We’ve stayed at many all-inclusive resorts, and Sandals Royal Bahamian was a mixed experience. The included airport transportation was convenient and stress-free. Upon arrival, we checked in early and were encouraged to explore the grounds while waiting for our room, which was nice. However, the beach lounger situation was extremely frustrating. We were told loungers were "first come, first serve," but when we woke up at 6 AM to reserve one, they were already taken. We later discovered the “butler elite” guests had their butlers place old books down the night before, later replacing them with coolers. Despite complaining to concierge, nothing changed. This felt incredibly unfair and unlike any other resort we’ve visited. As for the food, the food trucks were good, and I enjoyed the chicken pesto panini at Calico and the eggs Benedict at the French restaurant. The French fries were consistently good, but most of the food was dry and underwhelming. The beach itself was also smaller than expected, so don’t let the photos fool you. While the staff was friendly, the overall experience did not match the luxury Sandals brand we were promised. For the price, we expected much more, especially in terms of fairness and food quality.

We did enjoy the deep pools, poolside cocktails, beach swimming, spa, seafood and steak, the view, transfer to/from airport and the staff members were friendly, sometimes crossing the line. The property felt like it needed updating. Hot tubs differed in temperatures, the quiet pool was cold and not enough side tables for drinks. Elevator electrical panels were open (West Side), some walls in restaurants needed cleaning, and there was chipped table wear including milk jugs etc. and we got a cracked poolside table. Our room needed a proper clean. Considerable hair on the floor, bathrobe and in the bedding (the bedding was clean). One of the towels had a hole in it. Stains on the kitchen walls and floor. Broken kettle. We had a young cockroach visit the bathroom. Another visit from an insect in a restaurant cooking space. At one restaurant we had to move tables because I was being dripped on and we discovered a large hole in the extractor fan. Other issues included being locked out of my room for 10 minutes because the batteries had failed and identifying a safety issue (raised with management and then immediately delegated) which the staff member failed to rectify so I removed the safety issue from the outside shower. The Butler Service was disappointing. It was rare to get exactly what we ordered without an issue. The pre arrival survey was mostly ignored. Offered a free night with the condition of an NDA and not to post a review. We declined.

You’re on a vacation the moment you arrive at the Sandals airport desk. They take care of your suitcases and receive you with champagne at the hotel. The room was spacious and the dining options were very good. We enjoyed the private island very much.

Our West Bay room smelled damp/musty so we were surprised to read that the resort had been upgraded as recently as 2022 (we heard another couple mention the same smell in their room too). The low-light of the trip was when we got trapped in the elevator - a lift that had been put back in service from a couple of days out of service already. With the cart stuck halfway in-between floors, a maintenance team member attended quickly (kudos) but then forcing the doors open (and having to fight to hold them there as they kept trying to close on us) whilst we had to vault out in what was a very unsafe situation (lucky we are young/fit enough to do so quickly but that is not the point). There is clearly a distinct lack of management processes to account for such customer incidents as there was no follow-up with us to address it even after we later decided to mention it to concierge (who informed management at the time) and despite us supposedly being a "Tender Loving Care" room (our rep had no knowledge of the incident a few nights later when they made first contact on night 7 of 9). We're generally pretty low-profile / low maintenance so don't encourage much attention but this feels like an incident that would be addressed at a high-end resort that values it's guests, especially when we were celebrating our engagement! Unsurprisingly we got our steps in using the stairs up and down to the 4th floor every day after that!

This was our first Sandals vacation and it was a great one. We enjoyed it enough to book another one for Barbados next April while we were there. The food was good for the most part. The seafood restaurant was under renovation while we were there which took over the lunch and dinner buffet unfortunately. Pool chair saving started at the ridiculous times between 5am-6am between the alarm setters and butlers who were first to swipe them with the room coolers. Kind of annoying but as long as we could grab one for our things we enjoyed being in the pool for the most part. Don’t expect a chair at the quiet pool at all unless you have a butler. Music from the dj at the LOUD pool plays the music so loud at times that you can’t have a conversation or just relax let alone be able to communicate with a bar tender at the pool bar so they screw up loads of drinks which really isn’t their fault with how loud they blast the music in these poor bartenders ears. Staff was very nice overall but don’t expect anything in a hurry cause they’re definitely on island time but so were we so life goes on. Their piece of a private island across the way (5 min. boat ride from their own pier) is a good grab for a half day or so with a pool, a calm, clean beach and water and a restaurant with a pool bar and patio bar as well. The lack of children at the resort is worth its weight in gold between all activities and restaurants. That alone is probably worth sticking to the Sandals business model. Book it.

Overall the stay met expectations. The food was average to very good. The main pool was heated, which was a plus because it got chilly at times. The off shore island was beautiful, but due to weather conditions we were diverted to a bus and then a choppy boat ride- took over an hour to get there, and then they closed up early- the last shuttle was listed as 4 pm but they made everyone leave at 3:30. To top it off, there was only one small bus waiting to take us back to the resort- hotel guests were stuck waiting with the rest of the staff who hadn’t grabbed seats on the first bus! When a guest asked a staff member why the island was closing up early he shrugged and said “well sometimes it rains”. It was not raining and did not rain that evening… The hallway carpet in the hotel smelled awful. The rooms were clean. It was noisy due to construction at the resort. Also staff was very loud in the hallways in the mornings.

This was our first time staying at a Sandal's and it will be our last. We had to chase down room service staff multiple times for toilet paper, wash clothes and coffee refills because they would clean the room but not restock it. They never took the dirty towels or glasses when cleaning the room. They should not say they have top self liquor, because they do not !!! If we wanted anything other then the house wine we had to pay $25 a glass at minimum. We could never get a chair at the beach or the pool. Maybe if we wanted to go down at midnight to stake one out we would have some luck. We were told by fellow guest that the only way to get chairs at beach or pool was to have a butler. Sad, we paid $7000 for this trip ...you want me to pay more to get a pool side chair. Rediculous. The beach area is tiny, we made an attempt at their private island. We tried to get a cocktail before we waited for the 3:30 boat back (last one was at 4 pm) we were told the bar closed early because the staff had to take the same boat we did, so everything was closed up. So we went to wati for the boat, when it got there staff got first privledge over all the guests, and we could not get on because that made th boat full. Total BS. We did take advantage of diving each day so we would have something to do. I do have to say the Dive shop employees were amazing. We did enjoy them. Its really sad the way this place is ran. It is NOTHING like what you see in the commercials.

I was really excited for my stay at Sandals Royal Bahamian to celebrate my 20 year anniversary. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the experience I feel I should have had based on what I paid. There are pros and cons to this visit. The Pro’s - the employees are very polite and smiling all the time. Food options are good and better than most all inclusives I have been to. Activities at the fun pool were great and a good time. The Sandals island beach was great with a great setup. Cons - when I arrived I asked at the front desk if I was able to upgrade to an ocean view room and that I understand I would have to pay the difference. The room wasn’t available through Travelocity but sandals customer service said there was a room available and I would have to ask for it at check in. The person checking me in said they would let me know about the room and then never called or got back to me. There was a room that must have had a bad plumbing leak that caused the entire hallway area by our door to be soaked. Every time we came and went from our room it smelt and we had to walk in a saturated carpet. We had dinner at LaPlume and when we arrived the dining area was extremely hot. We asked the server and she said yes it is hot and the AC must not have been working. We were assuming that it would come back on soon but I didn’t. So we had to be in formal clothes (long pants for men) and had sweat dripping down our faces while we ate.

We did enjoy the deep pools, poolside cocktails, beach swimming, spa, seafood and steak, the view, transfer to/from airport and the staff members were friendly, sometimes crossing the line. The property felt like it needed updating. Hot tubs differed in temperatures, the quiet pool was cold and not enough side tables for drinks. Elevator electrical panels were open (West Side), some walls in restaurants needed cleaning, and there was chipped table wear including milk jugs etc. and we got a cracked poolside table. Our room needed a proper clean. Considerable hair on the floor, bathrobe and in the bedding (the bedding was clean). One of the towels had a hole in it. Stains on the kitchen walls and floor. Broken kettle. We had a young cockroach visit the bathroom. Another visit from an insect in a restaurant cooking space. At one restaurant we had to move tables because I was being dripped on and we discovered a large hole in the extractor fan. Other issues included being locked out of my room for 10 minutes because the batteries had failed and identifying a safety issue (raised with management and then immediately delegated) which the staff member failed to rectify so I removed the safety issue from the outside shower. The Butler Service was disappointing. It was rare to get exactly what we ordered without an issue. The pre arrival survey was mostly ignored. Offered a free night with the condition of an NDA and not to post a review. We declined.

We were generally disappointed with our stay. We were given the wrong wrong when we arrived and our room had the names of the wrong guests, housekeeping had left behind their supplies and treats for a different couple were placed on our room. The staff were generally disengaged, we had to wait for service each day at the breakfast buffets, there was a water spill in the restaurant at breakfast and flies around the food. We generally felt like the property was run down and not worth the price, the coffee machines were down throughout our stay. The daily housekeeping was minimal, we did not get towel refills. The exceptions were at the island and certain restaurants. The service and experience at Queen pearl, the hibachi restaurant, steak house (Deshaun was our server), and generally the service on the boat ride and the private island were excellent.

Balls of hair in the carpet, that was never removed after addressing it 3 times. Found cockroaches behind the fridge. Addressed with manager. Nothing was done except spraying the room. Did not provide us with a different room or any accommodation. Told us that him and the director will see us before we leave...never saw them!

Half the staff was unfriendly and condescending. Rooms were unclean. We were wiping the same area in on our counter everyday, came to find out it was roach droppings. Tried to speak with management they wouldn’t speak with us. Head of housekeeping came to speak with us and she was of no help. Basically she blamed us for not telling them sooner. We had to google what it was after the second day. Room was not cleaned on a daily basis. Hotel, pools and restaurants were older and unkept

Positives – great location far enough away from the chaos of Nassau and the cruise ship port. Lovely rooms that were beautifully decorated and ours was fairly recently renovated. Two large pools – one heated and the other less so. Beachfront, plus the option of taking the boat over to their private island. Mini bar included – as long as you can get them to refill it which took a call to reception each day! Negatives – room cleaning was inconsistent. Every day something was forgotten – towels, bathmat, mopping the floors etc or even cleaning our room entirely! Room was on the 6th floor and water pressure was poor - at worst we had the shower on ‘full’ yet we weren’t even getting a dribble of water. The Sandals app is clunky and doesn’t function at all well. We didn’t book a ‘butler’ room and were glad we didn’t. We weren’t enthused with the concept and most definitely didn’t like the two-tier class system it created. The onsite restaurants vary dramatically from awful to great in terms of food quality + service. Sandals sell their all inclusive package as ‘all premium alcohol included’. BUT in several restaurants we were also given a wine list with additional cost and NOT told we could still order from the wines that were included until we asked. Felt like an underhand way to make more money. We were lucky to have a quiet room on the back side of the ‘East Bay’ building. Rooms overlooking the west pool get far more noise from the events + loud music all day.

I was disappointed with my stay at Sandals Royal Bahamian. The staff did not come across as friendly or welcoming, which set the tone for the trip. Restaurant reservations were nearly impossible to get at a reasonable time, leaving us with very limited options. It also felt like unless you booked a butler room, you were treated as a lower priority, which really took away from the overall experience. For the price and reputation, I expected much better service and availability. Oceanfront view was not as advertised. It was more a partial view than oceanfront. Needless to say, we will not be returning to Sandals Royal Bahamian or any other Sandals resorts for that matter. The only shining stars of our trip were the athletic team of Kevin and Alycia. They were awesome!

We were very disappointed in our stay at Sandals Royal Bahamian resort. 1 of the 2 rooms we booked was awful. The air conditioning was leaking the entire time we were there and the shower was only providing scolding hot water. We asked several times for both to be fixed. It took them two days to fix the water issue and they never fixed the air conditioner leak. The day before we left, the scolding hot water was back. So, technically, they never fixed it. We were not provided to move to other rooms or to be upgraded due to our issues or even money back. Additionally, my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and were supposed to have something special done for us in our room. They screwed that up as well by delivering the surprise to the wrong room. That was never rectified either. Based on this, we will likely never stay at another Sandals resort. The only thing good about the stay was the fabulous beaches and water, and the very nice Bahamian people.

My husband and I spent 3 nights here in celebration of my 40th birthday. The grounds were lovely, as was our room. We had a wonderful view of the ocean! I also liked that everything on the resort was easily accessible. The AC unit was great and kept the room cool and comfortable. The mini bar included wine, soda, juice, water and tea/coffee. The bed was spacious and very comfortable. Upon entering our room, we noticed that we were only given 1 washcloth. We made multiple requests to the front desk but didn't receive additional washcloths until the following day. We encountered a few issues with the water in the room.It would shut off during our showers, especially during the morning hours. We also experienced some Wi-Fi connectivity issues which the staff was able to resolve in a day. I also had a small issue securing lounge chairs with umbrellas on the beach. It seemed as though all of the lounges with umbrellas were reserved for the guests with butler service. There should be more lounge chairs with umbrellas available for all guests. One of my favorite features was the food trucks, one of which had fresh cookies daily. I loved the oatmeal raisin ones! Overall, the staff was friendly, the food and drinks were good and we enjoyed our stay.

Our West Bay room smelled damp/musty so we were surprised to read that the resort had been upgraded as recently as 2022 (we heard another couple mention the same smell in their room too). The low-light of the trip was when we got trapped in the elevator - a lift that had been put back in service from a couple of days out of service already. With the cart stuck halfway in-between floors, a maintenance team member attended quickly (kudos) but then forcing the doors open (and having to fight to hold them there as they kept trying to close on us) whilst we had to vault out in what was a very unsafe situation (lucky we are young/fit enough to do so quickly but that is not the point). There is clearly a distinct lack of management processes to account for such customer incidents as there was no follow-up with us to address it even after we later decided to mention it to concierge (who informed management at the time) and despite us supposedly being a "Tender Loving Care" room (our rep had no knowledge of the incident a few nights later when they made first contact on night 7 of 9). We're generally pretty low-profile / low maintenance so don't encourage much attention but this feels like an incident that would be addressed at a high-end resort that values it's guests, especially when we were celebrating our engagement! Unsurprisingly we got our steps in using the stairs up and down to the 4th floor every day after that!

We're generally pretty low-profile / low maintenance so don't encourage much attention but this feels like an incident that would be addressed at a high-end resort that values it's guests, especially when we were celebrating our engagement! Unsurprisingly we got our steps in using the stairs up and down to the 4th floor every day after that!

Positives – great location far enough away from the chaos of Nassau and the cruise ship port. Lovely rooms that were beautifully decorated and ours was fairly recently renovated. Two large pools – one heated and the other less so. Beachfront, plus the option of taking the boat over to their private island. Mini bar included – as long as you can get them to refill it which took a call to reception each day! Negatives – room cleaning was inconsistent. Every day something was forgotten – towels, bathmat, mopping the floors etc or even cleaning our room entirely! Room was on the 6th floor and water pressure was poor - at worst we had the shower on ‘full’ yet we weren’t even getting a dribble of water. The Sandals app is clunky and doesn’t function at all well. We didn’t book a ‘butler’ room and were glad we didn’t. We weren’t enthused with the concept and most definitely didn’t like the two-tier class system it created. The onsite restaurants vary dramatically from awful to great in terms of food quality + service. Sandals sell their all inclusive package as ‘all premium alcohol included’. BUT in several restaurants we were also given a wine list with additional cost and NOT told we could still order from the wines that were included until we asked. Felt like an underhand way to make more money. We were lucky to have a quiet room on the back side of the ‘East Bay’ building. Resort felt like a hotel vs a resort. The beds were very firm. Honestly the hardest bed I ever slept on. We switch rooms to ocean front hoping bed would be softer and it was not. The food was good and the private island was very nice. Shows at nights were lacking. Overall experience was just ok. I wouldn’t return to this property.

While this resort was clean, the transportation to the resort was seamless, the "service" was terrible. I can understand "island time" and I was never in a rush whatsoever, but when it takes 30-45 min for someone to acknowledge and seat you in a half empty restaurant there is a problem. This happened 2 of 3 evenings, and 2 of 3 lunch times. When you ask the concierge face to face for a bottle of white wine for the room and they say not a problem every single time and it never shows up ever, there is an issue. The Beach = was full of seaweed The Entertainment = Was the worst I've ever experienced at a resort. The Service: Was worst I ever experienced at a resort. The Drinks: Were good, and not watered down. So that was a positive. For roughly $1200.00 CAN / Night I expected more from this resort that's for sure. I am glad we were only stuck there for 3 nights and not a week.

I was disappointed with my stay at Sandals Royal Bahamian. The staff did not come across as friendly or welcoming, which set the tone for the trip. Restaurant reservations were nearly impossible to get at a reasonable time, leaving us with very limited options. It also felt like unless you booked a butler room, you were treated as a lower priority, which really took away from the overall experience. For the price and reputation, I expected much better service and availability. Oceanfront view was not as advertised. It was more a partial view than oceanfront. Needless to say, we will not be returning to Sandals Royal Bahamian or any other Sandals resorts for that matter. The only shining stars of our trip were the athletic team of Kevin and Alycia. They were awesome!

We’ve stayed at many all-inclusive resorts, and Sandals Royal Bahamian was a mixed experience. The included airport transportation was convenient and stress-free. Upon arrival, we checked in early and were encouraged to explore the grounds while waiting for our room, which was nice. However, the beach lounger situation was extremely frustrating. We were told loungers were "first come, first serve," but when we woke up at 6 AM to reserve one, they were already taken. We later discovered the “butler elite” guests had their butlers place old books down the night before, later replacing them with coolers. Despite complaining to concierge, nothing changed. This felt incredibly unfair and unlike any other resort we’ve visited. As for the food, the food trucks were good, and I enjoyed the chicken pesto panini at Calico and the eggs Benedict at the French restaurant. Beautiful ocean views . Excellent private island with a short boat ride although it depends on the weather. Staff go above and beyond to make you feel happy. Restaurants in the evening are excellent buffet could have more choice but everything is fresh . Airport transfer is very easy.

Our West Bay room smelled damp/musty so we were surprised to read that the resort had been upgraded as recently as 2022 (we heard another couple mention the same smell in their room too). The low-light of the trip was when we got trapped in the elevator - a lift that had been put back in service from a couple of days out of service already. The location was perfect and the property was beautifully maintained. I imagine that it takes a lot of individuals to successfully coordinate and organize a resort of its size. From the shuttle to and from the airport, the ease of checkin, and perfectly manicured grounds, they made it look seemless. Every staff member exemplified professionalism and went out of their way to answer questions or assist in any way. We sincerely appreciate the care shown to us and wish the resort continued success.

Although it is an all inclusive resort make your reservations for dinner before arrival. We couldnt get into the best places upon arrival due to being booked solid. Room service was non existent for our room even though we was suppose to have it daily. We had to ask staff for towels daily. In a 4 night stay they never came in to even empty our garbage. Also if your not in a butler room get to the pool early because most chairs are reserved for butler room or higher guests. I can say the staff was helpful with directions etc during our stay. Had to call in room dining several times to get them to finally answer the phone and take our orders, then missed dinner items every time. Over all a less than grand adventure that we saved all year to enjoy.

The property is close to the airport and the beach and property itself was nice. The major con of this resort is how it is managed and the customer service. We were only there for 3 nights and could not get reservations at the restaurants The check in process was extremely slow. Service at the restaurants and in general was sub par. As a small example, the water in our room was not restocked and I had to call 4 times before someone brought water. The best run operation at the resort was the food trucks. They were fast, friendly and offered great customer service. Other than the food trucks, service was extremely slow and the staff seemed extremely unhappy.

Always a great place to stay and forget all the stresses of home. Nothing to do but enjoy and relax. Next to the beautiful waters, staff very friendly and professional!! Only caveat if deciding to venture out to nearby areas via taxi, fares very arbitrary. Best to pre-arrange rides.

We are hotel snobs and loved it! Most all inclusives it's tough to get reservations in the "reservation" restaurants. No problem here. And the non-reservation restaurants were equally as outstanding! Top shelf labels...drinks were great! Friendliest staff anywhere! Grounds were beautiful! Hotel room was cold! Room service amazingly fast! The private island was awesome with amazing food of course! Maybe best of all its not packed and overcrowded. Quick access to the bar! Can't say enough. We'll be checking out some other Sandals resorts as we don't generally go to the same country/island twice. Life's short and it's a big planet! Thank you Sandals we love you! Only one suggestion...The paper straws are fine but they don't work well with the frozen drinks. Larger diameter paper straws please. Thank you again!

It says it is but it just as plain as you can get in the states. The music playlist is from the early 2000s and I i think I heard Bob Marley as the only Caribbean music. If you want to do any excursions, better to do it with getyourguide or somewhere else as they upcharge a ridiculous amount. All staff were very helpful and nice.

We’ve stayed at many all-inclusive resorts, and Sandals Royal Bahamian was a mixed experience. The included airport transportation was convenient and stress-free. Upon arrival, we checked in early and were encouraged to explore the grounds while waiting for our room, which was nice. However, the beach lounger situation was extremely frustrating. We were told loungers were "first come, first serve," but when we woke up at 6 AM to reserve one, they were already taken. We later discovered the “butler elite” guests had their butlers place old books down the night before, later replacing them with coolers. Despite complaining to concierge, nothing changed. This felt incredibly unfair and unlike any other resort we’ve visited. As for the food, the food trucks were good, and I enjoyed the chicken pesto panini at Calico and the eggs Benedict at the French restaurant. The French fries were consistently good, but most of the food was dry and underwhelming. The beach itself was also smaller than expected, so don’t let the photos fool you. While the staff was friendly, the overall experience did not match the luxury Sandals brand we were promised. For the price, we expected much more, especially in terms of fairness and food quality.

My wife and I chose Sandals Bahamas to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. Overall, it was a good trip with some clear highlights — but also a few disappointments. The property is close to the airport and the beach and property itself was nice. The major con of this resort is how it is managed and the customer service. We were only there for 3 nights and could not get reservations at the restaurants The check in process was extremely slow. Service at the restaurants and in general was sub par. As a small example, the water in our room was not restocked and I had to call 4 times before someone brought water. The best run operation at the resort was the food trucks. They were fast, friendly and offered great customer service. Other than the food trucks, service was extremely slow and the staff seemed extremely unhappy.

This was our first time staying at a Sandal's and it will be our last. We had to chase down room service staff multiple times for toilet paper, wash clothes and coffee refills because they would clean the room but not restock it. They never took the dirty towels or glasses when cleaning the room. They should not say they have top self liquor, because they do not !!! If we wanted anything other then the house wine we had to pay $25 a glass at minimum. We could never get a chair at the beach or the pool. Maybe if we wanted to go down at midnight to stake one out we would have some luck. We were told by fellow guest that the only way to get chairs at beach or pool was to have a butler. Sad, we paid $7000 for this trip ...you want me to pay more to get a pool side chair. Rediculous. The beach area is tiny, we made an attempt at their private island. We tried to get a cocktail before we waited for the 3:30 boat back (last one was at 4 pm) we were told the bar closed early because the staff had to take the same boat we did, so everything was closed up. So we went to wati for the boat, when it got there staff got first privledge over all the guests, and we could not get on because that made th boat full. Total BS. We did take advantage of diving each day so we would have something to do. I do have to say the Dive shop employees were amazing. We did enjoy them. Its really sad the way this place is ran. It is NOTHING like what you see in the commercials.
