Very nice surprise with the location at the bottom of Roseberry Toppin , didn’t know about this until we arrived . The hotel is a treat to stay there. We were going to a friends house in Whitby and travelling from west of Scotland. Hence it was good to stop off , we visited Stokesley near bye and loved the English village life . We will stop here again and the cost was worth it.

Very pleasant stay, I have stayed a few times and always very good. On this one-off occasion the draft had stopped working but the staff tried their very best to offer other solutions which were appreciated. Thank you

Unfortunately the bar beer cooler was being repaired so there was no draft beer available. Despite this there was also no bottled beer. Also I stayed in Room 1 which was clean and tidy but situated beside the main door to the building so was disturbed regularly with the banging of the door.

The room was clean, but the bed wasn’t very comfortable. There wasn’t a way to reach staff from the room without leaving the room to go across to the bar. We did enjoy having a fan in the room to circulate air. We strongly recommend not having a TV in the breakfast area. We and other guests discussed how watching and listening to the news spoiled the experience and peace of dining together. Staff between shifts provided very different levels of service and experience. One group was more warm, inviting, and informative.
