The hotel is set in beautiful countryside and the property itself is grade two listed. The public areas were nicely done and lots of breakout areas to have quiet time or be with friends. Unfortunately the two rooms we booked were not up to standard with both bathrooms having visible long-term mould in significant areas of the tiling, plus the showers kept turning on and off whilst you use them. In the bedrooms the wallpaper was loose in areas and in one of the rooms the wall had what looked to be a mud stain down one wall. Not what you expect for a hotel that is meant to be part of the small luxury hotels group, nor the price that we paid for the rooms. We had arranged to have upgraded rooms, which concerned us more as we wondered what our standard rooms would’ve been like! Our rooms didn’t have air-conditioning and they could only provide very old fans which did little to cool things down. We made use of the spa and all of its facilities. The spa treatments for all four of us were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed them. We were lucky that our stay was during the hot spell so we were able to use the outside pool but if it had been a cold or rainy day that really does limit what is on offer for you to spend a day or even a half day. The pool area was tired, especially the loungers which had definitely seen better days. We did however love the food and menu choices including a good selection of wines. All the staff were really nice and eager to help.

The staff were very friendly but there was no air conditioning and the breakfast was disappointing with empty salt and pepper , not enough food and when I asked the receptionist to look for my Apple charger I had left behind she brushed me off and never got back to me

Really stunning location… feels a little disjointed…restaurant staff amazing but they aren’t proactive… Think the hotel could be a real retreat if they put some attention into some aspects of experience…
