4 elevators, 3 down when we got there and then that one went out. We were on the 10th floor, so luckily it was working the next morning. No on site parking, valet only. Bathrooms have an odd layout and no privacy when sharing a room. The city view was a building directly across from us under construction so we kept the blinds shut since we could see people working over there. The staff were all VERY sweet and helpful.

There are four elevators and three were inoperable. With hundreds of guests having to go up and down 16 floors was totally unacceptable. wainting times was as much as 10 minutes or more to get on the one small elevator that worked. Marriot should be ashamed of this poor service.and to charge $35.00 for valet parking was a travesty. I paid nearly $400 a night for my room and you'd think for that price the hotel could provide free parking.

Of the 4 Elevators only one was working, I had to wait in the lobby from 4pm until 6:15pm to get my room because the cleaning crew did not finish on time. The next day the room was partially clean, the bed was half made, dirty glasses still on the room, terrible! Lobby crew were trying to help the customers but were overwhelmed by the incompetence of the cleaning crew.

People were lovely. Only 1 of 4 elevators working for 15 floors. Difficult to get up and down ask for a low floor if booking this hotel. Not a ton of restaurants around the building. This corner of Downtown Birmingham is very noisy with street racing and revving of engines. There are much better choices in homewood.

The elevators were broken. The lobby air conditioning was out. And we paid $35 for valet, but when we came back to valet was closed so we could not even use valet even though we pay for it.

Found stuff from previous guests in the room. The room service is inedible and served in boxes. My room was so loud you could hear every noise from the street. I called the front desk minimally 20 times before someone actually answered. There have to be better options.....

The toilet was broken in the room when I arrived and the curtains were stained and covered in hair. The hotel restaurant was overpriced and had horrible service, and was extremely pricey. This hotel is very overpriced for what it is.

The hotel experience was great and the property was very well maintained. Our only issue was the street sound that is noticeably loud inside of the hotel room as the hotel is in the heart of downtown. I would suggest requesting a room on a higher floor to help muffle some of the sounds as on the 2nd floor it was absolutely deafening from 11pm to 2am. There are several top tier restaurants and bars within walking distance.

This hotel is one of the best we have visited since the pandemic. The beautiful historic and modern decor. Nice location. The rooms are small but very comfortable and accommodating. Great bed and shower. Views. The coffee bar. Great! The restaurants offer a great menu of delicious food. Service is still lacking due to being short staffed. Over all wonderful!

Called the hotel to pay the rooms as this was booked as a gift. Employee confirmed all details and credit card info and said it would be used right away so that they would have a smooth checkin That was not done and it ended up being paid for by my two guest upon arrival. Very disappointing

Me and my GF arrived in Birmingham before noon when check in is at 4pm. It was my GF birthday weekend …. She called the front desk to discuss the situation and without hesitation we were told just to drive to the Hotel and a room is already available for us! Once we arrived at the Hotel… the Clerk gave us each a free breakfast card as a birthday gift, upgraded us to a 12th floor Corner room with only 2 other rooms near us! Then to add to all that welcoming we received….Matt Rife (the reason we booked the room to attend his event at the new Coca-Cola Amphitheater) was also stayin in the hotel along with his comedian homies, which we met at the hotel elevators after the event

The hotel is beautiful, the staff is professional, but at 2:00 in the morning the streets become a raceway for loud cars and motorcycles. I guess it's to be expected in the city. I would still stay again, just with ear plugs.

Our first time in Birmingham and so happy with the Elyton hotel. This is one of the prettiest hotels we've stayed at. The lobby is beautiful, the rooms are modern and not the usual boring aesthetics. The rooftop bar was perfect spot after a show. The bartenders were great! The area is very walkable with restaurants nearby. We will stay here again if in town.

The historic hotel was renovated in a modernist style. The rooms, though quite modern, were lovely and very clean. The Rooftop bar was a big disappointment- no real views and the bar was poorly stocked and tended. We were not alerted at check in that the rooftop was closed for a private event on our first night until we rode the elevator to the roof and were abruptly and rudely turned away. Some service and personnel were excellent - others not so much.

I would stay at Elyton again. Check-in and check-out was seamless. The bed was comfortable and the shower was nice. The rooftop bar had a great view and was open until 12 on Saturday night. We tried to order a wood fired pizza at 11:07, but was told they stop taking orders for them at 11. Everyone was kind.

Loud street noise, windows aren’t well insulated. Rooftop bar had cockroaches running around. They also ran out of sour mix, lime juice, cherries, glasses, and pizza dough. Lots of people annoyed about paying for wine and cocktails and receiving it in a paper cup. the guy making pizzas at the rooftop bar was vaping, indoors, in between making food. Definitely low class for the price of the hotel.

The front desk staff was very welcoming. The lady at the front desk recommended the Hotel’s restaurant for dinner. We checked out other options and decided to go back to the hotel restaurant. So glad we did! The food and cocktails were outstanding. Highly suggest the Gumbo, burger and fried okra! Don’t bother saving room for dessert, plan to take it back to the room. It’s worth a midnight snack!
