This hotel was very well located, in view of the river and easily walkable to the waterfront and all the quaint streets, shops and restaurants of Old Town. The Hummingbird restaurant was awesome - we had both breakfast and dinner there - and had lots of outdoor seating including some with water views. All the hotel staff were lovely. We'd go back in an instant!

The property itself was great - well located, relatively new. The hotel had courteous staff but seemed understaffed - check in wasn’t available for two hours after the designated time, the bar was overwhelmed on new years, and the gym had a few out of order machines and no equipment wipes.

Great location in Old Town Alexandria, very near the river and 2 blocks from King street. Large, active bar and nice dining room. Dining room should have blinds,as the morning sun can be overwhelming. Parking is on site but pricey.

The hotel is in a great location and very pet friendly. They accept pets up to 80 pounds. We were on a floor with lots of other dogs and it was great fun. The front desk was exceptionally helpful - shout out to Marshay and Nigel!

Love this hotel & location. Room was spacious & well appointed. Filtered water dispenser was a fantastic feature. Staff was accommodating. Didn't quite understand the $25 daily fee which provides a $15 purchase at the in house market as we typically would not be purchasing these items. Would've preferred a reduced fee.

Perfect waterfront location in Old Town. Walkable with lots to see, do and eat. Overall good feel and look to the property. Disappointed in the level of cleanliness with a stain on the floor on arrival which we left a note asking them if they could clean. They did take care of it when they came to service the room. Second issue was the pod coffee maker. It reeked of mildew. In fact it made that whole area of the room smell badly. I informed them of this and asked if they could swap it out. They were responsive and did put a different one in the room. However, it had the exact same issue. In their defense we experienced this same issue at a very nice hotel in Jackson Hole over the summer. Bit of a health concern with these cheap pod coffee makers and perhaps there are better options. Never ever notice this in Europe or with Illy and other better machines. For the price would expect a bit better.

A very clean and spacious room with fluffy pillows and comfortable bed. Location was a short walking distance from dozens of local shops and restaurants. And near parks and shaded walking trails along the Potomac River. Very helpful, friendly staff who excelled at customer service.

Not a great property. The room itself was fine—large with a comfortable bed. The plumbing in the bathroom leaked. The common areas were a bit degraded. Lots of chipped paint, and hall carpets did not seem too clean. Not enough staff at front desk or in restaurant.

We were there for a family situation/visit. The room felt soooo old. We have stayed there before and the room we had previously was quite nicer. This room felt old and dark. The lighting in the bathroom area was terrible. The room needs more light. The bathroom shower while it looked very clean had some mold in various spots, which freaks me out! I was very disappointed with the room itself.

This is a wonderfully clean and comfortable hotel down in the midst of old Alexandria. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. Our stay was wonderful which made it easy to enjoy the beautiful area around there.

Our room was so dirty. The floor had not been mopped in weeks. Found food in crevice between bed and nightstand. The bathroom appeared clean, but upon closer look it only had a quick wash down. Lamp didn't work. Windows looked like we were in prison. Bathrooms in lobby had hairs all over sink, unflushed toilets, and tp on the floor. The woman who had the night shift, sitting at the front desk, grumbled at me in the morning when I walked passed her and woke her up. The only reason we didn't complain is because we arrived very late and had to leave early the next morning, didn't have time for conflict. Would NEVER stay here again. Their price was way too high for the quality of room and service. Only thing good was location and covered parking (which you have to pay extra for).

We stayed at this hotel with our two daughters. Check in was very easy, and staff was so friendly any time we saw them. Our room was clean and spacious- we very much enjoyed our time and can’t wait to return! Thank you for a great stay!

Great design! I often scratch my head wondering why certain newer hotel properties are designed the way they are…. Not with this one! We needed a room with 2 queen beds, and the one we stayed in was spacious and well thought out. There is actually ample space for a lot of toiletries to the right of the sink which is unusual. There was a small fridge that didn’t look like a fridge. We were on the second floor on the street side of the building and it seemed well soundproofed. I appreciate that the bathroom lighting is bright and not yellowy and dim. (Again, I don’t know why hotels put in dim bathroom lighting, but they often do). The staff was pleasant and helpful. It is in a very convenient location. I would highly recommend the property and will stay here again on future visits.

It is not worth the price. I spent $450 for two nights. There was no microwave in the room. It had a ridiculous barn door for the bathroom, providing zero privacy. The water pressure in the shower was extremely low, almost unusably low. The chair was unusably uncomfortable and it had a laughably stupid bean bag for an ottoman. The office chair was uncomfortable as well. And the blinds on the windows came off their track when opening in and closing. The ice machine room was gross, with water everywhere and clearly something growing there to make it smell horrible. And I got to spend an additional $40 per night to park my car. I do not recommend.

Overall nice. However the rooms have only limited coverage area rugs resulting in loud stomping noises every time someone on the floor above me walked around the room. It kept me awake all night. Literally.

We had a lovely stay at the Hotel Indigo over Labor Day week end. Everything about the hotel was great, from its location very near the waterfront to its very comfortable bed. Recommend highly to visitors to Old Town Alexandria Va

The lady working overnight was not pleasant at all. I tried to book a room on Friday night in person after being on the road for 20 hours and she wouldn’t let me book in person and was VERY rude throughout the process. She said I had to do it online, it was 2 am, we were too tired to even figure it out and slept in our car… we ended up booking online for the ride back because the kids really wanted to stay there.. this is pretty unacceptable in 2024 that the front desk is incapable of booking a room at the desk…. We saw her again checking in and she was more a bit more pleasant this time since we had a room but I have to tell you working with her was extremely painful. You guys may want to reevaluate your staff, this is the hospitality industry. May not be for everyone.

Had to call maintenance for two different problems with my room. They corrected the problems, but the problems shouldn't have existed in the first place. Also, while check-in time is 3:00, my room wasn't ready at 3:00 and I had to wait to check in.

Have to give a shout out to Marvin. Incredible customer service and above and beyond in accommodating me. I had actually made two reservations because my trip got extended by a day and he worked it all out so I didn't have to have any hassle at all and was able to keep my room uninterrupted. It would have been reasonable to expect that I would have to check out, back in and move rooms, but he ensured all was made easy for me. Great hospitality!

My experience at this hotel was very pleasant until the end of my two night stay. At checkout, I asked for an email receipt but never received it. I checked my credit card the following day and realized that I was overcharged by nearly $100. I immediately called the hotel and spoke to an employee named Nigel who, after going over the charges, admitted I was overcharged. He promised to credit my account and send me an email confirming the correction. Three days later I still had not received the email. I called and spoke to Nigel again. This time he sent the confirming email while I was still on the phone with him, but after 12 days my account still has not been credited the overcharge. The overcharge and false promise is very disappointing. It’s a disheartening ending to an otherwise enjoyable stay.

From parking in the garage to the front desk staff, everyone was exceptional, including the restaurant people even the cleaning ladies were very polite couldn’t have had a better experience. The hotel was phenomenal, beautiful clean, and very art deco convenient to all fun restaurants

II arrived after a lengthy series of events, flight canceled, hotel airline booked was awful, etc. I was welcomed by Chelsea who was amazing and took fantastic care of me. It was truly the best feeling to be in a lovely hotel, fantastic location and to be made to feel at home.

This was an excellent Facility. It is conveniently located close to the river, restaurants, and shopping. Staff was very helpful. We pre-prayed our breakfast and it was excellent. We had a table looking out to the river with an excellent view.

Great location! Very walkable to King street, shops and restaurants. We were able to bring our cat which was great for a quick road trip weekend. We are at the hummingbird restaurant and the service was awful- the bartender acted completely overwhelmed and it wasn’t even busy. The toilet in our room was also running which made it difficult to sleep at night. Overall a pleasant experience skip the restaurant.

My overall stay was enjoyable. The hotel was in a very good location and easily walk-able to various shops and restaurants. The Humming Bird restaurant staff, located on the hotel property, were substandard and disconcerting. During my reservation I paid $50 for a breakfast/brunch setting. Upon arriving for the breakfast my wife and I were told we could not be seated due to the restaurant being fully booked. We were offered an outside table, but due to the weather and humidity conditions, this was insufficient. We found the staff to be dismissive and very nonchalant concerning tis incident. I brought this up to the front desk and they said they would refund the $50 dollars, which I have not seen posted to my credit card account. This weekend stay was a time for relaxation for my wife and I. Overall I would rate the hotel as good. But for the cost this establishment nothing to get overly excited about. In the future I will consider other locations and I will not use Expedia.

Front desk staff was consistently excellent, but the Hummingbird restaurant service was not. They never refilled my water and yet they have an automatic 20% tip added to the bill and still have another place on the bill for the tip—not additional tip but just tip, which is misleading.

Perfect location in Alexandria! We had a view of the river which was lovely. And our room was decorated very nicely. Their restaurant Hummingbird had great service and food! Really enjoyed the hotel.
