clean as I expected from the reviews I’d seen! The room configuration was so strange, the bedroom upstairs is what we chose to use because it had the bathroom! What we didn’t know is the bathroom door wouldn’t shut from the outside and the lights where on sensors, so anytime anyone wanted to use the bathroom in the night the light would come on as wake you up! The sensor would stay on too, so the light was on forever after! They do not provide wash cloths, idk if that’s cultural or something! They did provide hair dryer, room fan, and a couple places in town delivered dinner which was nice for a night in, which was not advertised! All in all, not terrible, not great either!

As a contractor, the court residence ticks every box. The whole property was clean and very modern. Finished to a very good standard. The large powerful shower was amazing and very good after a cold days work. The complimentary basket of food for breakfast was excellent and replenished evey day. Definitely return

This place looks like it is…an old court house with some mismatched furniture thrown about. The hot water was so hot, it will melt your skin. The shower was too hot because there was little to no cold water feeding in. There is not someone on the property 24/7, so don’t need anything later than 10:00! The carpet looked stained and the kitchen area is so tiny, it’s impossible to maneuver. The room is hot from the electrics, the hot showers that heat up every space and the heated towel bar, but thankfully you can open a window. There was no extra bedding. A heavy down comforter is all, which is not acceptable in a non-air conditioned room in July! The bed was okay but the pillows were lumps of hard matter that hurt your ears! Good luck!

We stayed in one of the larger suits. It had a great little kitchen complete with breakfast items so you don’t have to rush out in the morning. Property was very quiet and central to all the things there are to see.

Fantastic stay. Brilliant location and gorgeous, extremely well equipped rooms. The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! Honestly cannot fault our stay at all. From the breakfast basket/ items in the fridge, to mood lighting, mirrors with lights, big tv, huge comfy bed and everything else. It was a 10/10 all round. We can’t wait to stay again. Thank you :)

Hotel location was perfectly located in the middle of downtown. A close walk to the palace and several restaurants and pubs. Room was a bit sterile. The bed was uncomfortable and temperature control was a bit of an issue. WI-FI signal was pretty weak. However, I would recommend this place as the location was great.

The only negative thing is that the room that we were in was a little on the small side. I say this because my wife and I were on a 2 week holiday and there was little room for or luggage.

We had a wonderful stay at Court Residence. The owner/host was very welcoming and friendly upon our arrival. Our room was very clean, nicely furnished, nice amenities. The hotel had provided in-room breakfast items that were extremely helpful and convenient! The train station is just a very short walk from the hotel. Linlithgow Palace and the town square are almost across the street. There were some nice little pubs and restaurants right within walking distance. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. We would highly recommend them!

The apartment was in excellent condition and the layout well thought out. Every member of staff we spoke to were very friendly and helpful. They contacted me on a number of occasions on our arrival date to ensure we entered the car park ok we got checked in very quickly and they contacted me to ensure we had settled in ok

Lovely Hotel ina great lication with friendly staff on Reception (Hazel). The room was a suite which was lovely and had cooking facilities and a hamper for breakfast. Large screen TVC at foot if a very comfortable large bed. Would definitely recommend this property and stay again

It is a tradition in our family to start a visit to Scotland in Court Residence. We have always liked it a lot, but this time we were disappointed. I booked through hotels.com and ordered (and paid for) their best room (The duplex). Unfortunately we did not get it. Then the breakfast, which is as usual some products on a breakfast basket and fridge in the room. Best before date of the bread was few days in the past. The milk in the fridge was a leftover from previous people.... So breakfast outside. When we came back late that day (After the tattoo) reception was already closed, but - Nothing changed on the breakfast option except that the bread was 1 day more over the limit. - But also the towels we left on the bathroom floor were hung back up to dry........ I have to admit that there was honest shock in the eyes of the receptionist when we checked out. But not sure if we will keep this tradition alive.

Court Residence was a great place to stay in Linlithgow, close to historical attractions, eating and drinking venues and plenty of walks around the loch and canal. Hosts were very helpful and room was lovely.
Court Residence was a great place to stay in Linlithgow, close to historical attractions, eating and drinking venues and plenty of walks around the loch and canal. Hosts were very helpful and room was lovely.

We really appreciated the thoughtful conversion of this former Sheriff Courts building into several high quality apartments. Right in the centre of Linlithgow across from the Palace, everything is on-hand and there’s convenient on-site parking too. Our Executive suite was a large bright room with high ceilings and all mod cons. The only disappointment was probably the ‘basket breakfast’ which we felt could have been a bit more inviting, given the room price. In the middle of July, when there’s so many fab summer fruits in season, apples and bananas were a bit dull. As was the standard loaf and little packets of cereal. I’ve stayed at B&Bs with more interesting offerings. A second niggle was the bed sheets that didn’t quite fit the beds. Odd and annoying when they constantly slip down during the night to reveal the mattress protector. I didn’t feel they were the best quality cotton for the price charged either.

Such cool history behind the hotel. We were able to leave the car on site for the day and take the train into Edinburgh, the Linlithgow Palace was right across the street! The room was plenty comfy, very clean and stocked well. The staff was extremely friendly, I would absolutely stay there again!

An ideal place to stay...beautiful surroundings, beautiful walks, lovely town with all that's needed..shops, cafes, bars...near mainline train station, ideal for Edinburgh and Glasgow... cannot speak too highly.

We are so glad we chose to stay here for our recent trip to visit Edinburgh , we had the best of both worlds just a 20min train journey into Edinburgh , Linlithgow is a lovely little town with plenty of eateries to choose from , highly recommend staying here x

It was close to shops, restaurants and the train station. It is very reasonably priced and Edinburgh is just a 29 minute train ride away. They stock your kitchen with eggs, milk, bread, cereals, fruit bowl, coffes and teas. They replenish anything you've used each morning. If you need anything, all you must do is ask. Friendly and informative management.

This is a wonderful, historic building with great amenities, friendly staff, and a reasonable price. There is a well-stocked kitchenette because there is no restaurant onsite, but there are also several restaurants within a short walking distance. Several significant historic sites are also within walking distance.

Fantastic stay. Brilliant location and gorgeous, extremely well equipped rooms. The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! Honestly cannot fault our stay at all. From the breakfast basket/ items in the fridge, to mood lighting, mirrors with lights, big tv, huge comfy bed and everything else. It was a 10/10 all round. We can’t wait to stay again. Thank you :)

Fantastic studio apartment, well stocked with everything a self catering apartment should have, great breakfast hamper, there were several cars in the private car park but we didn’t hear any noise at all while in the apartment.

It is a tradition in our family to start a visit to Scotland in Court Residence. We have always liked it a lot, but this time we were disappointed. I booked through hotels.com and ordered (and paid for) their best room (The duplex). Unfortunately we did not get it. Then the breakfast, which is as usual some products on a breakfast basket and fridge in the room. Best before date of the bread was few days in the past. The milk in the fridge was a leftover from previous people.... So breakfast outside. When we came back late that day (After the tattoo) reception was already closed, but - Nothing changed on the breakfast option except that the bread was 1 day more over the limit. - But also the towels we left on the bathroom floor were hung back up to dry........ I have to admit that there was honest shock in the eyes of the receptionist when we checked out. But not sure if we will keep this tradition alive.
