Old world charm with staff that are as polite and efficient that you will find anywhere. A faithful re creation of an English country retreat. Wonderful estate. Beautifully appointed rooms. Bring a book and come prepared to disconnect from the world and relax. Croquet and badminton on the lawn. Long walks on the estate. Salmon and trout fishing.

Stunning grounds and setting, excellent food and presentation, simply the best service from staff who went above and beyond. Only downside was I couldn't pay by Amex, the first hotel I've stayed in that doesn't accept it.

The location, grounds and building are lovely. Ambiance is unpretentious and professional, the food delicious. The rooms are lovely but our bathroom was a let down. Very deep old and somewhat dangerous bathtub, with mixer shower taps. No way to shower without flooding. Very limited shelving/storage - nowhere to put washbags etc.
