Great location. Nice room. Comfy bed. The Pierside offers a great location hotel, right on the Santa Monica Pier. The only parking option onsite is valet parking for an extortionate $68 per night (we used the multistory over the road for $20 per day). The hotel room was nice enough, good bed, comfortable, good amount of space. Let down a little by towels that had seen their day (dirty marks, felt old), and the air-con in the room was super loud. Don’t let that put you off staying, on the whole it was a great hotel for our short stay. The restaurant (The Surfing Fox) has some incredible food, would definitely recommend!

Disappointing stay, except for the location which is steps away from shopping and the pier/beach. The pool and fitness room are tiny and lodged next to the freeway, very unappealing and absolutely ridiculous to charge a resort fee for the use of the communal space of this property. In addition, there is a $50 early checkin fee before 4pm. Rooms lack amenities such as lotion and shower was stained with mildew. overcharged at checkout

Great hotel! Pros: conveniently located, literally across the street from the Pier. You could also borrow tons of things from the front desk (chairs, umbrellas, books, games, record player and records!) Cons: parking on the property was pricey but there’s a lot on the opposite corner; the pool heater was broken :(

Amazing stay! Perfect location, nice staff. What they can do better: put a multi machine on Gym area, fix A/C from Gym, put a shower at the Pool, have better options for breakfast at the restaurant. Overall it's amazing!

The Pierside is uniquely situated right in front of the Santa Monica Pier! I visited during peak tourist season so not surprisingly it took a long to drive in at check-in, get out at checkout. Not a big deal, just be prepared! The hotel itself is brand new, and has a unique beach vibe with boogie board and beach chairs to borrow, and gorgeous lounge areas and bar/restaurants. I loved the layout of my room, it was super cute and well appointed. The bed was very comfy and I got a luscious nights rest. The couch faced out towards the water and made for good people watching. You really feel like you’re at the boardwalk when staying here. I took the free hour offered on the e-bike and cruised the beach, which turned out to be a major highlight! There are two things listed on here that are not true- The rooms are not at all sound proofed as mentioned. In fact you can hear EVERYTHING from all sides. When calling the front desk about it the manager was a seemingly unhappy human. He didn’t care at all, didn’t even pretend to. So that knocks a star off in my book for this price point! Fortunately I travel with a sound machine and ear plugs, both necessary for a good slumber if you get the second floor room like I did. The staff are awesome! Special shout out to Gabby for such a warm, helpful visit experience, and all the valet crew and other desk staff. I’ll probably return again someday, but I’ll make sure to pay extra and land one of the king rooms on the top floor!

Excellent location right near the Pier. Plenty of restaurants, shops and walking opportunities nearby. Wouldn’t recommend staying out after dark but that is no fault of the hotel. Rooms were lovely and clean and staff were helpful.

Great location close to the pier, but the hotel itself is so-so. Our room wasn't very clean, both the bathtub and the floor were pretty dirty. Bummer there was no patio, no way to open windows. The people were pleasant and the service was good.

There's pros and cons at every property I guess. The day we checked in it seemed that the complimentary soaps and such weren't being filled up. We went through our entire stay trying to see if someone would refill it and nobody refilled it or asked if we needed anything. I feel as there is also false advertisement because those beds are not queen beds. They are fulls and the pillows are extremely flat and uncomfortable. The floors were also a bit dusty/dirty. The plumbing also seemed a bit strange, the bathtub leaked and the toilet wouldn't flush completely. I feel as if you are going to be paying a large amount of money to stay at this property parking should also be included or at least a more reasonable fee. $65 parking per day is very steep. Again, the overall stay wasn't terrible. Overall it wasn't terrible, there's also a lot of things that are walking distance so that is convenient. Sadly during the lateish hours/early morning there is a lot of homeless and trash outside so beware. No hate to the staff, they were very friendly but somethings do need a bit more attention to detail.

The location is fantastic. The hotel is beautiful but a little worn down. Not sure if it matters what room you get Butt because of its location it’s very noisy at night. At least our city view room was.. the restaurant in the hotel was great and had a fantastic dessert and drink selection.

The hotel is in a convenient location and very walkable. The property looks like it has been renovated, and the decor choices look great. Lobby is nice. Staff were friendly. The property does have lingering issues of an older building: Bathroom was small, toilet was weak, the lights went out while my daughter was in the shower. Our room had a pull out bed but no bedding. We did not visit the on site restaurant.

The location was great for walking to the pier and shopping. The room was really wonderful, however, my "room with a view" was only of the highway which was a bummer. The first morning I woke up to only decaf coffee pods (also the coffee machine placement in the room is a little awkward) so I had to go to the front desk to grab regular coffee. Another miss was the pull out bed had no sheets on it nor was there any in the room. My son and I found this out late at night when I was already in bed so we decided to leave it as is and he'd take the couch using a robe as a blanket. They only had one working elevator that weekend which caused delays but nothing they could do at the time. The restaurant was decent. I would stay here again and hope the attention to detail improves next time.

Absolutely beautiful room! Parking was very expensive. They forgot my fruit platter I had ordered. I had asked for a room with a view and received a message from them saying I would get one….I don’t think McDonalds constitutes as a view. Other than that we had an amazing time.

Whilst the interior of the room was lovely, there was a large gap around the bedroom door which let in a lot of light from the corridor. On querying this at reception we were told nothing could be done about it and many of the bedroom doors had gaps as it was the nature of the building. It is an expensive place to stay with a good location therefore it was really disappointing to have the good aspects completely negated by an ill fitting door. If you like a dark room for sleeping this is not the hotel for you.

Enjoyed our stay but gave only a four star due to the intermittent internet access. I noted this has been mentioned by many other guests. Not sure why management is not correcting this annoying loss of service or inability to log on. Surely in California there has to be computer people to solve this issue. Everyone wants consistent wifi these days. Otherwise we found the hotel clean, staff friendly and the pool was heated and clean. Yes there is traffic noise but it didn't bother us.

Love how close to the pier you are! The plumbing could use some improvement, and same with the wifi. Its marked as soundproof , but it definitely is not. We unknowingly bothered our neighbors with our TV sound and got a conolaint. If i knew it wasnt soundproof id have been more mindful

From the minute we were greeted by the valet everything was amazing. The staff, the room, the restaurant.. everything was perfect. The hotel is beautiful. Staff were beyond friendly and the room was great! Definitely recommend and will stay here next time I’m in town. It’s right next to the pier and about a 2 minute walk to amazing shopping. 2 minute walk to the beach and around the corner from amazing restaurants. Literally a perfect stay

nice hotel. when we first arrive nice man on the front desk said that if we need late checkout just ask him. we had two rooms. needed checkout till three oclock. then later we asked and one man with bad mood said that its no possiblity. iif you pay 50€ pet hour you can have. later one lady told that you can stay one more hour. next time we dont go to this hotel, dont like if receptionists are rude.

Probably one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. Definitely not worth the price. Amenities in the room very limited - no iron, no cupboards etc. I also tried to order room service one morning and no one was answering in dining. When I called the front desk they literally said "not my problem sorry". So I had to walk down to order room service (which kinda defeats the point), to which I waited 10 mins to be served because they only had one worker on in a busy breakfast period. One person who had to serve and cook. Ridiculous. Would not recommend this place

Hotel is very nice, right on Santa Monica pier. Now, the downside is parking is very expensive ($70 with tax) and area around the hotel is filled with homeless people, dont go to McDonalds in front of the hotel, you'll probably run into issues with the homeless and addicts, it stinks and their food sucks.

Lovely hotel! Very close to the pier, beach, and shopping center. Seems to be the closest hotel to the pier, the room is very spacious and well furnished. Staff is wonderful, they also let you take chairs, towels, and blankets to the beach even on your check out day. I stayed one night and enjoyed the shopping center my first day, my second day even after checking out they let me take the chairs and towels to the beach and held my luggage. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a nice hotel in a fun spot of Santa Monica!

Really nice hotel in a perfect location near to the Santa Monica pier. There were only two things we found we didn’t like about this property. 1. The hotels restaurant/lounge/breakfast room had really slow service and the food we had there was not good… at all. 2. all the extras they tacked on to the price: mandatory valet parking at $65 per day, resort fees, and a couple other fees we’ve never seen before.

I was looking forward to staying at The Pierside because I really like Santa Monica. I used to stay there a lot and have stayed at a few hotels. But I was pleasantly surprised that The Pierside is now my favorite. The location is great - just 1 block to the Santa Monica Pier. Easy access to the 10 to get in and out quickly. But the Hotel Bar/Restaurant was delicious, innovative (try The Lemongrass cocktail) and affordable. Furthermore my room (mind you I was upgraded to a slight view of the ocean) was comfortable cozy and functional. I'm sorry I didnt get to spend more time there.

Had an excellent stay at this hotel. The restaurant was very good. All staff was very nice. My room was clean and I loved the surf vibe. I was on the side next to the road and the windows kept it very quiet. The location is literally right next to the pier and ocean. Awesome place. Bonus points for carry high quality spring water and Poppi soda!
