Great stop at the end of Day 1 walking the west Highland Way . The room was a little on the small side with virtually no storage places and only a shower not a bath (that would have been perfect). Very clean with tea and coffee facilities. The restaurant was part of the pub which was very busy and was mostly pub food. Staff were very friendly. Only wish there was somewhere for residents to go and relax - ie a few sofas - as we had to sit in the noisy restaurant all evening with all the other pub goers. Great cafe and shop on site to get bits for the next day too. Would book again .

Staff friendly and extremely helpful, especially kirsty on reception, checked us in early and upgraded us to a lake view apartment. Only downside was all orders from the bar are made from downloading QR code off table, took too long for us to figure out and actually make an order, then waited ages for drinks.

Great location near the shores of Loch Lomond. Great little hotel with a lovely bar area. Food was delicious, Haggis was the best I had anywhere in 3 weeks of driving around the highlands and lowlands. Great coffee roasted next door at the coffee shop. Definitely a place I'd return to.

Booked a superior room which was in a separate cottage. Parking easy, room lovely and clean and comfortable. Had a view of loch lomond too and a balcony to sit outside if we wanted to. Nice ensuite too.

The room wasn’t presented as shown in the photos, it has at sometime leaked with paint peeling off the wall and had a damp smell. The bedding was clean however the pillow cases were well worn with holes. Bathroom was not particularly clean and there was no storage or any place to put bags. Definitely not worth the price we paid. The area was a great place to visit though.

Room wasn’t as expected or resembled what was shown when it was booked. The room was pretty tired, the astroturf outside made it look very cheap. The walls are quite thin so you can hear guests in the next room talking. Views to the loch are marred by a semi industrial area. The bar does not have a lounge, only tables so if the restaurant is full there is nowhere to sit and enjoy a drink, Staff were very friendly. Food quality was relatively ok, although at the lower end of what you would expect from a three star hotel.

Super clean room, great facilities, lovely staff, awesome breakfast, lovely bar, comfortable bed. only downside the rooms are not very well sound proofed. we could hear the person in the lodge type room beside us snoring all night. at 6am in the morning the people in the room above got up to go walking. we where awakened by their every footstep and could hear most things that they where saying. Bar this, we had a very enjoyable stay.

The property is very pretty and the room was beautiful. It would have been nice to have a mini fridge. The shower although is dangerous. The water would alternate between very cold water and scalding hot water within a few seconds of eachother. The water pressure is very weak but that seems to be the norm in Scotland. I had dinner (fish and chips)at the adoining restaurant and enjoyed the service and the food despite having read some negative comments.

Had a two night stay in a Superior Pod that was larger and more comfortable than many UK hotel rooms. Brand new, very clean. If you're looking for a quiet escape, you can’t do better. Loch views just a short walk, and right by the national park entrance. Lovely pub, restaurant, and coffee shop on the grounds, meals and baking are fantastic. Be forewarned there is very little public transport in the area, plan ahead or you'll have to hitch a ride.

A fantastic, relaxing 1 night stay, perfect after climbing Conic Hill in the morning. Check in was smooth, the room was fabulous, lovely loch view with a private balcony, think it was a premier deluxe room, well worth the upgrade, very warm and clean and tidy, the most amazing powerful rainfall shower, nice wee added extras such as toiletries and bath robes and slippers. Very peaceful setting and lovely in the Winter for a cosy stay. Buffet breakfast was absolutely fantastic, all fresh and kept topped up and was delicious.

Check in was nice and easy with clear directions to the room in another building. I think the building was called Loch Say. The room was one floor up and likely a converted attic. Bed was comfortable and, shower nice and clean with all amenities expected. The steep sided roof was annoying and other than the bed, there was no furnishing. We literally sat on the floor to watch TV and make tea/coffee. Location wise, the hotel is centrally located, directly opposite Conic Hill Car Park and where a shop and cafe are located.

The large chest of drawers at the end of the bed left little space to get out from the left side of the bed. A slightly smaller unit would have fitted under the TV making it a much easier space to use. Would stay here again beautiful location. Food at the Oak tree inn was good pub food. Definitely didn't go home hungry.

We had the most fantastic stay at the Oak Tree inn. We were up for my partners birthday and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming - all the way down to giving us the best seat in the restaurant right by the fire. The room was cozy and clean. Only thing to be aware of is that if you're in the main building above the restaurant it will be noisy during dining hours. Outside of this it was super quiet so no issues at all getting to sleep. We will be back!

The photos of the rooms were misleading. Paper thin walls. We booked the deluxe double room, which according to photos, had a fireplace and balcony. We did not have either of those although we did have a window looking into the lake and a storage yard of some sort on the next property. We had made a booking for dinner weeks before and they had tried to seat us in a table crammed in front of the main door of a family room, fortunately we asked for a better table and they found us a much nicer area to sit in the pub which was part of the appeal of this hotel in the first place. Not a great experience when hospitality isn't a given. I would choose to stay elsewhere if I were visiting again.

I asked for a room with a bath and received a free upgrade to stay in one of the cottages and it was beautiful. What a great space and view of the Loch. Staff were very friendly and the food was delicious as always.

The room looked nothing like any of the photos from the booking site. It was upstairs in a somewhat musty cabin, which made it difficult to carry bags up. Checking in was less than pleasant as the clerk was terse and also told us that we didn't have a dinner reservation in spite of showing her the booking confirmation. Thankfully the gentleman in the restaurant came out and seated us. We do not plan on returning here on future visits. One additional note - if you get put in a cabin it's down the road which has limited lighting and no sidewalks for walking. Not the safest experience.

The Oak Tree Inn was easily signposted and welcoming upon arrival. We were a little early for check-in but were shown where to park the car and get food. We stayed in a twin room in one of the cottages just down the road from the main reception site and restaurant. The room was clean and warm! Ate in the onsite restaurant both nights good was great and reasonably priced. The staff was very friendly and helped with directions to places to explore. I would recommend the 'Devil's Pulpit' if you're up for a climb down into the gorge. Also, the Loch ferry across to the village of Luss is great for seeing more of the Loch. Balmaha is a beautiful village and we will definitely be returning on our next Scotland trip.

Very basic room with basic amenities for the price! Bed was not comfortable and the pillows were old and thin. One step above camping for the standard room. Surprisingly the staff was not very friendly or hospitable, which was not the case in the other hotels we stayed at. The food and beverages in the restaurant were excellent and the wait staff was nice. The staff in the store next door was super friendly however. Great store! Highly recommend the store and restaurant.

The staff were very plesent and welcoming the accommodation was lovley clean comfortable. The second night of our stay we were celebrating my patners 70th birthday with 8 other friends, we were refused any more drink served to us as we were too loud! If we had been asked to tone it down then we would have, it was a birthday! The way the staff went about it was upsetting and embarrassing that took the shine off our weekend. Apart from that we did enjoy our stay.

Staff friendly and extremely helpful, especially kirsty on reception, checked us in early and upgraded us to a lake view apartment. Only downside was all orders from the bar are made from downloading QR code off table, took too long for us to figure out and actually make an order, then waited ages for drinks.

Had a two night stay in a Superior Pod that was larger and more comfortable than many UK hotel rooms. Brand new, very clean. If you're looking for a quiet escape, you can’t do better. Loch views just a short walk, and right by the national park entrance. Lovely pub, restaurant, and coffee shop on the grounds, meals and baking are fantastic. Be forewarned there is very little public transport in the area, plan ahead or you'll have to hitch a ride.

I could rave about how friendly and accomodating the team who runs this B&B is (it's a family business), and how amazing the restaurant was in terms of delicious food options. I thought my cabin was just nice for me, and totally warm and comfortable. My favourite feature: Beautiful Location for views, hiking, attractions, everything! I walked across the street to hike Conic Hill (visitor center right there too), and also walked along the West Highland way from Tom Weir statue loch-side towards the next town, it was lovely. I especially loved the Mocha Cafe and grocery store next door for treats and supplies, everything was within walking distance and super convenient!

Check in was nice and easy with clear directions to the room in another building. I think the building was called Loch Say. The room was one floor up and likely a converted attic. Bed was comfortable and, shower nice and clean with all amenities expected. The steep sided roof was annoying and other than the bed, there was no furnishing. We literally sat on the floor to watch TV and make tea/coffee. Location wise, the hotel is centrally located, directly opposite Conic Hill Car Park and where a shop and cafe are located.

It was our first night in Scotland and what a great place to start our trip. The room was nicely decorated and comfy with the restaurant right next door. Food was great and we loved being able to walk the nearby trails and view the lake.

Very nice hotel on the shores of Loch Lomond. I was expecting a bit more of a quiet getaway- not the case! The Oak Tree is a going concern. The hotel was booked solid with visitors and the bar/restaurant were packed with tourists and locals alike. There were quite literally dozens of hikers out enjoying themselves after a day on Ben Lomond. While not as quiet as expected, the place has a nice energy and welcoming atmosphere. The coffee shop is top notch. Facilities in rooms were just OK, but clean.

The room was very nice. Very comfortable bed, a good sized bathroom with walk in shower and a nice deck to sit out on and enjoy the late afternoon sun. The evening meal was good but the breakfast was average.

The pod looks fairly new. You can park right outside. Shower was strong and hot apart from the shower cubicle is on the small side. Double bed is comfortable with clean bedding. Once you put the heating on the pod becomes warm. Two down sides, there was no remote for the TV and I couldn't get the WiFi to connect. But once I went to reception and connected it worked fine. The hotel it self is great, good food, nice bar. Also very busy clearly a popular hotel. Really good coffee in the coffee shop.

Our stay here was short but sweet. We had dinner at the hotel in their quirky restaurant. The fish and chips hit the spot. The room was well equipped with some nice extras including wireless charging stations and French press coffee. Would highly recommend. It was conveniently located as a kick off to our hike up Ben Lomond the next morning.

A fantastic, relaxing 1 night stay, perfect after climbing Conic Hill in the morning. Check in was smooth, the room was fabulous, lovely loch view with a private balcony, think it was a premier deluxe room, well worth the upgrade, very warm and clean and tidy, the most amazing powerful rainfall shower, nice wee added extras such as toiletries and bath robes and slippers. Very peaceful setting and lovely in the Winter for a cosy stay. Buffet breakfast was absolutely fantastic, all fresh and kept topped up and was delicious.

We loved our stay at the Oak Tree Inn! We stayed in a deluxe double, which felt like we were staying in a castle. The staff were kind and super helpful, and the location is fantastic for hiking Conic Hill! The food was also scrumptious. All in all a great retreat in Loch Lomond. We would book again.

The location & hotel are lovely. We enjoyed a walk & sat outside with a drink early evening. They were very busy in the bar, we got told one bar was closed & that we should order from our table outside & would need to wait in a queue to be served but my husband did manage to go in & order at the bar with table number after being told this. Dinner in the evening was ok, but the menu was limited & I had seen other things eg mince & tatties before coming that didn’t seem to be on offer. It was mainly pizza which was disappointing. Most staff were really helpful & the room was small but nice. We didn’t opt for breakfast as £13.50 for a buffet breakfast didn’t feel worth it. We drove to Tullie Inn Balloch for a nice & reasonably priced sit-down breakfast.

The property is across the street from a hiking park and that made the 2 place's to eat hard to get into. The price for breakfast in the main dinning is not worth it. The coffee shop is a better value. In the main dinning it says they have a bar but they don't. You can order drinks that are on the menu but the staff will not make anything that is not on the menu for drinks even when you explain how to make it with the ingredients they have. The housekeeper was very nice and helpful. The place could do with some maintenance but was clean.

Great location near the shores of Loch Lomond. Great little hotel with a lovely bar area. Food was delicious, Haggis was the best I had anywhere in 3 weeks of driving around the highlands and lowlands. Great coffee roasted next door at the coffee shop. Definitely a place I'd return to.

The Hotel is located in the centre of Balmaha to the East of Loch Lomand. A family run the hotel, resturant/ pub and shops opposite the public carpark. If you have a room booked there is an allocated parking bay for each room. Purpose built buildings split in to ensuite rooms , well decorated with modern fittings, comfortable bed, working TV, good Wifi, Coffee provided, but no luggage rack. Fan provided in warm July weather. We had dinner in the pub resturant which was served promptly and was as decribed. We did not take breakfast as the quoted price seemed high. Overall a pleasent hotel, I would rate it as upper 3 star.

We pre-booked a table at the restaurant to no avail. We were placed in the least cosy room in the entire restuarant (the breakfast room) and not in the genuin pub section or outside. The food was not that great but there were not really any options around.
