Ingra House Hotel

Close to the airport, very clean room, excellent staff, well equipped kitchen to have breakfast. Clean shared bathrooms was NOT A PROBLEM, the facilities are clean and secure.

The staff was really on the ball, noticing when I drove into the parking lot and welcoming me before I had even walked in the door. I noticed twice that they left the desk and cleaned the restroom immediately after someone had used it. Things were quiet at night. The very roomy bathrooms down the hall had nice, hot showers with great water pressure. The kitchen was large and well-equipped, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a 3/4 size fridge in my room, along with plenty of storage shelves and a closet. The neighborhood is not the best, but I didn’t have any trouble, even coming back late at night from line-dancing at the Pink Cadillac. Nobody approached me or talked to me in the parking lot. One thing I did not like is that the windows did not lock. It made me a bit nervous although my window was fairly high up. Prices were quite reasonable compared to other offerings in Anchorage, and it was a very convenient location, with a car.

Security and clean...staff was very helpful, fresh morning coffee got the spirit moving for the day

WiFi needs to be upgraded

We stayed at the Ingra House twice as we passed through Anchorage on our Alaska trip. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly both times. Accommodations are very clean, as are the shared bathrooms. On our second stay, the bathroom I used to shower was missing a shower mat; not a big deal, just needed to be extra careful stepping out of the shower stall. My one suggestion would be allowing morning access to the kitchen, so those with early flights out would be able to make coffee before departure.

Arrived @ 1:00AM, with luggage and because there was no elevator we had to drag our luggage up to the third floor. Not easy trying to be quiet and drag up to third floor.

Basic room with shared bathrooms and kitchen which was just fine. No breakfast. Not a great area of town, leading to lots of warning signs and rules. I wish they’d pave behind the property and add parking… I felt squeezed in with my average sized rental car.

This is a lower cost hotel with a shared bath and you can’t change that. It is very good at what it does though. The room and bathroom were clean. Security was taken seriously. The staff was helpful, friendly. I was grateful to have a room and it exceeded my expectations. In the summer, Anchorage runs out of hotel rooms and rental cars.

Positives: Very clean bathrooms every day! Nice and helpful lobby staff; Within walking distance of most downtown attractions and restaurants. Negatives: No A/C and hardly any air movement in the room. May be ok in the winter, but made sleeping very difficult in the summer: recommend you install ceiling fans in every room and install window screens to keep out the bugs when you open the windows (the small fan provided was not enough!). Also very noisy because it is right beside a busy highway.

The staff was excellent. Very clean establishment well maintained. Minor issue with room keys loosing the room access code and would need to be reset.

The bathrooms are shared but excellent!! The shower was the best ive had all trip. The room was clean, bed comfy, staff great, very good experience

Stains on bedsheets and a little dirty.

This property is relatively affordable for Anchorage, and fairly close to downtown. The linens were clean, contacting staff for late night arrival was a breeze. Check-in was easy. The main downside was that the shared bathrooms were dirty and not well maintained, with broken tiles and a shared bath mat.

Very clean and secure. Shared bathrooms were not a problem. My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much. We would definitely stay there again.

Everything was very clean and straight forward. Easy to get in and out with your key card. The bathroom and shower is shared but it was kept extremely clean and I never had a problem waiting to get in.

Manager Max was very kind, and even helped me out in a time crunch with transportation to a medical apptmt! I loved the corner room with two windows for cooling airflow during a sunny stay in Anchorage. Security staff were very friendly, as was the (watch?)dog. My room was immaculate, and the bed and pillows were super comfy. The only "noise" was occasional laughing from entrance crew, and I'd NEVER complain about laughter! Mark at the desk gave me good walking directions to places I needed to go, and people on the city buses were also helpful guiding me to stops. The small marketstore nearby had yummy frozen options I could microwave for dinner and even ripe avocados! It was great having the clean little fridge in my room for keeping drinks and fresh goods handy. I was greeted warmly every time I came and went, and staff asked after me between medical appointments (which is why I was in Anchorge). There was always a clean, well-supplied bathroom available when I needed, and it being down the hall was no problem - it reminded me of some nice hostels I've stayed at in Seattle. The kitchen was sweet, with free coffee, a small table I could eat meals at, and was well stocked with utensils and cooking supplies. And with all that, it was VERY AFFORDABLE for last minute booking mid-tourist season. Would stay there again for sure!

It has communal bathrooms. It is basically a high end hostel. I payed $170 for the room. But that's Alaska. Anywhere else i would expect to pay $50. It was very clean, except the carpet was filty. After i walked bare foot for an hour my feet were black. I washed them and wore shoes the rest of my stay. The staff was friendly and helpful.

If you are looking for a hostel-like experience, this place is OK. But, don’t expect anything like a hotel stay experience. The shared bathroom concept was fine and expected. But, the overall feel of the place is that it’s pretty run down. The window in our bedroom was broken and didn’t shut all the way, so we had loud street noise. The room curtains were held closed with paper binder clip, the rooms and bathrooms weren’t that clean. The managment was very pleasant and helpful and they clearly care. The beds were comfortable enough, and the overall experience wasn’t bad.

Twin beds. Communal baths. Not what I expected or wanted for the price. Lots of homeless in the area and extremely noisy due to the traffic and motorcycles at night. 2:30am and music blaring on a Wednesday night. No sleep. My wife and I don't sleep apart, but had to.

The room was hot with no AC of any kind. The hallway, the bathroom very cool. Someone forgot to run an AC vent or if there was one it was closed. This room is next to a very busy road so be aware if you are a light sleeper.

WiFi needs to be upgraded

Mattresses are REALLY old and uncomfortable . Very clean.

This place is well-managed. They tell you right away that the bathrooms are down the hall. The bathroom that I used was spacious, updated and clean, but apparently they’re not all like that. The rooms are clean but very tired looking. Bottom line is that this place was almost $300 per night cheaper than anywhere else.

Hostel is really nice. Room was clean, bathroom was in perfect condition, fast wifi.

The room rate was very good for Anchorage. The person at the desk was very helpful. But the bed was way too old and soft. Also they have shared bathrooms.

Rooms are compact but comfortable. Access to shared bathroom did not create any problem. There was constant noise from traffic outside

First I would like to say Max the GM is a super cool dude made the stay well worth it I will be coming back just because of his hospitality and staff we chilled and BS even after I checked out they are straight forward this is not a traditional hotel it does have shared bathroom but they provide an affordable clean place for travelers passing through Anchorage everything was clean if your a versed traveler you understand the shared bathroom it’s very common internationally the only complaint it is noisey due to it’s proximity to the road just bring headphones or ear plugs don’t let this deter your stay it is close to downtown so if your into that or just passing through tell Max Dustin said What’s Up and I’ll check y’all out next year

Front desk staff were great and super friendly. The restrooms are shared, but that didn't present a problem. The hotel is close to downtown, and the facility is secured, so we felt really safe staying at Ingra House. Our neighbors at the hotel were really friendly. Considering that we were staying over Memorial Day weekend, Ingra House was quite a bargain. I would definitely stay again when travelling back to Anchorage.

As soon as we pulled in the manager and other staff came to greet us and helped us with our luggage. I cannot say enough about how nice everyone was. We immediately felt so welcomed and safe. The manager even carried our luggage up the stairs and put it into our room for us. They were all very helpful about tips on where to go to dinner and any other questions we had. They only challenge we had was a little bit of difficulty getting the luggage down the stairs only because we left so early, no one was awake. Otherwise, the staff would have gladly brought it down for us. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. The shared bathroom was always spotless. I’m happy we stayed there and will definitely stay again.

I was looking for a no frills place to sleep before traveling early the next day. The place is as advertised. Shared bathrooms but not a big deal. It’s all well kept and clean. Staff is excellent and super friendly. The area of town is a bit sketchy but the property is very secure. The manager turned out to be someone I knew from my USCG days in AK so that was a nice surprise. Would stay there again and recommend it!

It was a bad experience for me and I don’t want to stay there ever again! The night manager was mean as heck and got angry at me for saying good evening.

It's quite a distance to downtown where the restaurants and cafes are sited.

Very friendly & caring staff. Easy walking distance to restaurants, shopping & the Alaska Railroad train Depot. Clean shared bathrooms were no problem. Bed was very comfortable! I recommend this as a good place to begin your adventures!

Seems there is no affordable chain hotel in greater Anchorage where the clientele and neighborhood don't scare the crap out of you! Certainly don't need to be walking around carefree here. It's main advantage is being on the edge of downtown. Worn-out property with shared bathrooms (used by 1 at a time, unisex), tiny rooms, etc. Each room has a full-size fridge and small flatscreen TV with Direct TV. Does have a kitchen. Fans run everywhere all the time... Funky.

Max and Ron were as welcoming, helpful and responsive as it gets, straight 100. Well kept place, conveniently located.

People loud around the blocks, lots of yelling and screaming during the night.. during day planes flying by every few minutes. Had a dog and security sitting in doorway all day for our protection... so yeah..... BUT cheapest rates in town...

It was clean and the staff was great. Good location and the only affordable option in the summertime.

Pro: - Reasonably priced vs. surrounding options. - Location within walking distance (30min) to downtown and bus stops. - Neat and clean. - Friendly staff. Con: - Adjacent to municipal airport, can be loud

Not located in a nice area of Anchorage but I’m not sure there are many nice areas in downtown Anchorage. Max was nice, very vigilant about keeping vagrants at bay. Room was bare but sufficient for 1 night’s stay. Clean but very dated, could use some renovating.

The hotel had everything we needed. It was clean and had a usable kitchen and a strong shower. The bathrooms are shared, but only one person is in the bathroom at a time, so it is private.

Couldn’t ask for more attentive, caring and courteous service from staff. Loved the opportunity to mingle in the communal kitchen. A relaxed stay easily accessible to downtown on foot or by short Uber ride.

Overall good stay don’t expect a quiet place as it’s right on the main road. Also no bathrooms in the bedrooms but that was clearly stated prior to booking. Good option for those trying to save a little money bathrooms were always clean and kitchen was available for those who wanted to use it. Thanks for the hospitality!

This is a partially community-living facility. Rooms are private. Restrooms are one-user-at-a-time only but shared. Great shared kitchen. The price cannot be beat for the cleanliness and quality.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ingra House. Mark, Max, and the other gentleman whose name I didn’t catch were very helpful and kind. The room and bathrooms were very comfortable and clean. We appreciated the refrigerator in the room and the use of a kitchen.
