Embassy Suites by Hilton Syracuse Destiny USA

My family and I planned this trip mainly to swim in the pool and when we checked in we were informed that the pool was closed. If this information had been posted on the website before I booked a hotel I would’ve cancelled my reservation and stayed somewhere else. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and apologetic, but overall I was very disappointed. I book hotels in the area often and this was my first time booking here. Safe to say I won’t be back :(

If you are looking to us their shuttle be sure to double check. Set up with the front desk night prior came down on the morning and said they did not have it set up. When asked for the next available said it was only for airline crew. Ended up paying for an Uber to get our flight on time.

Didn't love this hotel. Initial put off was the $25.00 we were charged to park our car in the hotel parking lot. It would be different if this was an area of limited parking (lot was huge) or of course if we weren't overnight guests at the hotel. Had I known we would have had to pay for parking, we never would have stayed here. The room was worn and just felt dirty and cheap. The continental breakfast offering in the morning was a bright spot. We got in late and were out early on our way to Montreal. So the breakfast was a plus, but really the only one.

Nice property. Convenient access to the mall and walking distance to the train station. Quick check-in. Never a wait for elevatorsz not crowded. Room was pretty good size. Clean, very, very quiet and comfortable. Pool is pathetic. Cloudy, dirty pool deck, unheated and no hot tub. Disappointing for such a large property. Breakfast was typical Hampton Inn-level fare. Nothing special at all, but the buffet was clean and it's free. Overall, a nice place to stay. Why it's so ridiculously expensive is beyond me. The day of check-in, I saw the rate that day in Google Maps. For that same price ($750) I could get a suite at The Palazzo and still have some change for the tables. Insane.

Excellent breakfast. Room was very comfortable. I really like having the extra room so we didn’t have to go to bed same time as our little kids. The room did not have great air circulation. There was no fan in the bathroom or anywhere in the room. Pool is small and crowded and very chlorinated.

The pool was over max capacity and no one cared. No towels. Even after asking and thebpool was so chlorinated my kid and other kids were coughing!

Great hotel with excellent service and outstanding location. One big drawback- 2 of 3 elevators not working for whole weekend. Just can’t happen in a hotel of this size - you need to be better prepared!

Hotel was fine. Restaurant was supposed to open at 4 but no staff. Had to leave the property to eat. We’ve been here before and restaurant service was also poor.

Totally happy about our overnight stay. However, just a little disappointed in the $15 a night parking fee. There is no need for that at this location. The lot around the hotel is huge…..seems more like just another cash grab!

The pool area is overcrowded and loud with no supervision or adult.

I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the room to say the least. The bedroom had specks of glitter around it the carpets are stained all throughtout the entire room. And moat disguating of all was the pull out couch mattress was stained yellow, most likely urine.

The beds in the rooms were absolutely disgusting. Stains and food crumbs on the mattresses beneath the sheets. The elevators were covered in filth and not cleaned during the time we were there.

Shabby rooms and the property throughout was dirty full of trash. Overflowing trash bins. Nasty stains in carpet and couch. Beer cans a a broken bottles. Greasy smeared elevator doors and seemed like only one was working. I could not believe this was a Hilton brand hotel.

When i areived i noticed children throughout the entire lobby. I first dismissed it, thinking ot was an event. I dont mind childern, but the chairs were wait on the second floor as i used them to take personal pic. The bar lobby were sole gatherwd for drinks the chairs were dirty and wet as well. The fireplace wasnt on, and napkins and plates were everywhere. I booked this location for the experience or being close to destiny as i had my birthday dinner there. Im really not sure if ill ever book that location again. Tbh

Usually when I stay here it’s perfect and I’ve been here several times when visiting family. This time the woman I checked in with was not the least bit friendly. When I got to the room to shower there was hair ALLLLL over the walls and the tile had some type of grit like sand on it. The pillow also had a TON of hair all over it and very visible oil spots. Pillow cases were definitely not changed. So disgusting. Not what I expected from a Hilton and almost $300 a night.

I’d rate this hotel a 6/10. The first room we went into (408 I believe) had a couple of long strands of hair on one bed, on top of the cover. We figured with a tattered or piling duvet it’s expected. The carpet was dirty with a large (watermelon size) brown stain (coffee?), the table below the tvs were both missing the corners, the carpet also had blue dye or paint in a few small areas, makeup finger prints in the bedroom on the wall (random), then both the couch & sofa are dirty. We couldn’t sit on that. The staff were excellent & switched us to another room (634). It was better but still looking run down here & there. The shower pressure was nice. Spacious & clean bathroom. Bed was ok; quite soft. Breakfast was pretty good; great chef, nice variety. The mall is conveniently within walking distance. We prefer cleaning hotels that don’t look too worn down in the room. At least it’s bug free, and the breakfast was enjoyable.

Seems expensive for a place that does not feel like it is well maintained. Mattress was like sleeping in a canoe. Broken and missing tiles in the bathroom. Hallways seemed to always have trash from room service not cleaned up in the hallways. Only redeeming factor is location.

The bed in the room was dirty！

The hotel room was very dirty and beat up. Food crusted into carpets. Some sticky gross stain next to the bed. Some pink substance on the bed. Eyelashes in the bed. Bloody boogers in the bathroom on the wall like someone was picking their nose while pooping and wiping it on the walls. The tub was broken and had dirt in it. See photos from stay. Could not go swimming because there was a very large kids party in the pool the whole weekend even though there is a large sign that says no pool parties permitted. Would not stay here again.

We checked in and checked out within an hour. There were stains everywhere and it smelled terrible to say the least.

Hotel was conveniently located, close to many dining and entertainment options for the kids. The staff was welcoming. The room was spacious but showing signs of wear. The couch had stains and cushions were worn. The bathroom was clean but the shower was dated and drained was clogged backing up into the tub as it was used. Just off the highway the morning was loud with trucks passing by. For one night passing through Syracuse it’s Still a good option. We may have just gotten unlucky with the room.

I was in a suite for two weeks. Overall, very good hotel. The following are my recommendations for areas of improvement: *the public areas could be cleaner. Some furniture is stained, floors could be cleaner, elevators could be cleaner *bedroom closets need lighting as there is limited lighting in the bedroom itself *basic cable in the rooms make tv viewing woesome. I ended up buying an hdmi cable and streaming off my laptop. WiFi is not great. * ALL staff were very accommodating. Always greeted w a smile and friendly demeanor. Josh at the front desk went above and beyond. *In “grey” Syracuse, rooms that aren’t decorated in greys would be nicer. *Free breakfast is great w eggs made to order, oatmeal and cereal, bagels, breads and danishes, fresh fruit and hot bacon, sausage, potatoes and coffees. In addition, the free happy hour is a great touch. *A couple of bottles of water in the room and checking would be a nice touch So, if I were to stay in Syracuse again (which I hope I don’t have to) I would definitely book this hotel again. Housekeeping upon request. Pack your own bathrobe (none supplied). Also, pack your own hot water kettle for the room as the coffee machine in the room is a bit yucky. Very comfortable beds!

Beautiful hotel with many amenities. Very clean but rooms were extremely hot which made it not comfortable and you could not turn the heat down, nor did the windows open. I turned the heat off on the thermostat but it did not make a difference. I wish the room temperature could be adjusted to guests liking.

The room we had was great. Very spacious for me and my family. However, there was a few stains on the carpet that could be either replaced or shampooed. The pool was fun and the 24 hour fitness center was convenient.

We reserved a king suite and what we got is a king shoebox. The room was literally small. You had to shimmy between the bottom of the bed and the window to get to the other side of the bed. Typically, we view Embassy suites as an upgrade or a more Prestigious stay. What we got was a comfort in room. Other times when we stay in a king suite it has an additional room. This was a shoebox. Additionally, we paid for our room in advance $369 but then when we checked in, they charged us a $250 fee for incidentals and and a hold on our card. We find this to be excessive.

Staff could not find Hilton reservation in their system sent from Expedia. Check in was delayed. Confirmation notification from Expedia did not clearly indicate what the Hilton confirmation number was. The suite is cramped and the carpeting and furniture show signs of wear. Lighting in the bedroom is inadequate.

Staff were friendly! The hotel was quiet, with the staff caption of our AC, which we had to turn off because it was loud and made continuous rattling noise.

The place seemed to be having an A/C issue. We had a room that was blowing warm air, they kindly switched our room after acknowledging the A/C wasn’t working. But the second room wasn’t much cooler, the temp barely dropped at all. By this point we just wanted to settle in for the evening. After all the moving and getting ready for bed the cable stopped working for the night. For a Embassy suite the room was very crapped for 3 people. Noticed the Lobby had fans going, kinda giving and indication they knew they had some issues with the A/C. All and all not an enjoyable stay for the money. Also on a side note, charging 16 dollars for parking is a hussle and they should be called out on that nonsense.

We did not stay long at this property. We were out before breakfast started, so we do not know how that was. Two things we did not like was the small size of the room and the carpet was dirty. This was one of the smallest rooms we have ever stayed at in the states. It was not worth $300 plus for this room, and the stay. Also we waited over 45 minutes at the airport to be picked up. So the customer service takes a hit for that. What we did like was the complementary drinks, and the person at the front desk with glasses on. He was very helpful to us.

From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this establishment fails to meet even the most basic standards of hospitality and cleanliness. Upon arrival, I was informed that my multiple rooms weren't ready, despite arriving at the advertised check-in time. The front desk agent, Jared, delivered this news without a hint of apology or concern for my inconvenience. When I inquired about when the rooms might be available, he shrugged dismissively, leaving me completely in the dark. To make matters worse, Jared had the audacity to complain that they were "understaffed" - as if their staffing issues were somehow my problem and not a management failure. Adding insult to injury, the hotel offers complimentary drinks from 5:30 to 7:00 PM, but Jared refused to provide the drink tickets for all my rooms. Even though both rooms had been fully paid for over three weeks in advance, and despite one room not being ready past the guaranteed check-in time (through no fault of mine), I was denied the amenities I had rightfully paid for. This arbitrary withholding of included services was both unprofessional and showed a complete disregard for paying customers. I was made to feel like an unwelcome burden simply for expecting the room I had reserved to be ready on time. The appalling customer service didn't end there. Jared provided absolutely no information about Hotel amenities-breakfast, pool access, etc. Basic hospitality training seems to be entirely absent. Cleanliness is also an issue.

Very clean comfortable beds… great breakfast! Convenient location… booked and paid on Expedia months in advance, when I checked in, they charged me for the room AGAIN… spoke to woman at front desk morning before checkout to try and correct double charge, she wasn’t very interested but said it would be taken care of… it was NOT. Had to call hotel days later to have charge removed. Be aware and check your credit card if paid in advance. While this was an inconvenience, the overall stay was great.

Tv and the phone in room was not working asked about it 2x said someone would come fix it never did

The dining room staff as well as the bar servers were business friendly and attentive. The cleaning staff overlooked cleaning our rooms, making beds and change towels two consecutive days. It was brought to the attention of the front desk both times. Beds were made and towels changed only when I insisted on speaking to cleaning supervisor the second day. Disappointed and find this totally unacceptable .

When we arrived for check in it was extremely busy. When it was my turn I was helped but my room was ready. I wasn’t in a huge rush so while I waited for the staff to figure it out I felt bad they were so busy. Radioing house keeping trying to see what room I was in. I think his name was Joel, hope I’m right. Kept apologizing and thanking me for my patience. When they finally got it sorted I got lucky and was offered a free room Upgrade! Thank you! The room was lovely and the staff was very helpful. Even the house keeping and breakfast crews were courteous. Will stay again.

Arrived at 6 pm after driving 6 hours and well after the check in time. They told us the room wasn’t ready and when questioned they said they were fully booked and under staffed. Both of these are not actually acceptable answers considering the room was prepaid and we were hours after check in time. When we said that they put us in a room that I’m fairly certain was not what we paid for (and not an upgrade) but we were only staying 1 night and had some place to be. They also were not apologetic at all. Felt very unprofessional.

We stay at this hotel every time we travel back to our hometown to visit family, and it’s always a reliable choice. The location couldn’t be more convenient, with the mall and plenty of restaurants just next door. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming, and the property is usually kept very clean. The continental breakfast is one of the highlights… fresh, plentiful, and a great way to start the day. The only downside is the air conditioning units, which don’t always cool the rooms as much as we’d like, especially in warmer months. Still, the convenient location, cleanliness, and excellent service keep us coming back each visit.

The hotel itself was very new and clean. Nice big lobby and bar area. We weren’t happy with our assigned room and asked two housekeepers (Gina the Supervisor and Kristy) if we could switch and they radioed in our request and we were switched right away - they were awesome. We couldn’t check in early like we wanted but thankfully the bartender was mixing delicious margaritas. And we got two free drink tickets each for happy hour! We’d def stay here again.

Great location next to Destiny USA mall with good dining options, but a bit overpriced for its location.

Great hotel, nearby Syracuse University and mall. Surrounding areas are not great, pretty ghetto. Now they charge $15 per night for parking to pay for security which leads me to believe crimes like car break-ins do occur here.

Amazing. Our annual girls getaway weekend at Destiny, my daughter and I enjoyed every minute. Far safer than in the past, there seems to be more security measures and hopefully, more watching of the parking lot (we’d had our vehicle broken into among several others a while ago but the hotel staff was super supportive). We had a lovely time this long weekend- from checkin to all the housekeeping folks, it was great. Thanks and we look forward to next time.

Location good for Destiny USA Mall, SUNY ESA/Syracuse campus and airport.

Stayed here for 3 nights over the July 4 week, convenient to the mall, close to downtown (only 5 min drive away), fresh breakfast provided which was really good, and they had free coffee and tea 24/7 which was great! Friendly staff as well! Would definitely return again.

We stayed at the location because it is right across the street from the Destiny Mall. It makes it so easy to shop, walk over to the hotel for a short break then walk back to the mall. The room was comfortable (we did turn the ac on because we were super warm after walking around the mall). The breakfast was very good with plenty of choices and even an option to have eggs cooked to order. We did have two things that bothered us slightly. The room smelled of cigarette smoke, especially the bathroom. Also, upon returning to the hotel in the evening there were several smokers just outside the main entrance which gave a bit of a smoke cloud to walk through to enter. We have stayed at this location before and will stay again.

This hotel was perfect! The made to order breakfast was a nice touch to the already plentiful breakfast options! The happy hour was a great way to get everyone down for dinner. The proximity to the mall was great for our family. We had a 3 legged trip in New York and this was our best stay overall!

The hotel was very nice and in a convenient location as far as access to the mall. The breakfast was the best we have ever had at a hotel. You could get made to order omelettes and they were delicious!!

Service at check in was quick and friendly. Happy hour drinks and snacks were a nice greeting! Breakfast was good with choices and made to order eggs. Room was sufficient for our needs and the bed is very comfy. We didn’t use the pool or gym. Very close to the mall. You can walk there.

I checked in on the Hilton app, and input my card for incidentals. The app said I was checked in but had to show ID at the desk to activate my digital key. They they needed to re-run a card for incidentals, and gave me physical keys. Kinda defeated the purpose of checking in on the app. We LOVED the staff who worked at the bar and the restaurant. The morning omelette chef was entertaining and extremely efficient. The food was delicious! The evening happy hour food was broccoli, carrots & ranch; tortilla chips and salsa, and Carmel popcorn. We stayed in 608, which was very humid and had a strong chlorine smell upon walking in. There are some missing tiles in the bathroom. The bed I slept in (nearest bathroom) kind of sinks in the middle. The bathtub plug didn’t work to hold water for a bath. But on the bright side - the tub itself was clean! We stayed during a huge winter storm, so didnt make a fuss about any of that. They charge $15/night for parking. We were a bit shocked that despite paying this fee, the lots were not plowed thoroughly and all guests had to fend for themselves to get vehicles cleared. They had a huge dozer clear driving paths but no parking areas so finding a spot to park without getting stuck was a challenge.

The breakfast, which is included at no charge, is the best hotel breakfast I have ever had! The gentleman working the omelet station is very enteraining! The staff is pleasant and kind.

The rooms are really nice. We had a king suite, plenty of room, tv in bedroom & sitting area. Has a microwave & refrigerator, and a wet bar. The windows are from floor to ceiling. Free hot breakfast every morning. The "managers reception" free every night for a couple of hours. You get 2 cocktails & light fare. You can dine in the restaurant or get room service. There is a shuttle for transport needs. Parking is $15 daily. The only small hiccup is that you don't know what the incidentals charge will be until you get there. Mine was $250 for three nights - a little more than what i'm used to, but it was all worth it. The Destiny USA is literally directly across the street. 5 min walk. My son is a grad student at Syracuse University - less than 2 miles. This hotel will be my go to whenever we come to visit. My husband loved it! Awesome⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
