Holiday Inn Express St. Albans - M25, Jct.22

Great place to stop overnight - easy to find, clean and good value. There’s a bar onsite and a few pubs within walking distance. Recommended.

No laundry facilities.

Recently modernised, decent bed and pillows, staff were friendly. No restaurant at night though, if you need it and the WIFI reached our bedroom but didn’t work on either of the WIFI access points. Decent location for the M25 and reasonably priced.

Hotel is a complete building site from the exterior - but usable inside from reception - bar area - rooms Not recommended for a Holiday while still a building site. I was disappointed on arrival

Nice, clean hotel in a good location for our needs. Good breakfast which is included, nice rooms, good comfy beds and an excellent shower. The hotel is having refurbishment on the outside, maybe cladding but doesn’t affect the rooms inside.

Very close to the motorway and large shopping area. The breakfast included was good. There was scaffolding on the outside during our visit but interiors seemed to have been recently updated. Rooms were quiet, amenities were good and beds comfortable. Shout out to James for his help during our stay!

Hotel looks quite nice from outside, however room was quite basic and carpets were stained. Breakfast was fine in line with other hotels within the price range.

I found the towel in toilet and bedsheet are dirty but I did not call them to change as I think all are the same I even though : did they change ?

This hotel was in a really convenient location for me as it is not far from the M25. The room was nice, but there was an issue with a very noisy fan in the bathroom that could not be turned off, so it did disturb my sleep. The bathroom was clean on the surface, but would benefit from a deep clean to get rid of some of the mould and smell. Looking (or sniffing) the hole at the back of the sink was not pleasant - but hopefully that is something that a deep clean could fix.

The carpet in the eating area was disgusting. This made us wonder if this was representative of the hygiene throughout.

The room was not cleaned properly and was reported to the check in desk. The bar and cafe area didn't quite blend with the reception area and was not fully staff and they were struggling to cope with service. The seating area was not properly cleaned. The breakfast room was also not cleaned not fully staffed.

The stay was fine. However the room had a strange whistling sound coming from the air vent. Even with the A/C off. It seemed to disappear around midnight and returned in the morning. The room smelt a bit dusty but was clean. The only other let down was breakfast. Going down at 9am was a bit of a mistake. They were out of hash brown, sausages, scrambled eggs and then beans. They were restocked but at all different times and as it was a busy time everything became out of sync and we ended up getting separate plates with individual items on them as the food was being replenished at different times. However, the staff were friendly and trying their best. I would stay here again as it’s was cheap and cheerful and was exactly where I needed to be.

Stayed here before and repeat trip was just as good as the first. Really friendly staff; spotlessly clean hotel.

Room had stains on carpet and on curtains. Not enough towels and sofa bed was not set up ...had to request beding

Rooms are very small but quiet given the main road it’s next to, you can hear very little unless there’s a motorbike or a super car going past. Rooms are clean but the bar and breakfast areas could do with new furniture. Breakfast was good and included oat milk

Rooms are nice, clean and well appointed but not big enough for a family to stay in. No wardrobe or storage space.

Booked a room which was near to a lift due to old war wound issues with my legs and walking with a stick as walking and stairs isn’t my best forte The room which turned out to be a room with two single beds was the usual appearance for a holiday inn However one of the beds could not be used as the divan base was badly broken which you could see when you looked closely at the side of the frame which the wood was obviously broken under the fabric covering The other bed was also damaged to the base but managed to make a do as I was just so tired I couldn’t be bothered to make a fuss st the time

Always stay here when in the area. Great staff and comfortable rooms. My only gripe is the weak Wi-Fi but that doesn’t stop me staying.

We checked in after a 13 hour journey. Got to the room, toilet didn’t flush, WiFi didn’t work, and no tissues. Only 1 hand towel and the room was not practical for storing with no shelving. I had to walk sideways to get out of the bed due to a lack of space. Luckily it was a one night stay. When I checked out, there was no compensation offered apart from points. One of the worst stays at any IHG hotel.

The staff at this hotel were excellent - every single person we met was helpful, courteous and went out of their way. However the room and bed was tiny - we booked this as a family of 4 and the second bed was so small our two children struggled to fit in it. The team resolved this for us but I can’t recommend the hotel for a family stay.

One night stay to attend a wedding. Very nice hotel, very new and very well designed. Not a huge room but it had everything that we needed. Nice comfortable beds, clean , choice of pillows, nice shower . They pack a lot into a smallish space. No problems with noise from M25 (double glazing) Good air con and a very good full english breakfast. And free parking

Really lovely and friendly staff, I didn't catch names but the lady checking us in on the night shift and the lady in breakfast buffet were both incredibly nice and helpful. All areas clean, toiletries and towels all stocked in room and the most comfy hotel bed I've slept in! Plenty of free parking and handy for petrol or supplies as just on a shopping park, then straight out onward to the M25.

We stayed for the weekend for a family wedding locally. The staff were very helpful and gave us an option for late check out. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Little mix up with our room when we first go here but staff were so quick to rectify and so apologetic. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and plenty of towels. Lovely shower. Breakfast had plenty of choices and was delicious. Thank you we will be back

Receptionist on arrival was a tad offhand but rest of the team were excellent throughout. We stayed on a Saturday night and it seemed to be a lot of guests were there for an event nearby so was noisy with people coming back late (noisy doors) otherwise nice facilities, clean and breakfast was good

Terrible experience! Rude staff and extremely unhelpful. There isn’t enough characters for me to write what a horrific experience I have had but I will briefly write what has happened. I was given a broken iron, told by Jess that it is working, I explained to her that it is the iron itself that is broken as water is leaking out and the whole metal bit at the bottom is detached to which she rolled her eyes and disregarded what I was telling her. Staff are extremely rude. Jess in particular, rolled her eyes at me whilst I was speaking to her and giving me attitude. I don’t understand how someone like that is allowed to work in a hotel! Absolutely terrible customer service and interpersonal skills. This was literally the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Will definitely warn others to stay away! 👎

Excellent position for M25 , and nearby towns welcoming, modern and clean .Added bonus of breakfast with good variety included.

Clean and tidy, easy check in/check out. Location was great with it being on a retail park and only 10 minute taxi to st albans. We stayed the night before a flight from Luton and the airport is just a short (and easy) drive as well.

Great for Wembley, lots of places to eat around the hotel. Colney Fox 5 mins walk away. Sainsburys, MnS, JD just minutes away. Breakfast was fantastic. Definitely go again.

Hotel is nice, staff is super friendly, breakfast is good. Be aware, if you arrive by train the hotel is far away from the train station, buses go on a regular basis from the shoppingcenter nearby but they stop service rather early in the evening wich means you need a cab to get there.

A perfectly average hotel, nothing particularly special, nothing particularly bad. Handy for supermarket, fast food and motorway. This obviously brings traffic noise, uninspiring surroundings.

Great place to stay if you want to visit St Alban's just axshort drive from the city. Great shopping right next door.

Breakfast was lovely a little limited on choice but delicious. Room was very comfortable and warm, couldn't hear the main road even though we were right next to it. Evening meal was very disappointing, a few items unavailable even though we went as soon as it opened, food was obviously ready meals which were quite expensive for what you received.

Breakfast was chaotic, no hot food left, had to wait 20 minutes while they cooked more.

The rooms were spotless and comfy. Also they were very quiet. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of hot and cold food.

I liked the hotel. The staff were accommodating and the hotel was quite smart apart from the lobby chairs which were stained. The bed was very comfortable and the room was good. My only problem was with the breakfast. The way the room worked was that foot traffic travelled around a central area in a clockwise direction with food and drinks/toasters etc on both sides of a walkway about 3-4 foot wide. When I arrived the coffee machine was broken so a backlog of people were waiting in this area whilst other guests were trying to pass through collecting their breakfasts meaning that it was extremely cramped with people shoving into other people and leaving no space for anyone else to wait or pass through the area. I sat down to wait for 10 minutes and tried again but it was still exactly the same. I got barged into twice whilst in the queue for a coffee. I sat down again and waited another 10 minutes. When there was finally enough space for me to pass there were no croissants left. I asked a staff member if there were any more and she said no. I looked around the carousel. 1 rasher of greasy bacon. 2 hash browns. No eggs, no beans no sausages. I decided to just have a piece of toast but when I walked round to the toaster it had been turned off. The coffee machine had also been turned off and the pancake maker so I ended up with NO breakfast or coffee even though we’d arrived in the breakfast area at 9.25am. This was a very poor show. Shame, could have been avoided.

The hotel was great, clean modern room, comfortable and would have been spacious but the sofa bed was made up. Food in the restaurant wasn't very appetising this time though I'm afraid. Breakfast was OK but the curry I had for dinner was not good, chewy chicken and hard nan bread!

Fantastic Hotel for easy access to surrounding events. Its clean and very comfortable and the staff are very helpful If there is a downside its the evening food menu - simple eat before you arrive . Breakfast is very good. Amazingly sound proofed - right on the M25 but we didn't hear a sound!
