Check in was easy. Staff was very polite and personable. We were able to walk to a choice of restaurants for dinner. Lobby area has pool table and board games that kept the kids (12m, 14f) entertained. It has been a great experience!

We stayed at this hotel so we could attend the KC Chiefs Super Bowl parade. The parking was very difficult to navigate. The clerk did not provide any information of where and how to use the hotel lot. When you arrive at the hotel there are no parking signs where you would normally park to check in. When we returned to our car parked on the street there were 4 cars parked in the no parking area. Better signage would have been super helpful. Also , only one elevator worked. Not great on probably one of their busiest nights all year.

We thought it was great. Cool lobby area with a bar and a lot of sitting areas. The outside area could fit at least 2 more fire pits though. We wanted to use it but there was a group at the 1 fire pit available all evening. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Check in was a little rough. I booked two rooms but they had that I booked 3. Not a huge deal but two of my other friends were just going to take the 3rd room since they said the 3 rooms were next to each other. The man that checked us in obviously was not understanding that and canceled the 3rd room. Luckily my other friends were still on the same floor. The elevator took FOREVER. And only one worked. And our rooms ended up not being next to each other but at least still on the same floor, not sure how they messed that one up. They told us our room keys would get us out of the parking garage and we wouldn’t have to pay parking but not only did we have to pay when we left, there is also a charge on the hotel room bill and when I tried calling SEVERAL times I could not get through to talk to anyone. It was nice room with a nice view though

Absolutely love staying at Aloft. It’s incredibly convenient to reach the Country Club Plaza, the area around is quiet and very safe. The hotel is still quite new and in excellent condition, and the staff are top-notch. My only complaint would be parking. We stayed 3 days and paid $72 to park in their garage ($24/day), which is pretty high for the Midwest.

First time staying. The staff is very friendly and helpful, no issues there. However, there was a terrible smell that went throughout floor 7, room 714 that smells like sulfur or stagnant water. The bathroom sink water flow lacks pressure, and the rug smells, but the beds are comforable. The sister hotel, the Cascade, seemed to better kept and also has a restaurant that has really good service and food.

While the room and building were visibly clean, there was a heavy smell of mildew in the shower (617). Parking was expensive. Otherwise, unique, bright and colorful. Would go back hoping to not find mildew in next room.

We've been staying at Aloft Kansas City Country Club Plaza four-to-six times a year or so since it opened. It's our go-to place when coming to KC. We like the location, XYZ bar, and that it has what we need, nicely, without too much that we don't for a short stay. Though by no means an older hotel, this was the first time I noticed things starting to feel a little tired—stains to carpet outside the elevators or in the hallways, base shoe (the trim that covers the gap between walls and floors) coming loose or having fallen off, thick dust accumulating on the top of switch and outlet faceplates. Nothing disastrous, and the overall cleanliness where it truly matters remains top-notch. But these kinds of misses can be harbingers of worse to come. The good thing is that these are both easy and inexpensive things to cure. I haven't written this Aloft off yet, but if the slide continues on the next visit, we may be looking elsewhere.

Room thermostat was stuck on 77 degrees. We tried to lower it bc the room was so warm. Called down to desk to get advise and help. No one answered! Tried to sleep and got up several times to lower the thermostat to get some relief but it kept going to 77. Told the front desk in the morning and they said a manager would call us. It’s Monday night and still haven’t heard from anyone. Will NEVER RECOMMEND this hotel or stay there again.

The personnel were very good. No issues there. The room design itself has issues. There is only a door on the toilet and shower room. The sink area has frosted glass that shares a wall with the bedroom itself. So, when it’s in use, the light shines brightly into the bedroom. Bad design for someone who is still sleeping. The bed itself has one side so close to the wall that one must shimmy along the wall to get past the bed. Poor room design again. We were also unable to get any cold water in our room. Even the toilet had warm water! The cold setting in the shower was hot as well. No cold water in the sink….. Reported to front desk on departure.

While the room and checkin was easy and smooth, and the beds were very comfortable' there needs to be more counter top areas, and a microwave. We had a mini fridge, and could not reheat any of our great leftover items! Also, a shower curtain would be helpful when having mixed company in a room

Nice place. No need to pay for their parking garage. Free parking on street steps from the door. Room not very private. The partition between bed & bath doesn't go to the floor. So a toddler would be into the multiple wires. Shower door opens in full view of hall door.

The staff were so friendly! The beds weren’t the most comfortable, but it was adequate for our needs. I didn’t realize the bathroom was open, and I was traveling with my nephew, so when we wanted to take a shower, each of us had to make sure that nobody came to that side of the room while we undressed. This isn’t the best hotel if you need more privacy, but we made it work. We loved how close the hotel was to shops and restaurants. We want to come back and spend more time in the area.

I wanted to love this property. Check in was 3:30 and I needed to check in then, they did not text me my room number as available until 7:40 PM. No apology, just like it should be no big deal. The room was insanely hot and they cut you off at turning the air off so it was miserable for summer. And there was no light or plug in for a phone near the bed, had to plug and turn off things across the room. For such a stylish hotel, they could put a little extra in and it could be a great property, and there should be some compensation of free food or something for not being able to check in for another over 4 hours after the actual check in for the property. Could have been great but I will never book there again. Ever. Minor things make huge difficulties for their guests.

Subject: Urgent: Billing & Refund Issues at Aloft Marriott Country Club Plaza Kansas City Attn: Expedia, Aloft & Marriott I booked a stay at Aloft via Expedia over 7 days before arrival, paying in advance per Expedia policy. Despite this, I was charged again at check-in due to two reservations—one paid, one “pay upon arrival”—and at a higher rate than quoted. How did the reservation not cancel after 7 days without payment? I arrived after check-in time, waited 35 minutes for my room due to understaffing, and then while dinnering with a friend, I received a notification of the additional room charge on my Navy Federal account, ruining the meal and forcing me to spend time on the phone. Now, Aloft/Marriott says it will take 7-10 business days to refund, even though I didn't occupy both rooms simultaneously. If you can charge upfront, why delay refunds? This experience is unacceptable and has damaged my trust. I regularly recommend your brands but will now advise against it. I demand an immediate explanation and prompt refund. If you keep removing my review I will find a way for this review to be seen trust me…

All in all, we'd stay here again. Perfect location. We developed a nice rhythm to our stay. But there were some negatives. In our SUV it was very difficult to scan our key for parking entrance and exit. Housekeeping fell short. We requested daily housekeeping, but had to make a specific request for it on day three, and that was the only housekeeping we received during our 5 night stay. We had a small coffee spill on the bottom sheet and did not receive a clean sheet post-housekeeping. After a long morning tour of museums on foot, we returned to have a nap and didn't hang the DND sign and one of the hotel staff (not housekeeping) entered our room without knocking.

Refused to fill up coffee, stated only decaf available once pot empty (always during our stay). Did not answer phone when room on floor partied from 10pm-5am both nights. All 3 husbands went downstairs and front desk said they could not stop guests having fun (after midnight). Sink was blocked. Heating did not work correctly, better if fan turned down. Disappointed as hotel was recommended. Maybe we chose the wrong weekend.

Hotel is only 2 years old. Everything is brand new. Steep hills all around hotel, so walking anywhere is difficult. $24 a night parking was too expensive.

This is a new hotel, very clean and modern in the Plaza area of KC; a short walk to numerous dining and shopping, The walk is short, but the hotel is located up a very steep hill (google maps does not show this). The hotel has ample, convenient parking, but inadequate hangers!

Lovely hotel conveniently located by shops and restaurants at KC Country Club Plaza. Modern minimalist style, comfy bed & large floor to ceiling windows in the king corner room. Overnight parking was an additional $24 per night. Check-in/out was quick & easy. Would definitely stay here again.

Cute hotel, and a quick walk to The Plaza. Cosy nooks to get some work done downstairs, the bartender was friendly and talkative when we hung out at the WXYZ bar to watch the end of the Chief's game. The fitness center was closed for renovations this week, which the gal at the check in counter didn't know, and i didn't find out until i was dressed and there first thing in the morning. You need a key card to exit the parking garage, but it was deactivated at check out so...we called the help button and got nowhere. Literally. So we had to get the person behind us to back up, so we could back up, to eventually get help exiting.

Aloft on the Plaza is pretty new, so you'd expect things to be in tip-top shape, and they are. We've stayed there a couple of times when in town and though we didn't take advantage of the bar, it's now open as is the limited made-to-order breakfast. There's not much to complain about comfortable, highly connected room (the Bluetooth Marshall speaker is a nice touch) with large shower except for the double doors to the toilet which tend to bang loudly together when closing. Breakfast, on the other hand, was a bit of a bust: even with a very limited menu option, they only had one vegan breakfast sandwich left and were out of oatmeal (they did make up a custom fruit cup which was kind but not terribly filling). Considering it's not dine-in or table service and we were just standing around waiting for the food to be prepared, it took way longer than it should have. I can't imagine if others were there also ordering or waiting for food how long it would take. They definitely need a better system for us to want to try breakfast again. Also, the coffee, though made fresh for us, it was full of grounds. Finally, I do not care for the elevator setup: the same elevators for guests as caretaking staff which means you're stopping twice as much if not more to get from your room to the lobby and vice versa.

Poor Poor Customer service at the front desk. Completely ignore you and pretend what you're asking for They can't even help you with. Room had no amenities was extremely tiny. Food from bar was Horrible and the cook was unfriendly as can be. Place made you feel as if being white was Bad. Never come back here

Very clean. Nice room….but small. Great shower. Staff was VERY friendly. Very walkable to the Plaza. Only downside….had breakfast at adjoining sister. No coffee and one of two orders was botched. Did receive coffee later, but not happy it was not available when arrived.
