The property does not look like a hotel. It is a door in a wall all by itself. You have to buzz the property on what looks like an apartment list with Stendahl being one of the options. The breakfast has no hot options. If going on a cruise it is perfectly located. Walk out the property door and walk straight. Go past the church and keep walking until you get to the gates for the port. It is about a 15 minute walk.

A set of 6 rooms on one for with communal area. A basic breakfast was available including tea / coffee. A/C in rooms worked well. Dedicated wifi per room (walls thick). Host was helpful and showed us to keep luggage back last day until airport taxi arrived 4pm. Very good location.

Modest lodging on first floor of townhouse without a Residence sign. No lift, so bags had to be carried up a flight of darkened stairs. We were told to give an exact arrival time, which was not possible until we left Rome. Still, a nice enough stay

Had a hard time finding out how to check in. Took us about 30 minutes to finally find the buzzer for the Stendhal B&B. Person checking us in, was not very friendly. Way too many stairs to carry your luggage up, no elevator.

The room was great. The staff was very good. But guests should be told that they have to carry their luggage up 24 steps to their room. Very difficult for lots of people!

Really hard to find! An old building, that the hotel shares with many private apartments. It is pretty basic, but clean. Big downside - the keys are attached to the card that works the electricity- and there’s only one. So if one of you wants/needs to go out, the other person stays back - in the dark! Wifi slow. Location great - for bars, restaurants, coffee shops. And a short (but very confusing) walk to the free cruise shuttle.

Rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable. Will require hauling luggage up about 2 flights of stairs. Did not seem to have luggage drop or any checkin before 2pm. Great central location with plenty do within walking distance.

Booked a room for three for an overnight stay. Found out a few days to my stay that I was double booked. The guest house refused to cancel one of the rooms because they were fully booked and notice was too short. They explained that if they were notified earlier they would have given it to another client. They did not know why hotels.com still had them listed as having rooms available on their site. I was bounced between them and hotels.com. Stuck with two rooms. One had a somewhat musty smell but was otherwise clean and well looked after. Rooms are just like in their pictures. Turns out there was just one other room that was occupied by another guest so that left me wondering. Coffee maker had quite a bit of lime scale and could do with some cleaning. Breakfast was fruit, pastries, yogurt as shown in their pictures. Stairs are as shown in their picture, about twenty something or so. Close to train station and short distance from shops, beach. There was nothing we liked about this property. I’ve never said that before but find somewhere else. I was literally looking for another place soon after we arrived. Also, I noticed the manager attacks bad reviews so keep that in mind as the tone of the place. We were locked out and almost could not access the place for the night and they could not care less. You have one set of keys that shuts everything down if one person leaves so you can’t leave AC on if someone stays. I saw a roach in tiny kitchen. Breakfast was a joke and there were bugs flying around. You could hear everything. The location felt unsafe and trash is just thrown at door rather than to side. It may work for one night for people who require nothing or very little. I was asked if that is what a hostel is like. It wasn’t much better. We asked how to get to cruise port and forget getting help although everyone is going there. It seemed so burdensome and the answer was to go down main road. That’s it. I had to ask five times and we still couldn’t find shuttle. Sad :(

This place was very spacious. Tall ceilings, tall windows, and more than ample space even with a king size bed. The shower is quite very small however and could be enlarged if the toilet/bidet was moved. Breakfast was nothing more than juices and some pre-packaged danishes. A few fresh croissants did arrive later. Check-in was a little confusing, but other than check-in and shower size, we have. Nothing negative to say.

This property is very accessible to dining options, and is walkable to both the train station and the cruise ship terminal shuttles (about .5 miles to each). The area was easily walkable. The host seemed quite surly and was not particularly responsive, but he did allow us to keep our luggage in the reception area until the afternoon. The breakfast left a lot to desire. The room was quite spacious, but very dated and needed some updating. There was no blackout curtain on the window which would have been welcome.

Was a little hard to find, but they're all the same. Service was fine. The room was ok. The bed sunk in the middle and the pillows were too hard. Breakfast was simple and full of carbohydrates and sugar, no protein. Would probably try something else next time.

This hotel was beautiful in a great location near the port. The staff was friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was nice. The pictures online do not do this place justice. The room was incredibly spacious. We loved it.

We were a group of four people who stayed for one night. The accommodation was very clean and our bed was comfortable, lovely clean sheets and towels. Breakfast was extremely basic. The disappointments were that there are many steps up to the apartment block! The owner will not meet you after 8pm ( or just before), which is it clear when booking. Unfortunately our luggage didn’t make our connecting flight, which meant waiting for the next flight to arrive, this meant that we would be at the property just after 8pm ( we arrived exactly 8.10pm) , we spoke with the owner as soon as we realised the issue with our luggage and he wouldn't accomodate our needs. Fortunately our friends grabbed a taxi & travelled straight to the accommodation and collected both room keys, else we'd would have had to find different accommodation,! they were kept waiting for the keys to arrive for over 30mins which isn't great because there's no where inside to wait Fortunately it wasn't raining!!! Would we book again! Sadly no, only because of the delay with our luggage and we feel it's safer to use a hotel with 24hr reception and your not kept waiting for thekeys.

Place was advertized as "hotel". Instead, it is more like a rooming place. It was difficult to contact them. It was also a hassle to check in...we had to wait on the sidewalk for about 2 hours before the guy showed up. If possible find a different place to stay.

Place was Difficult to find. Host was very rude and not accommodating. as we had trouble getting there. Host was not willing to wait for us, has he had restricted check in time. Free breakfast was limited, no coffee , all pre packaged foods. Do not recommend!!

When I booked, I was unaware of the restricted check-in hours and unavailability to at least drop bags ahead of check-in. Had to schlep my bag with me to business meeting. No one answered the doorbell during posted check-in hours; a kind elderly gentleman/building tenant allowed me into the building. That could have been more problematic but worked out. Breakfast was wanting...bananas, twinkie-like high sugar treats in plastic, and hidden juice in fridge. No attendant present for breakfast to at least assist with, - literally - closeted coffee machine and other potential hot beverage items. Recommend disregarding breakfast offering altogether and just go to one of may nearby bars for very economical Italian Cornetta and coffee. Noticed the area is wired for video surveillance. In the end this place is clean, cheap and I felt very safe. Great option for passers-through looking for a place to bunk down for the night.

Ideal localtion with a 10 min walk from station and also 10 mins to shuttle bus for taking a cruise. Plenty of bars and restaurants within a short walk from hotel. There are stairs to reception so be mindful when packing, there around 30 steps. Room was clean with very good AC which was much needed in july. Breakfast basic but ok for a snack before moving onto a cruise. Communication was good before arrival as they will be there to meet you when you arrive.

Hotel was clean and safe. It was central to many walkable areas. Close to port for beginning cruise. Cannot walk to port it is too far. Still must take taxi into port. Cannot Uber into port. Ubers cannot enter port. Must take taxi.

Rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable. Will require hauling luggage up about 2 flights of stairs. Did not seem to have luggage drop or any checkin before 2pm. Great central location with plenty do within walking distance.

This place was very spacious. Tall ceilings, tall windows, and more than ample space even with a king size bed. The shower is quite very small however and could be enlarged if the toilet/bidet was moved. Breakfast was nothing more than juices and some pre-packaged danishes. A few fresh croissants did arrive later. Check-in was a little confusing, but other than check-in and shower size, we have. Nothing negative to say.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. They don’t have to washcloths or shampoo for the shower, but we were only there for 1 night so we made do. Our host was excellent.

A set of 6 rooms on one for with communal area. A basic breakfast was available including tea / coffee. A/C in rooms worked well. Dedicated wifi per room (walls thick). Host was helpful and showed us to keep luggage back last day until airport taxi arrived 4pm. Very good location.

Was a little hard to find, but they're all the same. Service was fine. The room was ok. The bed sunk in the middle and the pillows were too hard. Breakfast was simple and full of carbohydrates and sugar, no protein. Would probably try something else next time.

Place was Difficult to find. Host was very rude and not accommodating. as we had trouble getting there. Host was not willing to wait for us, has he had restricted check in time. Free breakfast was limited, no coffee , all pre packaged foods. Do not recommend!!

When I booked, I was unaware of the restricted check-in hours and unavailability to at least drop bags ahead of check-in. Had to schlep my bag with me to business meeting. No one answered the doorbell during posted check-in hours; a kind elderly gentleman/building tenant allowed me into the building. That could have been more problematic but worked out. Breakfast was wanting...bananas, twinkie-like high sugar treats in plastic, and hidden juice in fridge. No attendant present for breakfast to at least assist with, - literally - closeted coffee machine and other potential hot beverage items. Recommend disregarding breakfast offering altogether and just go to one of may nearby bars for very economical Italian Cornetta and coffee. Noticed the area is wired for video surveillance. In the end this place is clean, cheap and I felt very safe. Great option for passers-through looking for a place to bunk down for the night.

Breakfast was included and the croissants were fresh and delicious. A wide variety of fruit was also provided. Simone was helpful getting our very heavy suitcase up the stairs. Very close to cruise shuttle.

Booked a room for three for an overnight stay. Found out a few days to my stay that I was double booked. The guest house refused to cancel one of the rooms because they were fully booked and notice was too short. They explained that if they were notified earlier they would have given it to another client. They did not know why hotels.com still had them listed as having rooms available on their site. I was bounced between them and hotels.com. Stuck with two rooms. One had a somewhat musty smell but was otherwise clean and well looked after. Rooms are just like in their pictures. Turns out there was just one other room that was occupied by another guest so that left me wondering. Coffee maker had quite a bit of lime scale and could do with some cleaning. Breakfast was fruit, pastries, yogurt as shown in their pictures. Stairs are as shown in their picture, about twenty something or so. Close to train station and short distance from shops, beach. Walking distance to cruise terminal.

Everything was great for our stay. However, they need to notify you that ALL members need to be present during check-in, because they need everyone’s passport during the check-in process. One member of our party was traveling solo, and would not be present until after the check-in period. That became a problem.

I feel that this place was very disappointing. The air-conditioning was not very good when it did work. It still wasn't good when you went out for the day the air conditioner went off so the room was blistering hot. When you got back there was no ice machines or any way of getting cold beverages overall very bad experience. The bed was very bad. The pillows were hard as rock had a very horrible sleep for two days.
