The Renishaw

Great staff, excellent breakfast (Sundays only), great value and comfy beds!!! Only downside is the bedrooms are upstairs and therefore not suitable for people that struggle or cannot use stairs as there isn't a lift. My mum and I really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back soon.

Restaurant not open Monday and Tuesday, but apart from that the room was clean and well presented, and the staff/owners are extremely friendly and helpful. I would happily use The Renishaw again.

Great ‘budget’ stay Great well priced cafe next door Large car park

Very nice stay at the Renishaw. Situated just off the M1 for easy access and although situated on a traffic light controlled crossroads the double glazing effectively blocked out most of the noise. The staff were very helpful, to the extent of allowing entry before the 4pm check-in time. Very good breakfast available at a reasonable price on the onsite café Will be definitely be using this hotel again

Was good value for money. Conveniently situated for visiting Renishaw Hall wine tasting and gardens . Comfy bed, and not a bad size bathroom. Rain shower but no hairdryer. The food in the restaurant was really good, not that quick to appear but it was worth the wait. We didn’t like being so close to the road though.We couldn’t get the window to close properly so that it made it noisier once the traffic started in the morning.

The room was comfortable and a good size. However the bathroom was dimly lit and the shaver light did not eork and was not repaired even after we reported it. Plenty of parking. There were several stairs to our room and no lift. We would stay there again.

Small friendly and cheap place to stay a short distance from Sheffield. Large car park and although on main Sheffield road our room was quiet. Clean and tidy. Doesn’t provide breakfast apart from Sunday but the cafe alongside is open for breakfast and was a lovely breakfast. We also had a sandwich and salad to take away for our lunch as all so reasonably priced. The Renishaw provides breakfast on Sunday and this was lovely. The couple that own it and all the staff were very friendly and helpful telling us about how to get to places, places to visit and knowledge of local area. Not only ideal for visiting Sheffield but perfect location to visit Peak District. Just one complaint is that has lot of stairs and so when booking advisable to enquire where room is. We are hoping to return and we wish the owners good luck for the future.

Excellent location for a wedding venue nearby a lovley welcome on arrival everything explained regards checking in and out . Room was very comfy fantastic shower and plenty of toiletries & towels provided. Has a lovley bar aswell and stayed the Saturday night and the hotel had entertainment on .thanks for a great stay .

When reception informs you there is a problem with the heating and there wont be any hot water until 08.30, that doesn't sink in until you get to your room. One small lukewarm radiator when its' snowing out side isn't much help, when the room is already cold. We have stayed here before and had no problems, but this time was a real shock to the system. Things like putting a small eclectic heater with extra bedding wouldn't have gone a miss. Even the duvet was a summer one. Yes my wife did sleep fully clothed, and it wasn't until the morning that the room warmed up and we could have a hot shower. I will contacting The Renishaw myself and will see what they have to say.

We stayed in room 6, a twin room. Overall we had a good stay with the following comments: Plus points: 1. Large well decorated comfortable room, 2. Comfortable beds with good quality bedding. 3. Good tea and coffee making facilities. 4. Good size shower room with plenty of hot water. 5. USB charging points by beds. 6. Good quality bath towels. 7. Free parking and located close to the M1 motorway. Negative points: 1. Room heating timings centrally controlled, room was cold at times. No auxiliary heating in the room. 2. Exhaust fan in shower room very dusty with cobwebs. 3. Shower mixer valve not working, only hot water available. 4. Breakfast only available on a Sunday. This hotel is a good option for an over-night stay when travelling.

Had a nice stay. Staff friendly and helpful. The restaurant was lovely and food amazing. Room was big and comfortable, was a musty and damp smell and bathroom could have done with a deeper clean. Small hairs on sink and dusty in fan. On a main road and traffic was load and busy. But not hotel fault.

We had a wonderful stay at The Renishaw, the room was clean and fresh, everything we needed for our stay. The room was nice and warm and a comfortable bed. The only slight negative - car park floods terribly right by the entrance when it rains so beware of this. We also had a cheeky breakfast as it was a Saturday stay, the staff could not have done more , very accomodating and the food was great .

Shower wasn’t very good, very slow water pressure

The staff were very friendly and our room was clean sadly the water temperature in the shower was only very luke warm also in the basin even after running it for some time.the flooring was a bit spongy entering the bathroom and in the hall way leading to our room but we still had a good one night stop over.

The room was really spotlessly clean with a lovely shower. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Grateful for the venue for giving us a comfortable place to stay, and fewer worries about arrival and leaving times. Spotless, soft bed would book again.

Nice room and comfy bed. Can’t comment regarding food. Sporadic traffic noise as my room was at the front.

Ice bedroom, bathroom a little dated. Nice friendly staff. Would stay again.

Clean room with lots of space.

Staff and hotel lovely. Room next to main road and very noisy throughout the night. Floorboards creaking from room above.

Third time staying there and the room I had was older than others and not the normal standard. Toilet was needing refurbished and looked tired and shower was leaking.

There was a notice about maintenance team 9am-9pm but there was drilling and banging until after 10pm on Friday evening. The rooms in general are not soundproofed at all - I could hear the man next door talking on his telephone plus people walking up and down the stairs

We found the hotel to be well located for our journey. We stayed in room 15 on the third floor, it looked to have been recently redecorated and to a good standard. The bed was king size and comfortable. We would happily stay there again. The staff were very helpful.

Check in was ok. There was no one at the desk but I popped into the adjoining restaurant and they sent someone down within a few minutes. The first impression was good. The room and shower were well presented. Sound The hotel is situated next to a cross roads. Even with the window closed, the sound of motorbikes was loud. Since the cross road requires traffic to stop, I think the sound of motorbikes accelerating was very loud. It was a warm night so we slept with the window open. A large fan was provided, but unfortunately it was broken. With the window open, traffic was even louder. Our room was a twin. It was on the top floor and the window was one of those velux windows in the roof. But there was no blind or curtain, so there was nothing to stop the light coming in. It was a good thing we had sleeping masks! During the night some other guests came up to our floor and were talking and we found it very loud and disruptive; this woke us up. The room and the bedding and towels were all clean :) Comfort Note that the are spoiled by the memory foam mattress we have at home. The twin singles in our room were ok. They were the old spring-style bouncy mattresses, could have been worse, could have been better. The biggest problem was the bed frames, which creaked loudly. Our perception of value could be skewed because there was a festival on this weekend and many places were already booked up. From what we could tell, the price we paid was midrange for a "normal" hotel.

This stay was very good value The room was spotless, beds comfy Staff helpful breakfast If we stayed again I would ask for a room on the top floor as the lack of soundproofing between prevented me having the best nights sleep floors without carpets preve

Very friendly ,helpful and passionate staff nothing was too much trouble.Food at the restaurant was fantastic the chef should be on master chef everything cooked fresh to order. All staff should be very proud of what they are doing at this hotel. The only negative from my stay was the noise from the main road if they could have some sort of sound barrier ie extra blind and maybe think about different flooring too as this was extremely noisy from people walking about above my room.Would definitely stay here again ,would be even better if they offered breakfast thoughtout your stay as the food is exceptional.

A lovely clean, comfortable room in a remote feeling but actually really, really convenient location. Staff were very friendly & welcoming, food was delicious. Everything well priced. I'll definitely be back.

Had 2 rooms, one was good the other was dire. Manager unhelpful and rude... apparently it's ok to charge the same for 2 very differenr standards of room. Told us that most of the over bed lights don't work so it's not only ours. Holes in bathroom lock and bedroom walls. Spare lamps, rolls of carpet, etc stored outside our room.

Our stay at the Renishaw was a delightful experience, we would definitely stay again if we return to the area. The room was lovely and recently renovated including the bathroom and spotlessly clean. The staff are very friendly and can't do enough to make your stay exceptional. Thankyou all.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Check in and out was quick and easy. Our room was excellent it's decorated well, modern, lots of room with great facilities such as smart TV, tea/coffee making and a hairdryer. Only negative was that the room was very cold and we had problems with our hot water in the bathroom and shower. But the staff came and resloved this quickly for us. Great hotel for value for money and we would recommend and stay again.

Decent location but nothing much around the hotel if you do not have a car.

Property at a traffic light controlled junction so consequently a bit noisy but sleep not disturbed. Modern and clean, restaurant not used so can't comment on service or menu.

Excellent location for the event we were attending at Eckington. We were made welcome by friendly staff, the room was spacious, clean and well equipped/well maintained. Great to have free parking too. Perfect for our overnight stay.

Only stayed for one night, but had a lovely stay. Lovely building and decor. Room beautiful. Quiet and luxurious. Very friendly staff, both at check in, and the following morning at breakfast. Breakfast was varied and delicious, and very reasonably priced. Would definitely return when in the area again.

I can't fault it. Spotlessly clean and for an economy single room, it had everything you need. En suite, nice little touches having hand soap and shower gel. Spotless white towel, bath mat and bedding. The bed was comfortable. Check in was very friendly and I was given full instructions on how to use the self locking main entrance door. And all staff were friendly and attentive. The food was great in the restaurant. Yes, you may wait a little longer for it than in a chain restaurant, but knowing everything was home cooked and prepared more than made up for that. I would recommend this hotel .

Too noisy, floors creaked and screaming kids, what a combo. Breakfast in the morning was poor standard. £5.00 for two toast with a bit of scrambled egg on the top. Good location, but I will not stay there again.
