The pub was a good base for a training course I was on just a few miles down the road. Furniturein the small room i had is a few odds and ends thrown together. Room is directly above the Karaoke! which is on Friday and Saturday till midnight, last orders are at 12:30 so don’t plan on sleeping till 1am! This is not mentioned until you have paid online. Room toilet and bedding was clean. no wardrobe facilities just 3 coat hangers hanging off a bookshelf, so pack light.

Music from the pub was very loud in our room which we weren't told about. Kept us awake and the floor was vibrating with the noise. The mattress on bed was very uncomfortable due to the springs. Obviously an old mattress. Didn't dare look at it.

This is the noisiest place I've ever stayed. It was the world cup semi-finals with England nothing could be done about that but the match started at 8pm and finished about 10 pm and that was fine. The problem was the fact that directly below my room was some kind of disco at which so loud that the floor was shaking. It started at 6:00 p.m. and only finished at 11 p.m. and it was literally like leaning up against huge base speaker. It is absolutely ridiculous that they should rent out rooms above where they know they're holding a very, very loud disco. Then things started up again at about 6:00 a.m. when the person in the room next door to me went to the bathroom. The walls were so thin that I could hear everyone of his bodily functions from coughing onwards.

I have stayed in all 3 rooms now The last visit was not as relaxing as the first 2. probably as I had the smallest room but it was still good. Very comfortable beds in all rooms. clean and well maintained. the only issue with me is the doors do bang a bit and the door to the owners accommodation is along the room corridor so if they are in and out its a bit noisy but fortunately not all the time... I like the PUB the location and the comfort of the rooms beds. so all in all a decent place to stay but just remember its a pub and they have people and music going on until 2300 but not every day. still I would stay again. As I try to support the small business where I can.
