Excellent location in quiet neighborhood just outside the downtown area. Easy and safe street parking. Convenient and affordable to take taxi/rideshares to the downtown area. Beds were comfortable. Rooms were clean and maintained and there are plenty of amenities if you want to use the kitchen and laundry facilities. Great place to stay!!

Set in a quiet suburb of Vancouver, this hotel is somewhere in between an Air B&B and a hotel. Very quiet, never disturbed by other guests. The shared bathroom was just across the hall and never an inconvenience. Much more cost effective than overpriced downtown hotels and only a short Uber ride away. Very easy parking and super comfortable bed. Would stay here again.

Really liked the vibe. Instructions to access laundry conflicted with what I saw: I didn’t see (or had trouble finding) a number pad anywhere to access the laundry room, so I didn’t get any laundry done. Enjoyed my stay!

This accommodation was superb for cleanliness and decor. Our room had a balcony. The technology - lighting and hvac unit and locks - was very high tech. The kitchen was huge with everything you would want to cook a large meal and there was a large dining room table for dining. We walked to a street with restaurants. Parking is on the street but we had a spot easily. The bathroom was very large amazingly updated and clean and there was no one next door so we didn't have to share.

It was extremely easy to check in, the place was quiet and comfortable. The carpets held a smell, the room was not cleaned well before our check-in. There were a half opened can of Pringles on our welcome tray, a bottle of vitamin d under our bed and the tv stand was so dusty we wrote "clean" with our finger

I am going to preface it by saying this should be 4.5 stars. The half star deduction is because there was no hot water on my first day and although it was rectified, I had to take a cold shower as I could not wait 30 minutes because I was in a time crunch. It was quite proximal to a bus station and Vancouver does have a robust public transport system. It was close to a park and you should try St Germain bakery which is close. The Pros- dimmer and motion controllled lights. The attention to detail with labeling everything. The gas stove. The decor. The responsiveness. Cons- no hot water one time, the lights werent bright enough in the room when needed. There were some cobwebs I noticed. The quiet time was a bit weird. I wasn't sure if making breakfast during that time qualified as inappropriate. In conclusion, this was a fantastic stay!

This place was absolutely perfect. The room was wonderful, the bathrooms were sparkling clean, the kitchen was great, the house was so cute, and the stay was incredible. Everyone should stay here for an experience that was above and beyond and for such a good price!

This is a renovated house in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. We arrived late and were confused about entering the property, but the owner was very kind and helpful even at that late hour. The room is small but well appointed and the bed was VERY comfortable. The common kitchen and living area was beautiful and nicely updated. We got to visit with some other patrons. Only negative was the shared bathroom but we made it work. I would highly recommend this property.

Great place!! Our room, as well as the common areas, were elegantly appointed and comfortable. Quiet, family friendly area. Lots of street parking. I didn’t have access to email before arriving so I missed the note about check in/out procedures. But the staff was very accommodating via Ring doorbell and text (once I was able to log into their wifi). It’s very simple, really.

We didn't book a place to stay for the night as we planned to just head straight home after our appointments' done. Unfortunately, we were not able to tie things up, so we ended up frantically looking for an affordable yet safe and comfortable place to stay. It was a last minute booking! Thankfully Charlo of Neocolonial Nouveau Kensington has been nothing but amazing. He was very understanding and accomodated our requests. It was a very pleasant experience for us and we would definitely be back on our next Vancouver visits! Highly recommended!

I am so thrilled with my stay at this beautiful guesthouse! I really appreciated the clear instructions/guide that was provided by the host, as I was a little bit nervous checking in and entering the property so late in the evening - but it was a very straightforward and simple process. The area was very quiet and peaceful, with a coffee shop and some restaurants/shops within a 15 minute walk. The house itself was beautifully decorated and maintained, and my room was clean and comfortable beyond my expectations. The ac unit was also easy to operate and worked like a dream! Bathroom was clean, well-stocked with amenities, and the ceiling shower was top-notch. If you are the type of traveller who is comfortable with sharing common spaces with other guests, this is the stay for you. I couldn’t imagine finding a better value and quality of accommodations within such a reasonable price point in Vancouver. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will be sure to return the next time I’m in the city. Thank you!

This was a great choice for staying in Vancouver. The facilities were clean and well maintained and everything was always full and topped up. The walls are a little thin which allows sound to travel easily so I do strongly suggest traveling with ear plugs or a white noise machine. Fairly close to public transit and about a $25 Uber from downtown depending on time of day. Walkable to grocery stores and a few shops which also take you along a road with a wonderful view of the mountains.

A lovely house in a beautiful part of Vancouver. For the money you pay to stay there it's a steal. Very quiet and perfectly safe area to be in. Short walk to stores and restaurants. King Edward station for city and airport around 1.5 miles, which I was happy to walk to. Can get 25 bus if you don't fancy it. A lovely house in a beautiful part of Vancouver. For the money you pay to stay there it's a steal. Very quiet and perfectly safe area to be in. Short walk to stores and restaurants. King Edward station for city and airport around 1.5 miles, which I was happy to walk to. Can get 25 bus if you don't fancy it. I must admit, I tend to take 5-star reviews, especially when there are hundreds of them, with a grain of salt. However, Neocolonial Nouveau Kensington truly turned out to be a wonderful place to stay and deserves all the praise highlighted in its numerous reviews! It's located in Kensington-Cedar Cottage (East Vancouver), which feels like a midtown area—just a short trip to downtown, less than 30 minutes by bus—yet the neighborhood itself is quiet, serene, and incredibly well-kept, almost like a little toy town! You will need to walk quite a bit or use public transportation. The nearest café is about a 20-25 minute walk away. But the tranquility here is unmatched! My room's windows faced the backyard, offering peace and beauty. The guest house itself is beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you need for daily life! The kitchen has all types of dishes, appliances, a full-size fridge, and an oven with a stove. Everything is well thought out, right down to zip-lock bags of various sizes. I stayed in the Royal Room, on the first floor. I shared the bathroom and kitchen/dining area with another guest, but during my 5-day stay, I barely saw or heard them. I must specifically mention the impeccable cleanliness of the bathroom and kitchen. It seems like they are cleaned multiple times a day. If I visit Vancouver again, it will definitely be to Neocolonial Nouveau Kensington! It couldn't be better! Thank you to the hosts for their hospitality and comfort!

Everything was thought of, from the kitchen supplies to the laundry. Bed was super comfortable, hosts were friendly and decor was gorgeous. Only downside was having to carry my suitcase up stairs but that's my fault for over packing!

Our stay was excellent. The hygiene products smelled amazing. We used the kitchen for breakfast daily. I was super impressed by the organization of every room. The host was super helpful and quick to respond. I will definitely be booking here again.

The property was comfortable and clean. The decor was nicely done, and the bathroom and kitchen were well appointed. I'm generally not a fan of sharing a bathroom, but it was only with one other room and never caused any issues. The location is a nice, quiet neighborhood. The main negative is that it isn't located particularly close to anything, and taxi fare in Vancouver isn't particularly cheap. There are shops and restaurants about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile away in several directions. There seemed to be plenty of availability for on street parking, so this is a great place to bring a car.

This accommodation was superb for cleanliness and decor. Our room had a balcony. The technology - lighting and hvac unit and locks - was very high tech. The kitchen was huge with everything you would want to cook a large meal and there was a large dining room table for dining. We walked to a street with restaurants. Parking is on the street but we had a spot easily. The bathroom was very large amazingly updated and clean and there was no one next door so we didn't have to share.
