We stayed in the Floatel & it was a fantastic experience, once you get over the 'sea legs' feeling! It felt very special & secluded. The only downside was the shower which was very poor pressure (not enough to be able to wash my hair) & very temperamental temperature. The bed wasn't the most comfortable but with the motion of being on the water you just dealt with it. We stayed for 2 nights which was enough. The restaurants within a 10min walk are very limiting. Just basic pub grub or greasy spoon which was a shame. The hotel itself, was very pricey for drinks & the restaurant a bit too high end for a not a high end few days away.

I really didn't want to put a negative review as I use this hotel frequently, however my stay was not up to your normal standard. I had a meal on both days at the restaurant and both times flies were in my drink and meal. Not just one they were crawling along the table the windows. Very disappointed. I was also travelling for business and I was unable to have room service after 6 pm and I was not allowed to eat in the bar, I had to eat in the restaurant which I had no attire to do so on those days so I sat in a busy restaurant with a tracksuit on feeling very uncomfortable. I think meals in the bar should be allowed in the area for guests! The room was lovely and clean and great location.

The Hotel and staff were excellent BUT the price of drinks at the bar were ridiculous! We paid 27.50 GBP for 2 glasses of wine and then went to the Harbour masters Restaurant and paid 16.50 for the same wine!!!! The food in the evening was excellent but Breakfast was barely luke warm!! Nice to stay there but drink elsewhere... I was a Regional Director for Compass Group Restaurants and I was absolutely flabbergasted by the pricing on Wine. Normally wine would be approximately 3 times the bought in price but this was at least 5 times as the quality was nothing special!!!! Breakfast needs to be better managed!
