The hotel shuttle was horrible. Upon arrival it took us 3 hours to get to the hotel bc they dropped off at other hotels. It should have taken 30 min max. We booked a private return upon departure. The elevator was broken in our building the entire stay. The front desk tried to move us but there was not an equivalent room available. The resort is massive. Be prepared to walk A LOT. the pool area was very nice tho i found some staff were not as friendly as others. Some were great. The resort grounds were beautiful but the maintenance on the buildings was lacking and trash items were not picked up quickly. (Empty wine bottle sat near stairs for 2 days). For the food, restaurant for dinner were excellent. Service was outstanding. The buffets were no where near as good. Food was absolutely cold every time we ate. The selection was ok. Breakfast served a lot of traditional food but unless you ordered from specialty area. It was cold. Our room was nice, kept clean, stocked. View was amazing. Space was also good. The hotel is doing some construction so hopefully some of the other issues get fixed too.

Hotel muito cheio. Não tinha nenhuma cadeira vaga em todas piscinas ou área de praia. A maioria reservada para clientes vip. Para quem reservou sem ser vip e pagou apenas US$1.200 dólares a diária, não sobra nenhum espaço após as 07:00 da manhã. Com certeza não vale a pena, e não voltaria.

Even though the resort itself was built in 1971, it was well-maintained and super clean. The beach was small but private with beautiful white sand and calm, blue water. The pools were fun and the water park was amazing!

The hallways during each night were very noisy. No staff was around to remind people to quiet down in the middle of the night. Frustrating. Also, before 8am, every poolside and beach chair had been claimed by towels. At other resorts, after one hour of no one showing up, towels were removed from chairs. Staff everywhere were exceeding friendly and helpful.

Excellent property for kids! Beaches are clean and safe. The coves kept out large waves so kids could still play & snorkel. Only frustration was the long lines to make reservations for every thing—restaurants, activities & beach chairs fill up very quickly!

Hade vi betalat halva vårt pris för vår vecka som vi vistades på hotellet hade de varit ganska bra. Men baserat på vad vi inte hörde för pengarna. Resturangerna va mediokra och faciliteterna hade passerat sitt bäst före datum. Rummen lukta både fukt och mögel. Enda som var bra va att de fanns mycket att göra för barn och att servicen var bra.

I had a great time at your facility, except when I walk into my room, I could smell the mold and my clothes end up getting mold on them while I was there and the other thing I did not like your excursion planner cause I did cancel with them and they still charge me so I’m having a huge problem with that situation so I will never visit your facility ever again because of that situation

This resort is overall poorly maintained. Our room was the grand sky terrace with 2 bedrooms. We have a baby and a stroller, the elevator was closed. No problem, they moved us, the next room had no air conditioning, and the glass railing on the 4th floor balcony was broken. Wow. Moved us to a third room, this room was ok, except the door stop was missing, and the screw remained which I stepped on puncturing my foot. That is just the rooms, there is dozens of spots through the resort that are in a state of disrepair. My 7 daughter left a ring we had bought for her at the jewellery store on the table at the buffet. We went back within minutes and it was gone. Fairly positive the waiter pocketed it. I asked him to empty his pockets and he wouldn’t. The place was dirty and germ ridden. We all got food poisoning and my youngest daughter got hand foot and mouth disease. This is not a 5 star resort as advertised. It’s barely a 3. Not a good impression, not happy with value for money, and over all very disappointing. Will not be returning.

The room smelled musty and moly, chipped paint all over our terrace balcony, curling in bathroom was all cut open. We had to wait in line to make reservations everyday, not something someone wants to do on vacation. You had restaurants closed on certain days and your front desk staff is rude and unaccommodating. Worse resort I have ever been to will never come back nor will I ever recommend.

After reading a few bad reviews I was a bit worried about the room conditions. But our room was great. AC worked really well and everything was clean and spotless. They are doing a lot of renovations and updating but you literally are never bothered by it. Staff are really great. And management takes guest safety very seriously. Zero tolerance for unsafe behaviour. We had an amazing time.

Las habitaciones están ya un poco viejas y la limpieza deja mucho que desear. La primera vez que entramos habían uñas en la bañera y el inodoro tenía caca sin limpiar. No nos lo podíamos creer un hotel con ese precio y el mal servicio que nos daban. Mala comunicación para la cena de Navidad, que casi nos quedamos sin cena porque era con reserva a parte y tuvimos que pagar una botella por cara para que nos dieran mesa en un todo incluido… Y otro sin fin de problemas, que en un todo incluido de esa categoría no debería pasar. No obstante, el servicio de animación, la comida y la bebida, si estaban a la altura. A pesar de todos los problemas, finalmente lo pasamos bien.

Rented two rooms side by side and they were both hot. One the floor in one room was humid from the warmth of the room and humidity. We called 4 times to have fixed we were there 4 days. Pool area had no towels at 4 pm. Once towels were out they out. Buffet food was soggy and cold. Not impressed. Been at less expensive hotels with 100% better everything. Will be disputing some $ back. It's crazy that they didn't even offer another room. Also did escape room. Zero air condition in there. Not fun.

The beach was nice, we were able to snorkel and see a lot of fish. The lagoon made it easy for kids to swim with no waves or rocks. The pool was nice as well. The music was fun along with the foam party. The buffet was not great. Not many dinner options unless you want the buffet. Zen was amazing so we did enjoy that. The room was pretty small and the elevator was not in service the entire time we were there. You can tell this property use to be really neat but it is showing its age. The shows were really good especially the Michael Jackson show. My kids loved it but me and my husband were a bit disappointed probably because it just seemed a little old and outdated.

The Hard Rock Riviera Maya is the best place my family has ever vacationed at. If we could live there and never leave we totally would. Everything you need or want is at the resort. We have been to many islands and resorts and none have met the quality of this one. The staff is exceptional, and truly makes the experience as exceptional as it is. They they always happy to see you, serve you and help you, and it shows. The food at the buffet was wonderful. Zen restaurant was very good, we didn’t make it to many others as my kids are picky so we stuck to the buffet which never disappointed any of us. The kids club was wonderful, the kids had a blast. The waterpark was my kids favorite activity, it’s a good size, and was great for all ages (my kids are 1, 6, 9 and all enjoyed it). The rooms the AC is ice cold, they beds and pillows are very comfy, the maid service is exceptional. The Grand Rooftop terrace room we had was so great with the rooftop deck with whirlpool, highly recommend. The beach was beautiful and very relaxing and the pools clean. Lots of fun entertainment by the pool all day and amazing shows at night. We got to watch a tribute to Queen concert off our balcony and it was a wonderful experience. Make sure to ask for a beach or pool view room, and as long as they have one they will give it to you. Our view was amazing, and woke up to the sounds of waves crashing every day. If you are looking for an all inclusive family vacation, this is the place you want to be!

First time visiting Hard Rock and the level of attention and service is in a category of its own. My only complaint is when you get a double room they’d are only full size beds not even queen as they state. Also the check in could have been more pleasant. No hot hand towel and champagne just basic check in.

No real beach, rooms are very small, you can hear people in the halls seems like the doors are hollow core doors. Overall I think for the price I would pick a different resort like the fives oceanfront or dreams jade now etc. property is older and shows. We booked because of the waterpark but it wasn’t connected to the main pool area so that was a bummer.

Todo estuvo bien, salvo el hecho que luego de hacer el check-in te envían donde el equipo Legendary que según te van a explicar todo sobre el hotel, los restaurantes, las actividades, pero lo que realmente hacen es invitarte a un desayuno con los vendedores del programa de fidelidad del hotel (no se si llamarlo así) y allí es donde comienza el acoso de estas personas que tratan de convencerte de afiliarte a un programa con el cual vas a gozar de descuentos garantizados en estadías en hoteles Hard Rock en todo el mundo. Para envolverte te dicen de entrada que tenés de cortesía un bolso (que nunca recibí), un tratamiento de spa (que tampoco canjeé), un día de alquiler de una cama balinesa a la orilla de la playa y luego te ofrecen hacer reservación en los restaurantes a la carta pero en medio de todo esto uno no sabe si es amabilidad o sólo la manera de llegarte para asistir a un desayuno privado con los vendedores del programa Legendary. En el desayuno el vendedor es de lo más amable, te cuenta aspectos personales de su vida para crear un vínculo y luego después de comer te hacen un recorrido por la habitación más lujosa del hotel para después pasar a otra sala donde sacan los precios. Hicimos un viaje familiar para celebrar el Cumpleaños de 4 miembros de la familia y grito de independencia, nos hospedamos del 14 al 16; ahí se encontraban también una amiga de mi hermanita y su familia. La verdad es que a nosotros nos consintieron desde que llegamos. Un trato súper amable y todos muy serviciales. La comida y las bebidas todas siempre de calidad y variadas. Los restaurantes de especialidad excelentes! La vista de nuestra habitación fue magnífica. Solo pequeños detalles como que en nuestra habitación no dejaron las sales del baño para la tina y en la de mis hermanas si, a nosotros nos dejaron batas de baño y a ellas no, entre otras cosas que realmente son detalles. Ya estamos planeando nuestro regreso el próximo año. Quiero hacer mención especial por su trato y cordialidad pero sobre todo parara agradecerles infinitamente las atenciones: Al equipo de Pool Concierge: David Marco Demian Sara Bryan Salgado Aaron Erik Concierge Enrique A la Mesera Seli del área de Piscina siempre servicial en todo momento. Terrible stay. Overpriced for what is offered. Harassed every single second to go to a “breakfast” to be offered pre-paid vacation program. Restaurants have nothing to do with what they publish in their website, and once there, they prioritize reservations for “vacation club members”. Alcohol offering is of very low quality. Our week-long stay at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya was disappointing from start to finish. Check-in was delayed by over 90 minutes with no explanation. The first room had a strong musty odor, uncomfortable beds, a barely functional AC, and poor soundproofing through a thin connecting door. Basic necessities like towels and hand soap were missing. After one night, I requested a room change. The front desk manager, Joseph, was unhelpful and falsely claimed the hotel was sold out—despite staff confirming it was largely empty. We eventually accepted a move to a better (but still underwhelming) room after being denied a refund. Dining was no better. We waited over 90 minutes for a table at Toro Steakhouse, only to receive undercooked, cold, and incorrect meals. The buffet at Isla was the only decent option. Then, our room flooded during a storm. After calling for distance 5 times, room service finally came to clean the floor. While some staff were kind, the management was absent and unaccountable. This stay has soured our view of the Hard Rock brand and Mexico resorts in general. I’ll be filing a formal complaint. Avoid Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya. Go elsewhere — you’ll thank yourself.

El hotel es muy grande, pero te transportan en carritos de golf, lo único malo es que si te toca en un edificio ubicado en medio, el carrito ya viene lleno y ya no hay espacio, por lo tanto tienes que caminar. La limpieza del lugar es muy buena, por ejemplo los baños de todas las áreas siempre están limpios y con los insumos correspondientes. La calidad de los alimentos es muy buena en todos los restaurantes. La playa es una caleta pero puedes nadar muy bien. El servicio y atención es muy bueno, todos son amables y en cualquier área que estés se acercan los meseros a ofrecerte algo. Y lo que más me gustó fue que hay música en vivo en varios espacios, tocan rock “antiguo” en inglés y los shows son espectaculares en especial el show de fuego y acrobacias en la alberca. En general lo recomiendo ampliamente y seguramente regresaré.

We liked the wildlife on the property. Our kids enjoyed seeing the spider monkeys, iguanas and agoutis. The staff was very hard working across all elements: food, bar, pool, etc. The small beach inlet was excellent for easy snorkeling. The only drawback is there was no beach to walk along or past the property. We did miss that, but so many other parts of the resort - the restaurant choices & food quality, the pools, the shows - made up for this.

Overall we had a good time. Dinner reservations not so much. Being the first time to an all inclusive we didn’t know the process. Ask for a list of daily activities and events at check in. This resort you must wait on line to make dinner reservations in the lobby. Be there by 10 am the line forms quickly and they start taking reservations at 11 am.(they close out quickly). You only need reservations for Toro steak house, Zen and the dinner buffet show. Wait times for other restaurants could be 1-2 hours depending on what time you go. Breakfast is buffet style in all restaurants. Prepare for a 15-30 min wait time. Wait service wasn’t at times the best. The pool service was great the staff got you drinks without hesitation. The blue pool is more for teenagers and adults where the red pool is more suitable for younger kids. Wake up early to claim your spot. The Hard Rock Resort in Rivera Maya was overall a good and relaxing time. We now know what to expect when traveling to all-inclusive resorts.

Overall, nice property. Many of the workers go out of their way to be kind and helpful. The rooms are really, not what they should be and require some work. For example, no exhaust fans inside the bathrooms. Marketplace has a variety of food, but depending on when you come. TORO is certainly above average in every sense and there even salmon is excellent. However, the wait times at TORO are minimum 45 minutes to an hour and we were never able to get into FRIDA or CIAO because of wait times were one and a half hours plus. But overall, I would say it was an above average to good experience.

We recently traveled with our four kids (5, 9, 12, 14) and in-laws, booking two Rock Royalty Suites on the Hacienda side. We've stayed at many all-inclusive resorts over the past 15+ years and had visited this one in 2018. We have realistic expectations and understand no resort is perfect—but this time fell short. The resort’s overall quality has declined. Our experience was *fine*, but we won’t return. Food: 3.5/5 *Toro, Ciao, Zen (Hibachi): 5/5 *Gallos: 4/5 *The Market: 3/5 *Poolside: 1/5 Very few gluten free options compared to other resorts we've stayed at. Room: 3/5 Our suite had hard mattresses, noise issues (thin walls), and visible wear (mold, broken tiles, stained curtains). Housekeeping was inconsistent—we had to request cleaning and towels, with long wait times. We were never informed of the resort credit or included massages. Service: *Restaurants: 5/5 — Excellent staff. *Poolside: 0/5 — Bars were often closed, staff rarely offered help, and lounge chairs were never available until our last day. Cleanliness: 3.5/5- again, I think due to understaffing. Spa: 4/5- Booked an 80 minute massage, it was also just "fine", nothing remarkable. Lagoons/Pools/Waterpark/Vibe City: 4/5 The kids enjoyed the pools and lagoons. They didn't spend much time at the waterpark as I expected, but it was extremely busy and there's very limited space. We've had better value and experiences elsewhere and were disappointed by the decline in both amenities and service.

Overall, my family had a great time. The view from our room was gorgeous! We got to see all the wedding parties. The pool is right next to the beach making it very convenient to go back and forth and the water park is also very close. My kids loved being able to snorkel in the private beach area and schools of fish were everywhere! The pool games led by the entertainers were a lot of fun. We thought there could have been more water sport activities run by them. The shows at night were great, especially reverb and the circus. There was always something live to see, but we missed quite a few shows because almost every night we had problems with the restaurants. We could only make reservations at 2 places and it wasn’t until our 5th night that we were able to get our first reservation. We were consistently told the wait time would be an hour and a half whether we were just by ourselves as 4 people or with friends. Restaurants were closed repeatedly leaving us only two options outside of the buffet. We never even had a Mexican dinner because every time we went it was closed. We finally just ordered in one night! Once we were sat down, the service was usually very good, the staff works very hard, and the food was delicious, but it’s not the frustration we wanted every night.

The drinks were quite watered down, other than that the rooms were dated to some degree with some wood chipping. Most pool side restaurants closed at 5 which was early, we thought.

The club is not open Sunday-Wednesday even though it’s adults only resort. Dining was very limited. Most places were reserved ahead of time which I felt was unfair since it’s an all inclusive. Not many restaurants to eat, food was very average.

Beautiful resort, however they do not make dinner reservations so you must leave the pool at three to change and get ready to stand in line for two hours hoping you may get in to a restaurant. We maximized the pool instead until close with our kids and then accepted the buffet each night as we had no other choices. Resort/experience was 4-5 Star Food/Drinks were 2.5-3 Star

Food was horrible except for the French restaurant. Liquor was watered down. Most rooms had broken bathroom and closet doors and Bed sheets were stained. Ugh, I could go on and on!
