The room was clean, but the bed wasn’t very comfortable. There wasn’t a way to reach staff from the room without leaving the room to go across to the bar. We did enjoy having a fan in the room to circulate air. We strongly recommend not having a TV in the breakfast area. We and other guests discussed how watching and listening to the news spoiled the experience and peace of dining together. Staff between shifts provided very different levels of service and experience. One group was more warm, inviting, and informative.

The bar and breakfast staff were abismal tbh. Jamie should not be in hospitality, he ignored us at check in for 5 minutes while he was “pressing buttons” on the till then he refused to give us a green tea teabag for the room as only breakfast tea was provided. We got to breakfast at 9.30 to find nothing left and no attempt being made to replace anything or clear the tables. The room was too warm, the thermostat on the radiator was broken. The steak and ale pie was mis-advertised as there was not one bit of steak in it and the chicken parmo was tasteless
