The Stockton Arms

We were moved here unexpectedly after another booking was cancelled without notice (grr). However we were happy to end up here, and a very friendly lady checked us in. The room (no. 3) was spacious, clean, and had a nice comfy bed. Decor was slightly quirky but had its own feel. It was very VERY quiet when we returned to the accommodation at 11pm (pub next door shuts at 10.30pm) and we had a good night's sleep. Negatives a) the curtains would benefit from having a black-out blind underneath as a lot of light came in, and b) the "free breakfast" comprises a box containing a Quaker porridge pot, a cereal bar, a muffin and a carton of orange juice. So it's pretty basic but would get you going in a pinch. We couldn't work the shower because the ceiling switch had been turned off, so top tip - look UP and you will find it. However when we rang the contact number at 8am, it was answered instantly and we were given the necessary guidance and got our showers. Would recommend if you are looking for quiet stay in residential area. Stockton town centre is a bus ride away,

Very comfortable

we understood on booking that water bottle was supplied in the room and breakfast available. Neither of these evident on check in. only for a call to the guest from ourselves to ensure they were ok was this issue identified.

Location was convenient for me but the room could have been cleaner.
