very nice downtown spot. the valet parking seemed expensive, but the place was convenient for us because of nearby parking options. clean room and good facilities. heated indoor pool was a hit with our kid. decent breakfast. terrible coffee.

I would give it 5 stars except that the valet parking was confusing, inconvenient and frustrating! The young men working there were outstanding but seemed to be working within a system that wasn’t working. We were late for two events as a result of the valet parking! First time ever at a Hampton Inn without its own/visitor parking ☹️!

We always pick places with pools so that the kids can wind down at the end of the night, especially after being in the car for long periods of time. Pool was closed. The site says parking available but we were directed to use the valet service, the city parking garage, or on street metered parking. The location itself was nice, near a lot of shops and cafes.

The place has great access to historic district with fun food and bars. Downside is no parking on site. You pay a valet service 30/day or self park a block away for 10 dollars

Parking has to be paid for and indoor pool was freezing. Asked multiple times for temperature to be checked and fix and no one did. Other than that our housekeeper and mostly the other staff was extremely helpful and nice. The room was clean by the bed weren’t very comfortable nor were their pillows

The kids had a blast in this place! The indoor pool was warm, which was a plus. My wife and I walked around downtown, which you can easily walk around from the hotel and back. The staff were amazing and very attentive to our needs. Excellent breakfast and service too! The valet parking is a good option if you’re just staying in downtown Wilmington, but if you’re heading to the beach I would try to find street parking.

There is absolutely no parking on the property it’s self. There is a parking garage but you have to pay to park and it’s 10 dollars a day if you leave your car over night which you essentially have no choice. The meter is free after 6:30 at night till night 9:00 am the next morning and only has three of them. You can valet but again that is 29 dollars for the weekends.

The mini fridge had the last occupants left overs remaining, found a used mini bottle of lotion under the sheets, and had to get door key replaced twice until they finally fixed the door lock. Could not get a room change due to fully booked so we felt trapped and concerned of the cleanliness of the room for the rest of the stay.

We enjoyed the location and walkability of the area. When we checked in it was evident the bathtub had not been cleaned. The front desk receptionist offered to move us but when she checked there were no available rooms. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately though our room, specifically the bathroom, was not up to standard.

The guests next door has kids crying until 11:30pm. The room was so humid and the carpet felt moist. We thought it would clear up after a couple of hours but it was still in incredibly humid. The room smelled musty. The bathroom had a hook that was about to fall off. There wasnt enough hooks to hang all the towels.

The hotel itself was quiet; However, the hotel is off of a busy street in downtown Wilmington so you will hear the regular city traffic loud noises. Especially if your room is adjacent to third street. The rooms and facility were clean; however there was cockroach in the room where we stayed crawling around when we entered. Also, there is a valet service, but it is quite expensive for the daily fee plus tips and car retrieval isn’t exactly quick for the price you have to pay. It’s not like the valets were bad, they were just simply understaffed at times. I don’t want to stand outside in 90 degree heat on a Saturday morning parking cars in a busy downtown city, so I understand not being able to fully staff the service. So if your expectations are realistic and you don’t need to be somewhere at a specific time, it’s not that bad. Street noise, parking and roaches are the negatives; however, I suppose these things are difficult to avoid when staying downtown and are somewhat expected if you want to be in walking distance to restaurants, the river and stores. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was descent typical hotel breakfast. There was nothing that would absolutely keep me from booking again, there just wasn’t anything that would make me absolutely come back. As long as their rates are better than other places, I will come back.

The bathroom sink overflow was dirty( appeared to have mold). The desk staff ( 6/28 day shift) left the desk and I observed her smoking just outside the main entrance. The smell of cigarette smoke was very strong at that entrance.I think it is not appropriate for anyone to be smoking where others will have to smell it.

Breakfast was good each day. Location is great. That’s really only what we wanted. But, Construction directly across the street was noisy only during the day but blocked some needed sidewalks. Pool was too cold to swim in. Rooms don’t have any drawers so you have to live out of your suitcase. Even the desk, nightstand, bathroom vanity have no drawers. No in room safe so I couldn’t lock up my valuables or devices

Everything was great except the heat didn't work. When we got there the room was 65 degrees. We decided to turn it up to 70 because we were walking to and from the concert venue and we would be cold when we got back. We came and went multiple times and the temperature in the room never got above 66 degrees. This is not ok. There was a chill in the air the whole night. No I didn't say anything because I wasn't going to switch rooms at 1am.

Overall, my stay was good. The staff were polite and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was good and had a great variety. My room was up to date and clean. The only complaint I have is that the ac unit made a weird noise which made for a difficult nights sleep.

Room smelled like cigarette smoke and when we told the front desk and their answer was no one was supposed to smoke in there. No offer to move us to another room. Breakfast was ok. There were hard as a rock muffins every morning. Orange juice is too sour. Coffee was good. Waffle was good. The street noise from cars was too loud in our room. Sounded like a drag strip out there. The bed was comfortable and shower was good.

The check-in staff were not friendly or welcoming at all. Our first time in Wilmington and we asked them for a lay of the land and we’re basically were handed a map and pointed in a direction. After the first day our room key didn’t work and we were informed that upon check-in the receptionist only put in one day stay when we clearly stated we were there for 3 nights. Lastly, there was a sign in the room that said our room would be cleaned every other day but after 2 1/2 days our room had not been cleaned and when I asked the front desk they said we needed to tell them if we wanted our room cleaned. All I all the hotel did not make our stay a good experience which is why I will never stay there again and I will think twice about staying at another Hampton Inn.

I had reserved a room for a guest of ours for a function. The hotel would not let me add this person to the reservation so I had drive to town, check in, and in person add this person to the room. Upon arrival, the front desk clerk,Jessica, could not have been any more rude. She didnt look at me the whole time I was there. She had a horrible attitude and acted as if I had inconvenienced her. This was an extreme inconvenience to me seeing that 80 people were coming to my home within the next hour. I will never book at this Hampton Inn again

Check in time was 3:00. We arrived close to 4:00 and were told our rooms wouldn’t be ready for another hour because housekeeping was behind. No solution was offered as to what to do about parking or luggage. The air conditioning was broken in the lobby, so it was stifling hot. Then, I was told we only booked one room when we had booked two. The front desk staff was not helpful at all. In addition, my brother in law arrived in his room to see the toilet filled with feces. I would never stay here again.

This was a wonderful place to stay! The staff was very friendly, the beds and pillows were extremely comfortable, and the room was so clean the bathtub and shower actually shined! So close to everything downtown Wilmington! The only downside is that unless you want to do the valet parking, you will park in the deck across the street, which was not a big deal to us. Will definitely be staying here again!

Arrived at 2:10 pm — said to come back at 3 for room. When returned- they said they overbooked and didn't have a room & they were overbooked. I indicated it was not acceptable. We eventually got a room. The AC didn't work, the refrigerator didn’t work and the cable went out u til morning. I will never stay there again. The valet service was excellent— only polite people there.

A lot of booking issues. Poor experience… never have I booked a room and arrived to front desk saying the room I booked is not available. Then I get the room go out for a few hours and come back to someone being in my room. UNSAT…..

The rooms and reception staff were great. But the valet parking was a mess--I don't think this was the fault of the valets but the system overall needs to be improved. Also, the breakfast selections were below normal Hampton Inn fare and the coffee was frankly terrible. This was surprising because Hampton Inn's usually have awesome coffee and breakfast options.

The stay was wonderful, all of the staff was so friendly, and had great hospitality. The breakfast was really good, fresh, and had a fun red velvet waffle mix for the season. The room itself was spacious and clean. The only complaint I would have is about the bed, it would creak over any little movement, and felt a little dated because of that. The shower also did not get really hot either, but still a comfortable warm. Those two complaints are meaningless compared to everything else because this is a wonderful place to stay, I will be recommending to anyone coming to Wilmington, and I will be booking here next time I am in Wilmington. 100/100 great place!
