Convenient and clean...probably the best choice in the area. The pool has a really small seating area around it so can get crowded fast. Also that area had no air moving and was a humid 86 degrees. Not very enjoyable to sit around, but overall good property.

Overall cleanliness the room was very nice . The wifi was down one day and went to do laundry and that was out of order. Also over the weekend kids were wraking havoc throughout the whole building couldnt go swimming cause they were monsters in tbe pool and no parents to be seen anywhere.

We usually stay at this hotel when in Brookings to visit our college kid. It is conveniently located off the interstate and near the university. It's clean and staff is friendly. I'm usually willing to pay a little more to stay here vs other nearby hotels. Unfortunately, this stay might change that. First, the pillows were horrible - not even real bed pillows, but instead were lumpy square pillows, they made me think of the type of pillows you might put on a couch. The exercise room equipment was minimal (1 elliptical and 1 treadmill machine, plus free weights and a bench). The elliptical made an annoying screech when in use and the treadmill was a small and didn't feel terribly sturdy. More like what you would find in a small home gym than a commercial facility. But the real kicker is that it was 80 degrees in there! There was no way to turn the thermostat down and no fans in the room. (For context, it was only about 75 outside). Finally, the eggs at breakfast were so watery you actually had to drain them before putting them on your plate. Taste-wise, they were okay (not good, not bad), but they were quite unappetizing in the pan! Overall, I would stay here again, but it will no longer be my automatic go-to.

Great hotel- lots of space even if a basic room. Walls are a little thin; I could hear the neighbors dropping soap in the bathroom even. But 1st floor ceilings are so tall I couldn't hear the upstairs neighbors! Very clean, nice beds, convenient location, huge parking lot. Basic breakfast. The onsite restaurant has amazing dinners. Smaller pool; if they have an event don't plan on swimming. Better than the other hotels in the area.

It was a great location and nice hotel. Disappointed that they were overhauling the restaurant/bar. One of the reasons we selected ed this hotel was their onsite restaurant but it was not open during our stay.

We've enjoyed staying at this property before, but this time the room was not clean. The floor had something sticky spilled on it, the bathroom faucet had toothpaste spatter from prior guest, and the bathroom mirror had water and toothpaste spots on it.

The staff who checked us in was exceptionally helpful! The room was less than clean. Dusty parts of the carpet that haven’t seen a vacuum in a long time, unknown substance dried running down the bathroom door, dirty walls with chipped paint, sink in the bathroom didn’t drain well and as such had nasty things floating in it. The place could use some TLC and attention to detail cleaning. The common areas were well maintained.

When we arrived at our room we couldn’t get the tv to work. I called the desk and asked for assistance but the girl running the desk was the only one working. After numerous attempts to get it to work she finally came to the room to assist. She couldn’t get it to work either. She then assigned us another room and that tv also didn’t work. By then she was too busy checking guests so we were simply without a tv for the night. The desk clerk tried hard to help but she was alone and was limited to the time needed to give us further help. Comfort Inn should have had more staff to take care of the needs of their guest. The room assigned was an adequate room but very little water pressure in the bathroom. I would stay at Comfort Inn again but they need better staffing

The only complaint I have is that when you put separate parties in adjoining rooms and one is extremely loud the other can't sleep. You need to soundproof the adjoining doors a lot better than what they are.

We love this hotel in Brookings, SD. Great customer Service, and they are so very friendly. The breakfast is excellent, and the rooms and beds are clean and very comfortable. There are several restaurants close by and not very far to Main Street. It’s a 1 mile walk to the SDSU campus.

Property was updated and new. We booked a room through Orbitz and the morning of our departure, a front desk staffer, without calling ahead, and without knocking on the door, used the master key to try to enter our room. I had the inside door latch latched, so she could not make her way into the room, unannounced and uninvited, but it was disturbing. She then knocked, and I answered after which point she accused me of having used the room without having checked in. I clearly did because I put a card on file for incidentals, I had two functional room keys and had initialed their damage waiver. I received no apology for this intrusion, and received no other attempt at remedying my dissatisfaction with this intrusion. I definitely will not be staying at this location again.

The AC unit had to be unplugged as the control panel did not work. The TV went through internal updates that took a half hour before we could watch. The front desk did not know how to retrieve the messages a blinking red light told me were there. Breakfast was runny scrambled eggs, warm sausages, and a couple of crummy waffle makers. No bacon. No biscuits and gravy. Very disappointed.

Enjoyed the tall ceiling in first floor room.. Appreciated that they kept a youth sports team in check and not running around hotel as many youth sports teams do. Did not enjoy the shower set up with half door and not place to hang towels. Also did not enjoy that their was not full breakfast on Sunday (no biscuits and gravy, little fruit)

This Comfort Suites was clean and very comfortable, equipped with a mini-fridge and a microwave in the room. We often eat in our hotels while traveling, and there is a Wal-mart within walking distance to make that extra easy. Free breakfast with hot and cold items gets you off to a good start in the mornings.
