The property is run down and facilities are limited or not usable (such as tennis courts, club house, etc). The resort definitely shows its age. The pool area and the view are beautiful, staff is friendly and hotel is clean. Limited dining options, some restaurants are only open on weekends. Buffet food quality is very good but expensive.

Staff was very nice and helpful. The night tour was also fun. The rooms and facility are dated outside of the lobby. It does have a nice pool and garden area, but facilities need some updating.

Pool is nice. However a bit slow the pool bar. Good food a la carte. Did not try yet buffet. Noisy A/C in the room, although it does the job. Reserved for 3 but room prepared for 2. Room is clean. Overall Good.

This is the place to be if you want to explore the area. The pool is perfect and the breakfast buffet is very good. My room was at the 2nd floor and even if there was a smell in the corridor,inside our room there was no problem. There is some restaurants in the complex but only one was open,the others open on week ends. The buffet for breakfast,lunch and dinner was affordable if you are hungry.There is few other options. There is no spa and no others facilities than the pool. The waiters and waitress were very nice and a warm welcome was appreciate.We have no complain.

Gamboa offers no tours on Mondays. Was not told prior to arriving. Pool seating is very limited. Chairs are shabby, old and uninviting. Indoor areas smell like mold ans restrooms are messy and not clean. Front desk staff is accommodating and warm!

O lugar é lindíssimo, paradisíaco, mas parece que a propriedade nao recebe muita manutencao. Na piscina, faltam muitas pastilhas, a grade a volta está quebrada. Good food, friendly staff, the free tours on offer are great too! Rooms comfy, overall a wonderful stay. Perhaps add a spa and maybe some more entertainment for guests on the weekend.

We enjoyed our 4 night stay with our young family but definitely room for improvement and in hindsight would have reduced length of stay. The room was comfortable and well cleaned and we loved our hammock on the balcony. The service was mixed, some staff were super friendly whilst others were dismissive and couldn’t even raise a smile. The pool was a hit with our 4 year old daughter but tired in places, and the communal toilets in need of some attention. The tours we did were great for our young kids but a little overpriced for what they were. The food in the restaurant was great and a good choice. They were making an effort to renovate while we were there with painting going on but it struck us that the entire resort has suffered a little from the pandemic with a lot of areas closed off.

I loved the attention and dedication to animals and conservation by the staff and the tour people beautiful facility, but they need to get that pool bar functioning. Would be nice if some of the tour girls at the tour desk didn’t ignore me when I tried to speak to them in English. Majority of the staff was very friendly except a couple girls at the tour desk who would completely ignore me when I tried to speak to them in English, and proceeded to only talk to my girlfriend in Spanish, which I thought was rude, but this was only one or two people. There was one gentleman a manager, who was incredibly helpful, and even brought us Coca-Cola us to the room. Overall incredible place with great respect for wildlife

the beautiful scenery you can’t put a price on that the view every morning was breathtaking the downside would be the hotels upkeep it felt very dated and wasn’t very clean our towels had a musty smell and the rooms were just average. There isn’t too much variety when it came to dining either. Overall the staff and the mini excursions were pretty awesome. Little things would take this from a 3 star experience to a a 5 star experience.

We decided to not stay after we saw how dirty the lobby was. I checked the room and it was humid and dirty. AC did not work well and we could smell the humidity. We were very disappointed with the place. We did the activities they had to offer and then left the hotel.

The resort area and view is very beautiful. I'd say the hotel condition is still solid 3 star hotel. It's a bit dated but not too bad. The hotel lobby is grand and beautiful and well maintained. Lots of activities to keep you busy. The resort staff are very nice and hard working and mostly speak good English. The tour guides, boat and truck drivers are working very hard to give you best experience and are very pleasant people. Monday is off for all excursions (except the free night tour) so plan accordingly. I like that there is a dehumidifier in the room so the humidity was improved by that. The room is very clean. However the pillows and blanket were not clean or might not been washed after previous guests. They were stinky and smelled like someone's sweat, very gross. The food is very good although they are all buffets. The hotel is busy with lots of day guests. It seems very popular with families of young kids.

This place deserves a very generous one star. From the moment we checked in they were a disaster and one after another opportunity for horrible service. They gave my family rooms in opposite sides of the hotel even though all the rooms were booked together and we arrived early. They claimed that they had us in different places because they had many weddings. I had to call a manager for them to figure out a way to have us in close proximity. The lady at the tour desk seemed like she was barking at me for trying to do a reservation. First she said I had to do reservations 2 days ahead, then miraculously had availability the following morning when I said I was going somewhere else to do them. Every time we asked for a drink or food, it would take an hour for then to acknowledge you and another hour to get what you asked for. To get a fried egg and an omelette at breakfast was a 30 min wait. The food was ok but certainly way overpriced. The rooms were dirty and run down. The shower would overflow with water. The door of the balcony came off its hinges and almost falls on me. Every day we had to ask for towels because they would give us 2 for a family of 4. And forget about a single good morning or smile from the staff. Everyone seemed mad and annoyed of being there. Basically, save yourself from a crony place that sells itself as a fancy place and a Motel 8 is probably better.

The location is Great ! The food is very expensive..if you stay here you don’t have any alternative you have eat the hotel food. The hotel does not even provide tooth paste. They will only give you 2 towels…it is very human and hot…so you will need more than one shower…but you will get only one towel per day per person. The room floors are oily and slippery…and the room smells a little…you will need a few hours to get used to it. Beware of mosquitos …you can’t stay out after dark…they will eat you alive!!

Wir haben das Hotel wegen seiner guten Lage und des Tourangebotes gebucht. Der Ausblick auf den Dschungel und den See war toll. Von der Lage her ist das Hotel sehr gut, die Einrichtungen jedoch etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Die Gemeinschaftseinrichtungen sind recht sauber gehalten, in unserer Dusche lag jedoch noch die Seife des Vorgängers. Wir sind gegen 17 Uhr angereist. Leider war es zu diesem Zeitpunkt nicht mehr möglich, eine geführte Wanderung für den nächsten Tag zu buchen. Das ist ärgerlich, da wir zuvor auch per Mail angefragt hatten und darauf keine Antwort bekommen haben. Die Mitarbeiter an der Tourstation waren teilweise recht unfreundlich, außerdem war das Tourangebot im Vergleich zu den auf der Internetseite gelisteten Aktivitäten geringer. Wir würden das Hotel in Zukunft nicht mehr aufgrund der Touren buchen, sondern eher empfehlen, einen geführten Tagesausflug von Panama-City in den Gamboa-Regenwald zu buchen.

The accommodations were comfortable, but we had to wipe the dirt off our feet, from the dirt off the floor, before getting into bed. Food prices wee obscenely absurd. We paid $50 for two ham and cheese sandwiches. At breakfast the scrambled eggs were runny, and room temperature. At dinner, the mashed potatoes served were as cool as the eggs. No wash rags are provided in the rooms. If you want to scrub you make do with full size hand towels. Salt and pepper must be requested at every meal.

Nice, spacious, very comfortable room and bathroom. Balcony had beautiful scenic views. A/C could have worked a bit better but understandable due to the high heat and humidity of the rainforest. Highly recommend doing the boat ride to see and feed the monkeys. Great experience!

I am I love with this place. The landscaping and views are phenomenal! Buffet lunch was great! But dinner was lacking. Poolside food was excellent as was the cafe. Hammock on my patio was peaceful. It’s very well kept with some minor issues and a little dated but I strongly recommend!

They switched us to a room of much less value. And offered no refund but they did offer an $18 breakfast. No thanks. The next day I tried talking to management about a refund and it took me 3 times heading to the lobby to reach some sort of agreement. Also note there is no phone in the rooms. Any and every request must be done in person or on your cell. Hotels.com did not help at all. Never booking on this app again.

Excellent location for birding, lots of birds on property and legendary birding close by. The resort is getting dated but still nice. Same with the amenities (pool and dining areas). The rooms ac was lacking at a constant 25.5 celsius. I emptied the humidifier about 30 times in the week we were there. Visit the town of Gamboa for a Panamain feel.

The Gamboa Reserve is beautiful! The rooms are spacious and the views are unparalleled! Housekeeping comes every day and does a fantastic job! There is so much to do in the beautiful rainforest…hiking, zip line, bike park, large pool. We could have stayed for weeks! Check in was easy and friendly. Prices were reasonable. Food was ok. The resort is 20+ years old. They have done a good job maintaining it without doing any major renovations which is perfect! You still get the large rooms and new, comfortable beds without the 5 star prices. I highly recommend!

We enjoyed our 4 night stay with our young family but definitely room for improvement and in hindsight would have reduced length of stay. The room was comfortable and well cleaned and we loved our hammock on the balcony. The service was mixed, some staff were super friendly whilst others were dismissive and couldn’t even raise a smile. The pool was a hit with our 4 year old daughter but tired in places, and the communal toilets in need of some attention. The tours we did were great for our young kids but a little overpriced for what they were. The food in the restaurant was great and a good choice. They were making an effort to renovate while we were there with painting going on but it struck us that the entire resort has suffered a little from the pandemic with a lot of areas closed off.

beautiful view from the room, nice clean room with a Hammock on the porch. Food and drinks we\'re decent. Not a popular time of year i guess because not many people in the hotel. wish we had known almost all the drinks were included in the "with board" package, we would have taken advantage of that more. We did the Zip Line tour which was awesome, not much else in the area.

Front Desk staff Iris (5 star). Money bar area staff mixed some horrible whom don't check on you. No phone in room to call front desk to get more towels (only had 2 for 4 people). The all inclusive food was ok but nothing great. Regarding the outdoor /nature this is always great but hotel is a bit isolated and they don't even have an ATM ..... No icemachines

This place deserves a very generous one star. From the moment we checked in they were a disaster and one after another opportunity for horrible service. They gave my family rooms in opposite sides of the hotel even though all the rooms were booked together and we arrived early. They claimed that they had us in different places because they had many weddings. I had to call a manager for them to figure out a way to have us in close proximity. The lady at the tour desk seemed like she was barking at me for trying to do a reservation. First she said I had to do reservations 2 days ahead, then miraculously had availability the following morning when I said I was going somewhere else to do them. Every time we asked for a drink or food, it would take an hour for then to acknowledge you and another hour to get what you asked for. To get a fried egg and an omelette at breakfast was a 30 min wait. The food was ok but certainly way overpriced. The rooms were dirty and run down. The shower would overflow with water. The door of the balcony came off its hinges and almost falls on me. Every day we had to ask for towels because they would give us 2 for a family of 4. And forget about a single good morning or smile from the staff. Everyone seemed mad and annoyed of being there. Basically, save yourself from a crony place that sells itself as a fancy place and a Motel 8 is probably better.

I loved the attention and dedication to animals and conservation by the staff and the tour people beautiful facility, but they need to get that pool bar functioning. Would be nice if some of the tour girls at the tour desk didn’t ignore me when I tried to speak to them in English. Majority of the staff was very friendly except a couple girls at the tour desk who would completely ignore me when I tried to speak to them in English, and proceeded to only talk to my girlfriend in Spanish, which I thought was rude, but this was only one or two people. There was one gentleman a manager, who was incredibly helpful, and even brought us Coca-Cola us to the room. Overall incredible place with great respect for wildlife

Das einzige Hotel in der Gegend und unbedingt einen längeren Aufenthalt wert. Nur wer hier wohnt kann früh morgens die Wanderungen starten und kann auch noch abends die Stimmung am Rio Chagres genießen. Das Hotel ist trotz des Alters noch gut in Schuss und auch die Leistungen passen.

I am I love with this place. The landscaping and views are phenomenal! Buffet lunch was great! But dinner was lacking. Poolside food was excellent as was the cafe. Hammock on my patio was peaceful. It’s very well kept with some minor issues and a little dated but I strongly recommend!

The buffet was high price for lots of mediocre food. The Monkey Bar on the lobby level was much better with ala carte options. The empanadas were so good we took some with us when we left. We paid $50 for two ham and cheese sandwiches. At breakfast the scrambled eggs were runny, and room temperature. At dinner, the mashed potatoes served were as cool as the eggs. No wash rags are provided in the rooms. If you want to scrub you make do with full size hand towels. Salt and pepper must be requested at every meal.

And there is wildlife everywhere, we saw so much. Also recommend the night safaris. The pool was great for our kids as had both shallow and deep ends. It is a bit in the middle of nowhere but we easily managed to get an uber to/from Panama City
