Homewood Suites by Hilton Calgary Downtown

The pool was closed and I was not told until I checked in and I feel a discount should be given, especially because I choose to stay there, based on the amenities. (Pool to be more specific)

Nice , LARGE room. Comfortable bed. Great shower. Full kitchen. Nice pool with a hot tub. Housekeeping was a bit inconsistent. Only did the room every second day, got abath mat the first day, but not the third day. Had to make a list of coffee and extras every second day.

Great location, close to the bow river and a superstore over the road Downside was lots and I mean lots of homeless people, however they did not bother me or anyone I saw. Pool was clean, but chlorine was super strong and caused my kids to get a rash on their body. Breakfast was good, not a great deal of choice, but was nice. Shame you had to pay extra if you wanted a latte or expresso etc Beds were comfortable and facilities were great in the suite and great for cooking to keep the cost down of eating out. Staff were friendly and helpful. Gym was great, hot in there with no AC

Great property! Breakfast in the morning, underground parking, pool and hot tub. Stayed and walked to a concert at the Saddledome, very convenient.

Nice property. Great team on the front desk. Easy walk to sights, shops, dining etc. Could probably do more to recycle. One major negative was the carpark was filthy. They were cleaning it and when they'd finished it looked just as dirty. It was difficult to breath because of the dust. The wheels on the suitcases were filthy which meant the back of our new SUV was so dirty. So too the footwells and the car itself looked like it had been in storage for about ten years somewhere in the Mojave desert. They comped us one night parking but I really think parking should have been complimentary because of the filthy state of the carpark.

Staff were great, spacious modern room with large screen TV. Pool and exercise room were great for a hotel. Breakfast included well worth it. located right downtown with grocery and liquor store across the st. Underground parking, always had a spot available.

Great service! Amaing amenities! Pool, hot tub and gym where all very clean and continental breakfast was fantastic. Staff was professional, and accommodating. Would definitely go back.

Loved staying at this property. Would stay again. Loved the rooftop patio. Rooms were clean and quiet. At first our AC was not working but they fixed it quickly. Location is great, close to the Saddledome. However, lots of house less people around the area. But they generally keep to themselves. Lots of security/cops around. Would 1000000% stay again

I chose that hotel for the amenities but when I checked in, pool wasn’t working.

Location was convenient to the downtown area with all major amenities close by including a Superstore, Shoppers, and Winners a block away. Hotel was clean a comfortable but service was not great. They barely pick up the phone when calling the front desk. We tried about 12 times within 12 hours and no one picked up. The body lotion bottle was completely empty when we checked in and the facial tissue box was pretty much empty as well. Hot tub in the pool area was barely warm which sucked.

Das Hotel an sich war sehr gut, allerdings hat die Sauberkeit mich nicht zu 100 Prozent überzeugt. In meinem zimmer befanden sich riesige Spinnenweben an der Zimmerdecke. Zudem wurde während meines Aufenhaltes mein Zimmer nicht gereinigt.

The room is nice (view) and spacious and the staffs who welcomed us were very accommodating, but during our stay there were small things/errors like a dirty disposable spoon left in the room when we first arrived, the ceiling fan and room was kind of dusty, but my family had a good time during our stay.

We found dirty underwear on the floor by the bed left in our room from the previous people who stayed in the room.

This was our first time staying at this family style hotel. The hotel room layout is nice and comfortable despite the room not being very clean and lack of toiletries. 1 small bottle of shampoo and body wash for 5 guests. The fold-out bed is horrible… I understand that most beds of this format are springy, but this was not able to be slept on. We slept on the floor instead. The breakfast was very disappointing as there was no seating for both days stay. We went 1 hour before closing time and there was no food. The selection was subpar; I don’t understand why there was a Mexican style breakfast for 2 days in a row. There also were no condiments like ketchup or even salt and pepper available. And for a family friendly facility there was lack of selection for kids to eat. The pool was also not very clean; there were specks of larger debris and stringy things in the water. Overall, it was disappointing for a downtown stay. I would say stay here if there is a deal of some kind for the rate.

Area is sketchy, hotel is okay, room had hairs that weren’t cleaned up. Cleaners quickly addressed it

The room was not the cleanest I've seen. Housekeeping needs to step it up a bit. We were on the 8th floor and the water in the room was cold. Cold showers ruined the experience. When I talked to the front desk girl, she told me to run the sink until the water got hot. I had already tried that for a good 10 minutes. Water NEVER got warm even. The included breakfast was good. The location of the hotel is convenient but the area is swarming with homeless people all day.

dirty wash cloth in the shower. food on the floor, and random wet patches on the carpet. who knows what that was?

Insufficient space for breakfast , public washrooms not clean and paper towels boxes mostly empty. Over charged $ on pre- booking amounts.

Great service. Our kids enjoyed the pool, I enjoyed the jacuzzi. The daily breakfast was so helpful for us. The only thing I'd advice anyone staying there and cooking is wash the utensiles, plates, pots, etc. We did not find them as clean as we like them to be. Other than that, our experiences there was great. The location is very convenient, near a Superstore, there's a homeless shelter close by so that might surprise some people, but the area is very nice to walk along the river.

The room was gorgeous although light pollution was awful from the surrounding buildings. The tram is outside and all day and night the sound from the crossing was loud, especially at night. I recommend earplugs and eyemask. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast is included but poor. Turkey sausage awful. No bacon. Hot was was lukewarm at best. Staff were lovely and food in the bar was great. Tim Hortons next door. Walk to lots of places. Studio Bell 3 mins. Calgary tower 12 mins.

The room & view was impressive, I belive I upgraded this and it was worth it. Mattress, bedsheets & pillows - notably fantastic. So much so that this many days after and I can still remember them. I've thought about buying the same for my house. Breakfast eating area was a little tight, but ok. I actually thought I would be worried about the car surface parking safety. I was pleasantly surprised coming late at night. Bit of stigma for the area, but it was bright, people still out, and no homeless loitering. To me area safety would outstrip even the best inside experience. In the morning we rented scooters and went from Sidewalk Citizen for a coffee all the way down to the Peace bridge. Blew me away that Eau Claire is gone. Fascinated by the flood mitigation landscaping. Next time, I'm booking same hotel. My new go-to.

Room was roomy and comfortable, although kitchen supplies were a little limited. We faced onto the train line, which did get noisy at times, so if you are a light sleeper you might request a room on the further side.

The room layout was decent and the bed was fine, but that's really all I can say thats good about this hotel. My room was situated right above the train track. It was loud and constantly shaking the building. Getting into the shower was awkward, as well, because the half of the shower with the knob was covered with a panel of unmovable glass. Turning it on meant getting sprayed by cold water. Lastly, the breakfast was pretty bad Every day there were no clean glasses for water or huice. The food was just not good. Ive had plenty of hotel breakfasts before, but this was the worst. If be hard pressed to return to this hotel.

Hotel was decent. Website says room service but there was no room service. Pillows sucked and were super flimsy. Pull out couch was very uncomfortable according to my son.

Staff courteous but had to change rooms due to malfunction in bathroom. New room had a malfunctioning hvac.

Nice room! Great bed, with comfy pillows. I enjoyed the shower it was very warm and was nice and relaxing. It was great to have the kitchen amenities for comfort of eating in our room.

We had our hotel reservation for 6 months, but upon checkin it was lost in the system; they didn’t have it. The front desk worked to make it right in their inventory, and sent us to a lovely room, it was just a frustrating process. Shower was nice, beds were comfortable, hallways were quiet, and everything was in working order.

They tried to tell me that they didn’t have one more room left, multiple people waiting in the lobby for their rooms…….horrible service

This has been a thoroughly unpleasant hotel experience. I want to start by emphasizing this is not on the staff, but a lack of resources and contingency plans from the company. Our stay started with an hour-long check-in. The computers wouldn't load in either the Homewood or Hilton lobbies, leaving the staff helpless since they couldn't check records or make room keys. This severely cut into our rest time prior to an event. It took speaking to a manager and troubleshooting solutions to get us into a clean room. The room was immaculately clean, but the water from the taps took forever to warm up, and there was a significant crack in the sink. We soon found out that night that the soundproofing was also terrible. The LRT is right outside the room, running every 10 minutes. The wall the bed was against was terribly thin and we got to listen to a woman thoroughly enjoy herself all night long. Add to that, the toilet activated every time someone on the floor above flushed theirs. In the mornings, the complimentary breakfast was terrible. I can best describe the scrambled eggs taste as hot dog water. The sausage was horribly dry and tough. On our second night we went to the pool, which was nice enough. But on returning to our room, the key refused to let us in despite activating the elevator. So we had to return to the main lobby, dripping wet, to get a new one made. We will not be staying there again.

Everything was great from the moment we checked in at 1 in the morning- the only issue we had was the rude employee who was refilling the food during breakfast - i asked them if there were anymore bagels and he didn't even answer me - he just pointed at the last bagel in the container

Property was clean and staff was friendly. A/C wouldn't turn off no matter what we tried. Also tried calling the front desk 3 separate ways on 2 separate days and they never once answered. I tried with my cell phone, the room phone and phone next to elevator. The area felt unsafe with a lot of homeless all around the building.

It was what we expected from Hilton hotels. Staff was very attentive and friendly.

I did not have the best experience checking in. I shared my experience with the hotel supervisor, and Nelson was absolutely fantastic. He took time to understand the situation and offered solutions to make my stay better. He also referred me to speak with the hotel manager, Noel, who also was willing to help make the remainder of my stay a better experience. I was impressed with both of them as they went above and beyond to make things right. Their efforts convinced me to consider booking Hilton again in the future. Unfortunately the location of this hotel is near a shelter in downtown Calgary. It felt unsafe to be outside, as there were people from the shelter around the area.

Everything was going well during our stay, but unfortunately our experience was ruined at the very end. We came back to the hotel to pick up our luggage and change into more comfortable clothes before heading to the airport. While I was waiting for my girlfriend, the security guard approached me in a very rude and disrespectful manner, questioning what I was doing there and implying that I shouldn’t be on the premises. I explained politely that I was just waiting for my partner and that we would be leaving in a few minutes, but his attitude remained aggressive and inappropriate. This kind of treatment was completely unnecessary and left us with a very negative final impression of the hotel. It’s a shame that a single interaction could overshadow an otherwise decent stay. I hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously and provides better training for their staff, especially those in security, to treat guests with basic courtesy and respect.

Great location downtown. Close to full grocery/drug/liquor store. Right on light rail line. Easy walk to Saddledome, Stampede and other sites

It’s a new hotel, so the room is good. Our room had a drainage problem with the bath tub, and the staff was quick to fix it ( they offered to change our room, but we turned it down since it was late). The verification of the room could have been done better to avoid this inconvenience). The free breakfast was not that great and on the day that we had to have early breakfast to go to our tour, breakfast was almost 30 minutes later than the stated start time of 6 AM. We also didn’t know that this part of Calgary was very close to homeless shelters, and despite the heavy presence of peace officers and police, some of the homeless people were aggressive, so we didn’t feel very safe. Overall it’s a decent facility, but we probably will not come back again.

Very nice hotel, staff were excellent. Heater/Air conditioner woke me up every time it kicked on, about 10 times throughout the night. Lots of fentanyl zombies around the area of the hotel. Not in their control just an FYI it’s sad to see.

I really liked and enjoyed at stay at the property - it’s clean, very good located, spacious, good breakfast. Staff is very friendly and friendly. Overall I’m under a very good impression and would definitely recommend this hotel. The only thing that I didn’t liked is the area around, it’s quite dirty, but it’s not the hotels fault.

The staff were all very professional and friendly. The property offered everything. We were there with 2 of our grandkids to go to the Calgary Flames game. Excellent location. Very good experience.

This hotels breakfast was top-notch, especially for a weekend. They had scrambled eggs with green onions, triangle shaped hashbrowns, sausage, toast, cereal and oatmeal. They had pulled pork and a station to make your own breakfast tacos in addition to banana bread, chocolate cake, pastries, fruit, yogurt, coffee, milk, apple & orange juices.

Overall, our stay was just okay. The room was mostly clean, but we did find some hairs in the shower upon arrival, which was disappointing. The biggest issue was with the shower itself—getting hot water took 15–20 minutes, and even then, the water pressure was so low it made it difficult to rinse out shampoo. A hotel shower should be a relaxing experience, but unfortunately, this wasn’t the case. The complimentary breakfast offered a decent selection of the basics, but it became repetitive over the course of our stay. Additionally, the setup each morning was slow, and many items would run out and need to be requested to be restocked. While there were some positives, I likely wouldn’t choose to stay here again if I return to Calgary.

In the middle of the city. No car required. Good public transport. Rooms were clean and a good size. The buffet breakfast available with room purchase was poor. Minmal choice available. What was available wasnt very good. The breakfast room was located in the entrance of the hotel, the proper restaurant dining area was reserved for guests who paid extra for breakfast. It felt vey them and us. Overall however we had a good stay.
