Courtyard by Marriott Nassau Downtown/Junkanoo Beach

This was a short stay for my first trip to the Bahamas, but the location was excellent and very easy to walk around. Part of the hotel was under renovation, so the pool area was unusable, but it didn’t bother me at all. Staff was pleasant and helpful from the few interactions I had with them.

The cleaning staff was excellent. The self-parking for no fee was helpful. Breakfast was too expensive and so never had breakfast in the hotel.

The staff were outstanding! Our room was clean. The amenities are lacking but renovations are underway. I would come back here again as it is located across from the beach and close to everything

The hotel is within walking distance to downtown and across the street from the beach. The amenities were working well, the bed was comfortable. There was only one small pool operable during my time there. The bigger pool was closed. They could have scheduled the work to be done during the offseason when it's less busy. The halls and rugs on the floors are very outdated.

The amount it cost to stay at this property was absurd. This is not a resort atmosphere at all. The way this hotel was advertised was false. False advertising. I would have paid a few dollars more to stay at Bahamar, British colonial, or others nearby. There isn’t a poolside bar, takes over an hour to get food at night. People great. Facilities are very poor.

Food Orders in the Cafe takes too long. The pool area was being painted and we were given a poolside room, therefore, we could not enjoy the pool area at all!

Entire stay no wifi access. Given 10 credit but was worthless

Major renovation need. The water was brown. One night, there weren't any running water.

Kiddie pool closed so kids couldn’t use it. It said because of wet paint but nobody was ever even painting. A little run down my Marriott standards. More like an IHG mid range Hotel, not Marriott. &42 for their buffet was laughable and a “hard pass”. Beds were uncomfortable & seemed tiny. AC was super loud throughout the night. Didn’t sleep really til I checking into Baja Mar the next day….

This hotel was amazing to stay in. The bed was comfortable and the room was spotless. I would definitely stay again!

I recently stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott in Nassau, Bahamas, and I can confidently say it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have ever had. For a brand that prides itself on consistency, comfort, and quality, this location completely missed the mark from the moment I walked into my room. The room was *nowhere near Marriott standards*. Immediately upon entering, I was hit with a **strong, foul stench** that lingered throughout my entire stay. No amount of air freshener, ventilation, or time made it better. It was embarrassing, uncomfortable, and downright unacceptable. I could not relax, I could not enjoy my stay, and I certainly could not invite any guests over because the odor was overwhelming and unpleasant. A hotel room should be a place of rest—not a space you’re trying to escape from. Beyond the smell, the overall quality of the room felt neglected and poorly maintained. It was clear that cleanliness and basic upkeep were not priorities here. For the rate I paid, I expected a clean, fresh, and welcoming environment. Instead, I received a room that felt old, unkept, and unworthy of the Marriott name. What makes this even worse is that this was not a minor inconvenience—it affected my entire trip. When you travel, you trust a reputable brand to deliver a certain level of comfort. This location failed on every front. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The room smelled like cigarettes and mildew and was filthy. The floor were so dirty my socks were black after an hour. The smell made me sick so my husband asked for them to change our room so they did which it didn’t smell but was still not very clean. Hair and sand on floors. We would never stay again & although the staff was so attentive they can’t do much without proper management and repairs. The area is loud which is expected but not a place we would ever stay again.

The hotel was ok indoors room had a horrible smell when we got in there no other rooms were available. No microwave in the rooms had to keep coming down just to microwave our food it was inconvenient

It’s raining, there’s a storm, I woke up to our room filled with water, everything got wet.

The hotel requires significant improvements. My room had an unpleasant odor, so I had to ventilate it for several hours.

Low key basic hotel with pool. Not the best soundproofing for the rooms but overall decent.

Renovated room was modern and clean. Good sized tv bed and pillows very comfy. Water presure was soso

It rain and our room got flooded. No one came and mopped up the water. Was given only 2 towels had to use the bath towel and wipe the water up ourselves.Did not have a 2 bed room to move us to. So we had to stay in that room. Next day we went out came back in the evening room wasn’t clean all the wet towels were still on the floor.

I enjoyed my stay at the Courtyard Marriott. It is at a perfect location in walking distance to everything needed. Everyone at the hotel was quite friendly and helpful. I booked the ocean front room and the views were great along with pool views. The beach is directly across the street along with plenty of restaurants to choose from. I highly recommend this stay if you are visiting nassau

Great location, good food, comfortable rooms. But the best part is: The staff! Oh my God. They are amazing. Biittany we love you! You are the most amazing person we have met. Clyde you are a gentleman. All kitchen staff, reception staff members. Thank you so much. We definitely back again.

We stayed at the Courtyard in Nassau. Check-in took a really long time since there was only one person working the front desk. When we entered our room, there were already people in there. It was incredibly awkward. When we went down to tell the front desk, the manager seemed to just want to blame the employee who checked us in and did not apologize or take any responsibility for the terrible situation. They really should’ve done something like offered free breakfast or something. The hotel is out of date. As someone who spent a week on the island, I can tell you all buildings are that way downtown. Unless it is a resort. So this is great for this location. And a good price for what you are paying. This hotel does not include breakfast. Breakfast was pricey. And took a really long time for them to make. The beach is across the street. Please note, the button for crossing the street does not work. Just pay attention to when the lights go red and then cross.

Staff treated us as invaders. Very short and didn’t want us there. Didn’t even try to fake it. Security was the only kind encounter and one male cleaner. Most hotels give at least breakfast included. Nothing included and price was over the top. Two pieces of toast with four pieces of sausage was $28…regular breakfast for two $85. The store charges $4 for a can of soda and $2.50 for $50 bag of chips. Taxi ride for one mile is $55 and tip is expected. The are itself is a bad location and separated from shops and places to eat. We had to walk in very dangerous traffic for 20 minutes to get to the first shop. Only thing close for food, that wasn’t in the industrial area, was McDonald’s, which we don’t eat here in the states. You can’t enjoy your trip without constant hounding from locals selling everything from $40 drinks to $30 beach chairs for rent. Non stop harassment. It was overwhelming. And if you don’t buy they get aggressive and angry. Plus we lost two days due to three hour flight delay that rerouted us from Atlanta to NEW YORK overnight. Then Expedia rebooked our stay, after they failed to do so until I called them, and booked it for a day short. So we lost two days. I will highly recommend staying out of Junkanoo, emphasize junk, beach. Paradise island is for tourists, this area for locals. Night and day different treatment on other side. Still has aggressive vendors, which are just locals without regulation. Very disappointed in hotel and location.

Davitta and Kendea went above and beyond to ensure that my check-in was very smooth and seamless. Their greetings were so warm friendly and inviting. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. I will definitely be back!

I liked how close everything was to the hotel. For some reason, never got housekeeping (stayed 4 nights and no one touched the room- had to go up to front desk for more towels and toilet paper). Then there was some confusion with my breakfast that I paid extra for and they said I didn’t. Had to come back down and prove to them I did. They were nice about it and everything but over all just an inconvenience.

It was a great stay. From checking in to checkout out, everyone was friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and the area just felt safe. Will definitely book again.

Michael ar check in was blah and he was okay at check out. If he had better guest service skills I would of been all over a five star. Your bar was so busy one night a soda took 30 minutes. The dog barked next to our room a lot. I’m not a fan of not giving 5 stars but our uninspiring check in made everything the entire trip feel worse. Kindness makes all the not so awesomeness go away. The food prices are very high and hotels just a little bit more expensive are worth a better experience.

Convenient and Downtown

Pros: Walking distance to beach and downtown. Cons: No views. Average hotel.

We liked everything about this hotel. It’s literally across the street from Junkanoo beach. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the fish fry where they have food and drinks, lots of alcoholic drinks. It’s about a 15 minute walk to McDonald’s and other stores. Very convenient and Clyde made our stay exceptional and amazing. Michael was awesome, kind and helpful! I recommend this place!!!

A solid bargain stay, rooms are large and clean, it’s right on the main strip so it’s convenient but noisy in the early morning hours. Outside of that the staff is nice and helpful.

Good location, within easy walking distance of downtown.

The location was central to all things Nassau. The beach, shopping, food, ect. Id recommend the hotel to all visitors to Nassau

We stayed here for 3 days during the New Year. The hotel had some construction equipment on the property, but we didn't see or hear work being done, probably because of the holiday. The staff was wonderful, friendly and helpful. We ate the breakfast once and enjoyed it. We liked the location: right across from Junkanoo beach and within 10 mins walk to the Fish Fry and downtown. Our only complaint was the room doors were constantly slamming, could be because of the age of the hotel? Our room door didn't have the security lock on the inside.

The location is perfect as it is just across Junkanoo beach and walkable to the downtown areas. It’s located in a busy street so it’s kind of noisy with cars passing by all the time.

Pool was nice. Downtown location is very busy. Room was clean and service was good.

The staff was very helpful, couldn’t ask for better. The food menu was limited, but not terrible. I was disappointed in the bar… couldn’t get a margarita because the bar didn’t have tequila! No excuse for that! I’m not sure I would stay here again.

Breakfast buffet 40 dollars to high.

My stay was peaceful and I didn’t experience any major issues. However, one negative moment stood out during my visit to the hotel bar. The bar manager publicly reprimanded the male bartender in front of me and other staff, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. I felt the matter could have been handled privately. As a result, I chose not to return to the bar.

Although the staff was very pleasant, the property is in need of many upgrades. Every time we showered, the water leaked. We had to use every towel available on the bathroom floor. The furniture in the room was old and rusty and the tile was chipped. The pool deck and poolside furniture could definitly use an upgrade too. I wouldn't recommend dining at the hotel restaurant. The food was horrible but the drinks were good.

Liked; across the street from Junkanoo beach Disliked: no room service, no bell person, fake balcony more for pigeons than guest. Breakfast expensive and limited., leaky roof, bad service, never got 2 extra pillows No safety bar in shower or place to put your soap The bed was comfortable

Parking was fine, breakfast was over the top expensive. Staff were so sweet. Not a place to stay if you want peace and quiet.

Average hotel for business only (no more than 2 days).. Avoid breakfast ..is not good and expensive!
